Sadly a Scam

It was too good to be true. Max resigned. After Josh was contantly rebranding. Turns out all the lifetime packets were a scam. Optikservers on its own was never meant to scam. It was such a good hosting. However, the unstable 17 year old Josh had to turn it into some shitty weird stuff.

SCAM ALERT, MUST READ

This company rebrands himself after some time to stop all services, run with your money, and do it name after name, scamming all the people who buy "lifetime" plans or any plan at all. DO NOT BUY ANTHING

Not my experience but based on others i have seen. (AI generated but is the truth.)n.

Data Loss and Outages: Multiple users have reported significant data loss and frequent outages. This has led to users losing important data and having to resubscribe to services that were previously paid for.

Poor Customer Service: There are consistent complaints about the lack of responsiveness from the owner and customer service team. Users have mentioned that their issues are often ignored, and refunds are not provided even when services are not delivered as promised.

Unprofessional Behavior: Reviews indicate that the owner, Josh, has been unprofessional in his dealings with both customers and staff. There are reports of ghosting business partners, being associated with known scammers, and not taking accountability for mistakes.

Financial Mismanagement: Some other reviews suggest that the owner uses the company’s funds for personal lavish spending rather than investing in the business. This has led to a decline in service quality and reliability.

Scam Allegations: Users have explicitly called OptikServers a scam, citing that they did not receive the services they paid for and were unable to get their money back. There are also allegations of the company restarting and wiping all user data without notice.

PS: called this out on the official discord and got banned promptly. This pretty much proves my suspicions.

Best free 24/7 hosting!

OptikServers really outdid themselves with the new management. Setup for my free 24/7 Minecraft server was quick and easy at deploy.optikservers.com, and performance is great. Support for over 50 games, on blazing-fast hardware, with servers in Singapore, Germany, and the U.S., plus Tokyo and India coming soon! Wonderful support

New opening of the Optik Server under new management

I am giving this rating with caution. At this point in time I have not yet gained enough experience with the new team and system. But I'm positive about it and I'm happy if the new owners keep their promises and try to get the server back on track. So give the new owners a chance to prove that they can do it better and feel free to stop by.

Do not use.

The host was never reliable. Your data gets wiped without reason and all (including purchased) resources get lost. Uptime is not as guaranteed and server are more offline and overloaded than online. The host has now been sold which has caused all resources to be gone again. They offer "over 50 games to host" "for free" but everything besides Minecraft servers is for premium users only.
The new owner, which no one actually seems to know, has now also introduced a way to get "1.5k free coins" - by leaving a 5 star review here. Do not use this host. Any paid host is infinitely better and this one is not usable as a free host.

Update: The "new management" is banning every user that says anything against the host. Just another reason to never use it.

My Journey with OptikServers

Hello my fellow people. Some know me in Discord as Mr. Chicken.

I want to say everything I have about OptikServers now.

At first I needed a fast and preferably free hosting solution for my nodejs testing projects. I somehow stumbled upon cortexnodes and from their panel to max's website, where I found OptikServers.
The staff and mods were nice and the prices were really cheap, so as I had enough money on PayPal and it was a really good offer, I paid 12£ for the premium eggs, resources and premium locations - lifetime!
The first months it went really good, The team cared about us and josh even upgraded the hardware from time to time, there were always changes to keep the customers happy and the nodes stable.
But pretty quickly things changed. It began with the free nodes frequently crashing and having really awful performance. The owner team didn't really do anything about it, it stayed like that. Then they forced hibernate onto the free servers, as it may could help (It worked like a week).
But people came, people bought and as the customer count rose the nodes got overwhelmed - also the premium ones, the free nodes were like already dead from that time (I don't even want to talk about them).
Now the premium nodes had the same problems as the free ones - frequent crashing and bad performance (we talk about >15 tps with a few player and way too much resources).
They forced hibernate on premium nodes and upgraded the ram - It seemed like they atleast cared about the premium people..
Then everything was running great and there were no big issues..
On May 2024, the first big change happened - they stopped free hosting... They promised that premium users will be completely unaffected BUT they said they could transition to a pay-per-server model even though we have a promised lifetime.
Of course, a chaos broke out because of that message, everyone wanted to know what happens with optik and what is about the lifetime hosting.. They also had a bad/faulty ToS (copied from Hostaris) that sayed exactly the opposite of what they have offered us - but they didnt care.
In the meanwhile they also sold or transferred Hostaris to a new owner. We got new nodes from new Hosting companies like Hetzner.

