We have just had HAU photograph the house and do a walk through video talked us all through the process a very polite and efficient service had time to chat to us lovely gentleman 😀

I tried to purchase a house with them. The people I dealt with repeatedly tried to tell me that Radon levels of over 100bqm were safe and normal, when the UK average is 20bqm and anything over 100bqm requires mitigation. They also repeatedly ignored the fact that they had described a damp, high radon, non-ventilated basement space as usable, despite me quoting their own listing back to them multiple times and providing evidence it wasn't usable. I had to pull out of the purchase in the end, wasting months of everyone's time and a not insignificant amount of money. I don't know whether it's ignorance or gaslighting, but I don't appreciate either. Please get staff who care about customers concerns and know their stuff when it comes to housing, rather than trying to push sales through.

Edit in response to reply: As I told you multiple times, the surveyors report and the radon report were separate documents and one did not have any impact on the preparation of the other. The nine day radon test was part of the further investigation, and I requested a longer term test, which was refused. You never provided any hard evidence that the radon levels recorded were 'low', although I can produce multiple sources that state they're unsafe. Do better.

So far Oakmans has been so lovely to work with, in particular Tom on the admin side who was really reassuring and approachable, and Hau on the media side who was experienced and friendly. They have gone above and beyond!

Oakmans have persistently violated the law by entering the property without giving the minimum 24 hours notice throughout the tenancy with no safety issue to use as an excuse. The most recent being the most egregious.

A couple of weeks ago my partner and I were having sex and the agent turned up to the property with prospective tenants to show around. They had sent us notice 30 minutes prior to their arrival and obviously we did not see it anyway as we engaged in the enjoyment of our home.

If you have read the other reviews you’ll note a running theme of creepy men that work at oakmans making weird comments to young women renting their properties or being shown around them.

This Andrew Tate fan was absolutely aware of what was going on in the bedroom- for starters you could throughly gag my partner and you’d still hear the thunderous bounce of my 110kg frame against the bed and the headboard against the wall etc in the neighbours garden. The agent knew what we were doing and they still tried to enter. You could have heard me outside the closed front door to the house.

Apparently at least one of the staff feels entitled to view any tenants that are young student women in their bedrooms naked as and when they like, and indeed bringing a bunch of prospective tenants into the room whilst they did. This is someone whose hard drive needs checking and should not be left alone around women or children. I would be shocked if their DNA is not on a list already.

Not a surprise what kind of men they employ given the multiple reports from tenants on here of being forced to listen to open misogyny by oakmans agents.

I had just finished and had immediately put my head between my partners legs and was somewhat too enthusiastically involved in cunnilingus to notice the attempt to enter the room. As my ears were covered and under some firm pressure from their thighs, I was none the wiser until my partner suddenly shouted “YOU ARE NOT COMING IN HERE!!” which prompted a retreat from said agent I wish had not been so hasty.

Later we found the 30 minute “notice” we had been given.

This is the worst example of their flagrant disregard for the human rights of tenants during this tenancy.

Sadly I didn’t see his face and I don’t know his name. Because in the obvious absence of a decent father in his life, I’d like to explain to him in person why it’s a good idea to behave courteously towards women- and you know, not walk in on them unannounced whilst they are naked like a rapist. I think he would find the education gruelling but beneficial for his long term prospects (clearly for no reason other than his very obvious mental deficits must make learning of any kind incredibly challenging for him. whatever else would I mean).

Don’t rent from oakmans - particularly if you or any of your housemates are a young woman. Young women simply are not safe from the men like this at oakmans.

Hau the photographer was really professional, talked through what was going to happen listened to any concerns we had and also offered suggestions that would help in marketing the property.

Hau came today to take photos etc .Such a lovely young man Told me everything that he was going to do .

(photographer) Hau Voong was on time, professional in appearance and conversation whilst also being very friendly. He explained fully what he needed to do and explained his methodology to me. He went on to take all relevant photos and a 'walk through' video of the property. He showed me a number of the photos to confirm I was happy with the quality.

Wow our lisitng has just gone live and the photos are amazing. Jamie was so respectful of our house and also asked if we needed to remove any personal photos.

We had a fantastic service from everyone at Oakmans, especially Lesley Barnfield. She was absolutely amazing and kept us informed at every stage. It helped us to feel relaxed even when there were delays in the run up to completion.

Dominic was brilliant and made the whole process easy and stress free, offering advice where needed to achieve the best results. Great service!

Oakmans media representative, Lilli, was very professional and friendly. As the weather was too hot to take the dogs out while she was taking pictures & video she managed to continue while accommodating this. Both representatives we have met from Oakmans have been exceptional.
