Their quality and price is absolutely second to none. Buying an engagement ring is more than just another purchase, and their customer service is exactly what you want to help you through the process and give you honest assessments.... And of course, the end product was flawless.

I love jewelry. Especially diamond jewelry. But I dont like the dark diamonds that mall jewelers carry and I dont want to pay the mall custom jeweler prices. Mcgivern was a great option and Im so very glad I found them. I ordered a platinum and diamond mens ring for our 20th anniversary to replace my husbands wedding ring. I cant even describe the beauty, weight and diamond quality of the ring. We are floored. I paid less than 3k for what surely would have been 5k for a lesser quality at the mall. Michael was very quick to respond to my questions and sent us an excellent product. Do not hesitate!

This was by far the BEST on line purchasing experience ever! I had never made such a substantial purchase on line before, and certainly had initial reservations, but those were quickly extinguished. The immediate and comprehensive responses to my 101 questions were impressive and honest. Mike McGivern is very knowledgeable, and will give honest feedback even if it is not to his advantage. I designed a ring setting and purchased a 4ct yellow diamond to be set in it. The CAD design process made it possible to see exactly what I was getting, and alterations were NO PROBLEM. The goal at McGiverns was to deliver a perfect, precision design, and they did just that! My ring is AMAZING! If you are hesitating......DON'T. Mike was incredibly helpful and made purchasing an engagement ring and matching wedding band a breeze. I wont lie...I was a little nervous to buy online but Mike's phone and email correspondence put me at ease.

Originally, I bought an engagement ring from McGivern's and they shipped it to me but it turned out that it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. It was beautiful but there were a few features that I knew my fiance would really like to have but this ring didn't have it. I emailed Mike and he was a consummate professional and said: "I'm so sorry it wasn't exactly what you expected...I will GLADLY refund your money but before we do that, is there anyway I can get you EXACTLY what you are looking for." So we talked back and forth and ended up landing on having Mike custom build a ring from scratch to the exact specifications of what I was looking for. The result was stunning.

The first words out of my fiance's mouth when I dropped to one knee and pulled out the ring were: "Holy crap!!!" She was shocked in a very good way. She gets compliments on this custom ring on a regular basis. It is quality custom work and it was very affordable. It looks similar to a Tiffany's ring that would have costed 3 to 4 times the cost of this ring...and did I mention the actual diamonds of Mike's ring are higher quality? Tiffany's (and other name brands) are great but you are paying a ton of extra money for the prestige of the name brand...please know that. People (especially women) are always commenting on the ring and how gorgeous it is. We had a lady the other day who is a jeweler ask us where we got it and asked if it was a Neil Lane ring. Even she was obsessed with it.

When looking for a matching wedding band we had Mike make one that matches perfectly. It is beautiful as well and for a custom job, it is incredibly well priced. Together, they are quite the stunning set of rings.

I highly recommend Mike, McGivern's diamonds, and Overnightdiamonds.com. If you have any hesitations, just call Mike. He gives people his direct phone number and he's the owner. It is hard to find that sort of service these days. He is the owner, they have been in the same location for 30 years in Ohio, they will shoot you straight, be very honest, and deliver on EXACTLY what you are looking for. If they don't get it right the first time they will go the extra mile and do a GREAT job.

I did this review because I want people to have the same experience I had (and my fiance had in saying "Holy crap" when she saw the ring) and NOT because I was payed or told to leave a review.

I bought a diamond from Mike just recently. He was prompt, answered all my questions and gave me an unbelievable deal. He at first told me the diamond with the setting I chose would take three weeks but knowing my time frame pulled some strings and got it to me within a week. The diamond is gorgeous and the appraisal came in well above what I paid. That shows me he is fair with his profit margin and is doing his job of hunting the wholesale market for the best distribution possible. It's fun to find great deals from good trustworthy people. That is the experience with Mike. Give him a shot!

My first experience with McGivern was a dozen years ago when I bought my wife's engagement ring. Mike helped me decide among 3 stones that I favored. His advice maximized my value and not the sale price; I knew then and there he was about customer satisfaction and not profit maximization. I have recently purchased another expensive stone from him and once again his advice was first and foremost for my benefit.
I've recommended him to friends and family and everyone comes away with the same feeling; Mike's advice is never self serving.
How unusual it is to find a merchant who always takes time to talk and coach and whose advice can be trusted without question.

Definitely the best jeweler we've ever worked with! We've purchased a number of pieces from Mike, and worked with him on 2 custom pieces. He always does amazing, beautiful, quality work, and has, by far, the best prices we've been able to find!

I wish I could include a photo! Our most recent piece was a 3 ct. Sapphire ring set in a 1/4 ctw diamond halo, and it is STUNNING! It's definitely the most elegant piece I've ever owned...simple, yet absolutely breathtaking. Even though we were working with Mike from over 2,000 miles away, he was able to create the piece exactly to the specifications we desired, and the finished product was even more beautiful that we'd envisioned!

Mike has an incredibly artistic eye, and his precision and attention to detail are invaluable, particularly in custom work. He will make sure the finished product is EXACTLY what you want, and will work and rework the plan until it is perfect.

Purchased diamond pear shaped earrings from Michael McGivern via the internet. He helped me to find the perfect matching pear shaped stones and set them into lovely 14 k gold studs. They arrived and are perfect and beautiful. Came with an appraisal and GIA report for each stone. Just as I wanted them to be. I have used a few other online diamond vendors and found that Mike's customer service is superior - he answers his calls and emails back very quickly. I will use him again for my next purchase.

We had a man's custom ring made to copy an old CZ one we had, and it was done beautifully. The gold weight exceeded the original one, and the diamonds were as promised, a great quality, and well matched. The ring was finished and sent to us sooner than expected. The pricing was fair and competitive with or better than other vendors. Mike was very prompt to respond to any communication. Felt like we were dealing with an honest and trustworthy company, especially after receiving the completed ring. (This was contrary to previous experience buying a custom ring from another online company.) We would recommend looking at McGivern's first for a diamond purchase.

I shopped extensively for a 30 year anniversary gift for my wife. I spoke with over 20 potential jewelers and narrowed the top firms down to 2. McGivern went the extra mile in many ways - (1) listening to me and what I wanted, (2) worked with me to find the best value diamond including experienced advice in selecting the best stone, (3) working with me to find the best setting, (4) working with me to find a wedding band that blended with the solitaire setting and not fight for attention with it, and (5) all of the above at a price I could afford. I could not ask for better service and performance from a company. If you read this please give Michael a call as he worked with me while overseas to get this done ~ definitely Michael will go the extra mile for his customers.

I recently purchased an engagement ring for my girlfriend at McGivern. The entire experience was phenomenal. I visited a handful of other jewelers and McGivern was different. Michael and his team were extremely informative and helpful; all without any pressure or "salesmanship". Their selection is extensive and their pricing is extremely fair. Mike was very helpful,after months of looking for a engagement ring I spoke to Mike. He explained the 4c's of diamonds ,I questioned him on every aspect of diamond quality and what to look for.Mike took his time answering all my questions and was very helpfull. I recieved the ring within a couple days, however I was dissatisfied with the setting,I called Mike and he gave me the option of a full refund or sending it back a resetting the diamond at no charge.My Fiancé loves her ring and I will continue to do business with Mike.