But then, everything went downhill. From their side, they said they got a bill from Hetzner for services they didnt use and he didn't pay it. Terabytes worth of user and server data deleted in a matter of seconds. Everyone of course hated Josh - but he didn't care. I literally told him everything I feel about optik and himself. As rude as he is, he even said: "Nobody is going to cry about some diamonds.". Thats just crazy considering its a hosting company with nearly 20.000 people in their discord. I lost a few weeks of data actively beeing played on a community smp.
And, because why not, they also deleted all user data and paid plans, so now we would need to resubscribe... Even though we have been promised lifetime.
Josh also said he won't give refunds, now he said he does. He also said he wont ban me (haha), he did, without particular reason. Seems like you are not allowed to say anything against that company in their discord. Within a few days, they purged the chats a few times because of a massive (deserved) shitstorm. They demoted all mods without reason, banned some without reason and he doesn't even care, thats how heartless he is.
Now, they also purged the whole general chat, 3 years worth of memories deleted into the cloud of discord.
Also, I think all of that was somehow planned and staged, as Josh and Sam did literally always what the other one did. Optik did everything that Cortex was doing and vice versa. Even when Sam sold Cortex, suddenly Optik got slapped with a bill from hetzner. Nobody can tell me this wasnt somehow staged.

For everyone here: Dont buy anything ever again where Josh is somehow involved, because he's the most unpredictable, most awful and heartless person I have ever seen.

I sincerely hope that Josh reads this message but he probably wont, but it won't matter as he heard enough from me and other people.

I really want to thank the Optik Community (Max, Foxy, The Mods and many awesome people) for all the memories and things we went through, bad or good.

I think I have said enough.
Cheers, Mr. Chicken

You know you fcked up when your own staff hates you

You know you fliped up when your own staff says its 1 star, Josh the owner is mentally unstable 17 year old who uses optikservers to purely profit his lavish spending needs. These lavish spending were countered by Max's amazing web development and leadership skills that set optik to sail smooth while not jumping aboard the summerhost ship.
🥲 It was sad to see how optiksevers, A gaint in the small cloud hosting community now become a utter hell hole.

More information about josh's work.

1️⃣ Ghosting his own Business partner, (irl)
2️⃣ Been lazy and ghost costumers.
3️⃣ Not giving refunds and been associated with big scammers in the industry.

😒 If you think im lying please let me know! :D

OptikServers was amazing, but it is not anymore.

Hello there! Foxy is here.

Back in the days in May of 2023 i have registered on the site. Everything was amazing and everything worked well, the servers were stable all the time, outages occured only a few times - due to upgrades.

After all the good - in the past few months OptikServers changed drastically, people had to experience datalosses and massive outages. They also had to resubscribe, because their existing plans got wiped.

The community and the staff team was always amazing and fast...
It was a great time after all.

I want to say thank you for everything, to:
Max (X_Shadow_), Ignited, JoeJoeSpagettio, NightsFall
and of course to each members to the community.

It was a pleasure to be a part of OptikServers! 🫡

Its dead now

Absolutely horrible now, Max has left and Josh is not able to keep up his company, be friendly to people and thinks he's the best at everything. Neither does he care about his customers and mods.

Its the end of Optik.

Total Scam

So recently what they did was, they just told everyone that their host (the place where they get hosting from) has put a huge bill on their face for services they didn't use. So they cleared out ALL the user datas and they just informed us that all our purchases are gone. And we said we have proof of purchase but they said they will not do anything. Total Scam. Don't buy any plans from there. The owners of this hosting are greedy guys. They lied about everything. They lied to us buyers that the data was gone because their hoster didn't give them the backup. They are total scam. Even when we provided them proof, they said, we can't do anything.
