Rip Off for Repair and Painful at the End

Where with Overline for also decade. Service and system initially all worked fine. However, when we had a problem the cost to repair was £250 for a second hand part when one could be purchased on ebay for £30. I don't mind paying for engineers to visit the site but to charge so much for a used part was extortionate. When it came time to leave, we were caught in the year's notice period. Glad to have left them finally would avoid in future.

It looks like the small print gets you…

It looks like the small print gets you in the end. Tied into long contracts with penalties and 90 day notice periods that if not triggered on time run into more years ever though the existing contract has expired!!

Moved us over to VoIP

Overline have just moved us over to VoIP which was a seamless experience, helped but good communication from the sales staff, office staff and the engineer.

How have Overline got any good reviews!

An Ex employee signed a 5 year contract in 2008! 2019 problems started, they admitted they can’t support the system! Manager software obsolete, times and names all incorrect due to staff changes our end that couldn’t be changed as the software wouldn't work. Answerphone service kicking in the incorrect times! IP phones loosing memory and connections! When main unit died could only put in 2nd user unit!
2022, We decide to upgrade as they told me they can’t support the software (Mark Ford) which we have been paying for, They should have stopped charging that aspect when aware of this. They informed me the whole system needed replacing! I agreed and got a quote! When I agreed to the quote a different account manager said the quote was made incorrect by Mark. Craig relooked and then added more on so I declined and got a much more competitive quote elsewhere! I gave notice to Overline! All amicable and they wished me luck in the future!
2 months went by then I got a £1800 bill “Cancellation Charges” I called and questioned to be told as I’ve changed suppliers (not taken there quote) I need to pay the remainder of the contract! I asked why when it’s been 15 years of a 5 year contract! They informed me it was in the original terms on the back of the agreement signed for by a colleague no longer at the company! I’ve asked for a copy! I’ve been given the front side and not yet seen the back with this, so naturally declined to pay! They promised to come to me with the original showing this and I informed them I will pay if that’s the case! (I have emails saying this)
1 month past and I get a solicitors email stating I need to pay or legal action will proceed! The solicitors are clearly used to this with them and spilled out all reasons why I should but AGAIN with no proof of the rear of the contract! They finally asked Overline to email it to me! Well that was great as you can clearly see the signature on the reverse is NOT my colleagues as they sent the front, I naturally questioned why I’ve the rear of someone’s contract that clearly isn’t ours! The solicitor asked them again to send the correct one to which the response was “it takes too much resource” so this isn’t going to happen!
The solicitor then said we’re proceeding with legal as they have answered all my questions! Their terms on the website says rolling and my notice is too late to stop it so I MUST pay 12 months more or it will go further.
How can the latest terms be abided by when it should be the ones at the time of signing a contract! The solicitors Darcey Quigley are not able to get this signed contract so I can see the reverse myself.
So to this day I’ve not seen the contract and they have done nothing since 2019 and charged for a service not received! Please avoid them! They are 5 minutes from my place and can’t walk out with a contract to show me to receive payment! Seems like just dealing with a solicitor trained to follow their lead!

Telephone system upgrade

The company telephone system needed upgrading and the service provided by Overline was efficient from start to finish. The onsite installation team were also very pleasant and professional, offering support wherever it was needed.

Great start, painful ending.

Having happily used Overline for 5 years without any issues, our initial experience of porting away to use MS Teams Voice was great. However, having completed the admin process, their accounts team then applied the small print in the contract T&C's to levy £900 of (un-evidenced) porting charges. We questioned this and were steered back to the T&C's and told these were charges they were passing on at their discretion. Not happy with this reliance on T&C's and refusal to evidence or apply actual costs, hence can only rate them 2 stars.

Thank you for your feedback and we are very sorry that you feel this way, as advised we are adhering to the contract that was signed, and part of that agreement between yourselves and Overline is that if you port your numbers to another provider there is a fee associated to this and this charge is clearly stated on our terms and conditions. The reason your fees are £900.00 is because you have 60 numbers that you are porting away from us and we incur these charges from our supplier this is a fee which is common in the hosted space and not something that we have hidden from you at all. Overline would like to thank you for your business over the years and wish you all the best moving forward.

Top class team and service

Jason and his team installed my broadband, software and phone handsets. I gave them a pretty difficult task of installing it in less than a week to a new office location. They delivered the entire solution a day early - top class. Can’t fault their service, and Leanne in particular pulled out all the stops to help us. Thank you Overline!

Very Happy & Highly Recommended

We have been with Overline for a number of years. Always very helpful when needed (which is rare as no issues with phones or Bband).
We needed to change our Auto Attendant & Out of Office phone messages for the Easter Holiday. Steve Henderson-Smith dealt with & was extremely helpful updating these for us. He even called & emailed me whilst we were closed to confirm that everything was in place & working as we planned.
Great work & very happy. Highly recommended if you are thinking of changing your Business telecoms & broadband provider.

Overline have updated our phone system

Overline have supplied our phone service for a number of years. It was based on a legacy ISDN system that would have needed replacing in the near future but the change was hastened by the control unit dying! Craig from Overline set up a temporary IP based system for us very quickly then managed our transition to a full system in a very short timeframe. He has supported the implementation superbly and we are very pleased with the end product and the support that Craig has offered throughout the process.
