Used this company website free service for robo calls on my landline until probably a week ago. Kept wondering why I didn’t get the usual one ring which meant their website had caught the call. Was no... See more

Nomorobo is as USELESS as FTC Do Not Call Registry! Sadly, despite using Nomorobo, their program can only block few numbers (which means peace & quiet, but only a few months). After that, somehow... See more

I have no idea why people are…

I have no idea why people are complaining about Nomorobo. It has worked great for me for a year or so. Can not tell you when I got my last scam call. Just bought it for my wifes phone. She has been receiving Medicare scam calls 2,3 times a day. I will update you with her outcome.

I got this free thru my Verizon Fios…

I got this free thru my Verizon Fios home land line and turned it on and got more robo calls then ever and now I cannot turn it off and Verizon cant turn it off either.. This app sucks and I believe they sell your number to telemarketers.. NOMOROBO is terrible and would not recommend this to anybody... Especially since you cant disable it..

Works on some numbers

Works on some numbers, but some still get through and blocks some numbers it should not, like my vet and doctor's office. Decided these were too important to let slip. Cancelled.

Spoofers get through

Spammers who spoof numbers get through now because they aren't on the blacklist. We've only gotten one blocked call since we signed up a day ago. It was good back before spoofers but it's near worthless now. Of course we don't pay for it, so we got what we paid for.

UNEXPECTED DISAPPOINTMENT!

What a disappointment, but I got what I didn't pay for! I don't understand how so many bogus callers have my landline number because I do not use that # on internet ordering, etc. I receive from 20 - 40+ calls a day that are not for me, except on Sundays! Usually, Saturday is also a "lessor" day. I am in my 90's, and these Golden Years are becoming tarnished with black soot! I wish I knew how to merely press a number on my keypad and block them because they have increased after I signed up with NOMOROBO! Go figure!

We use the free landline service

They have a blacklist and whitelist database (numbers to block and numbers to always allow). I’ve been using them for a year and have probably reported 60-100 numbers to them. I still get 8 to 10 spam calls a day. 1 or 2 will ring once letting me know the call was blocked. The unblocked numbers are being spoofed, so they are either not in service or belong to someone else. They don't provide a history of blocked call. It appears the ability to build your own personal blacklist is a feature only available for their paid service which covers cell phones.

FREE BUT MAYBE THAT'S TOO MUCH

As we know, NOMOROBO for landlines is free. After about a week, I have determined that's about what it's worth. The first day it seemed to work fairly well but since then it seems to be doing nothing. I was going to get the subscription version for my cell phone but now I have rethought my plans. If anyone knows of a call blocker that actually works (landline or cell) I would sure like to know what it is.

Just don't

Just don't. Waste of money. Got more unwanted calls while they blocked the calls I needed to get. Frustrating and useless.

Nomorobo may not be totally on the level

I use Nomorobo (I pay $1.99/mo.) on my cell phone and also have it through FIOS (included) for my landline. I have always had the feeling that Nomorobo is, and this sounds odd, somehow causing me to receive more nuisance calls rather than less?! It seems like I started getting more unknown calls after signing up with the service, than less, and I wonder if it is so they can show more "value" in their service?

Nomorobo is a scam company.

Nomorobo is a scam company whose services are offered to you by phone service provider verizon, not affiliated. Once you sign up on their website, you have the option to report scam/spam phone calls to your phone. The number that is offered to send these reports to is not owned by nomorobo. Its to a company called Thirty Energy. I know this cause I have answering machine messages from them. Might inform Jim Browning of this so more people can know of this scam. Anyway, they claim there is a mistake on your electric bill and to contact them to correct it. This is a phishing scam to get bank info, names, addresses, income, and more. Do not use this service and do not give them your info.

We are pretty happy with Nomorobo…

We are pretty happy with Nomorobo installed on our Verizon FIOS landline. The number of unwanted calls has been reduced to 2-4 a day, down from a dozen or more. Sometimes I see the name Nomorobo on the Caller ID, and when I answer it is someone I usually would be happy to talk to - how Nomorobo figures this out is beyond me.

We set up Nomorobo for our Verizon FIOS…

We set up Nomorobo for our Verizon FIOS line and are now getting more calls, not less. All calls ring many times, so there is NO evidence that Nomorobo stopped any calls at all.

Verizon makes about $20 billion in profit per year, so there is absolutely no excuse for it to not do a lot better about nuisance calls.

NoMoRoBo has been our main call blocker…

NoMoRoBo has been our main call blocker for years. Remember it is the scam callers committing the illegal calls and congress and state goverments not writing laws to protect us and an outdated FCC system that allows blocked calls that is the problem. Now companies just buy 1000 numbers and keep dialing. I report all that get through. If other users also report, then we will all get fewer calls as they will block the number when enough people label it as spam. I get at least 2 a day and sometimes 5 to 10 "blocked" by NoMoRoBo. With the current FCC system, the line must ring once for the call to be recognized. I see NoMoRoBo and ignore it. Set the calls to get the message and not go to your VM. FREE for cell phones. Cheap for home phone. I use a separate service that unmasks most hidden numbers. Only private lines and lines for abuse shelters and the like should be allowed to block. No business should be blocked and the fines need to be charged through the provider so they can bill the caller. There are now providers that specialized in offering the 1000 cheap numbers so they can make the extended warranty call from many lines. Friends, find methods to tie these people up so it wastes their time. I say "hold on, I have to let my dog in" and set the phone down. And tell your senators you want the phone system fixed so businesses can not block numbers and numbers can be sensed before the phone answers. And they need to sue the phone providers and network providers that knowingly support these crimes.

Horrible

Horrible. The calls are now increasing and the only thing customer service tells me is that it's hard for Nomorobo to keep ahead of these telemarketers. Really? Isn't that supposed to be their job???
