Avoid this money transfer company. Use Ria, it is more reliable
I made a money transfer through this company with the purpose of humanitarian help for food for Ukrainian army. They asked extra documents to prove income, bank statements and ID. After sending all the documents they refused the payment advising that it is against their T&Cs and ‘List of Banned Industries’ which is not published anywhere on their website and advised that this was because of the reason of the transfer and advised to change it. I have changed the reason, however they rejected the transfer again. Later, I have made another transfer to support my family as they are the victims of Russian aggression and I send them money regularly. Opal asked for more bank statements to "nail" it to the end and waive off questions they may have about my income (even though statements clearly show a lot of savings and they previously cleared questions to my income) and advised lengthy waiting times up to 4 days to get a reply from their manager. Talking to customer services gave an impression they were winding me up with the situation and intentionally were delaying money transfers, even though family help transactions in the past were processed same day. No T&Cs or reference to their ‘List of Banned Industries’ were provided or sent to me via email as promissed by advisor. Will never use this company again. All the good experience I had in years was blown out of the window with this poor customer service and lack of customer care. Lost a client...
