A sudden charge appeared on my credit…

A sudden charge appeared on my credit card for $350 from this company I have never heard of and they claimed they provided hosting for a non existent website. Had to file fraud with my bank and luckily got my money back.

Trash Service

Here’s a much stronger, more aggressive version of your feedback, using harsh language to express your extreme frustration:

This was, without question, the absolute worst customer experience I have ever had with a hosting provider, and I feel compelled to warn others away from this incompetent, dysfunctional company.

I placed an order for a VPS on March 2, 2026 (Order #21081855). Their broken, garbage system automatically cancelled the order with a pathetic excuse that the card holder must match the account holder—even though nothing changed on my end. This is a complete joke, especially since I placed a previous order on September 3, 2025, using the **exact same account and payment method**, and it went through without a hitch.

But the incompetence doesn't stop there. Even though they cancelled the order, they still had the nerve to authorize the payment on my card, holding my money hostage for over 12 days now. I received absolutely nothing in return—no service, no product, no refund. Nothing but pure frustration.

I contacted my bank, and they confirmed that only the merchant—this useless excuse for a hosting provider—can release the hold. So my money is effectively trapped in limbo by OVHcloud’s sheer incompetence and indifference.

For a company of their size, this level of service is not just disappointing—it’s an absolute disgrace. They are completely untrustworthy, their systems are trash, and their support is a joke. Do yourself a favor and **avoid OVHcloud at all costs**. They do not deserve your business, and you’ll regret trusting them.

I strongly demand that OVHcloud stop wasting my time, release my payment immediately, and never treat another customer this way—but honestly, I wouldn’t hold my breath. This company is a trainwreck.

I could reach the international support…

I could reach the international support outside the french working hours in week-end that is very confortable. And it was pretty quick.

situazione allucinante ,

situazione allucinante ,, non danno servizio ne rendono i soldi ho preso una vps in usa con loro ma era in canada con ritardo di 175 msec ,, impossibile lavorare ,,interactive lag 10 sec !!! lentissima , gia mettere la pass era un incubo ,, node overloaded mai usata ho chiesto refund ,per ,CPU steal saturation / overselling ,,,negato !! solo bonus per un altro servizio decurtandomi 23 $ per aver aperto 20 minuti la vps , tutto dimostrato ,, veramente veramente persone disoneste ,, il servizio clienti e' solo una presa in giro , tanti sorry e please ma mai risolto nulla di tecnico ,,negato il refund di una cosa impossibilitato ad usare per una carenza loro !!!! ditta da evitare , ora mi trovo un bonus che non so come usare ,,per non parlare delle paranoie che hanno chiedendoti foto e video e blocchi accesso allucinanti ,, mai piu ,, mai piu @us.ovhcloud.com e' dal 23 01 2026 che sto cercando di lottare per riavere i mei soldi ,, shocking situation,, they don't provide service nor do they make money I took a vps in the USA with them but it was in Canada with a delay of 175 msec,, impossible to work,,interactive lag 10 sec!!! very slow, already putting the pass was a nightmare,, node overloaded never used I asked for a refund for CPU steal saturation / overselling,,,denied!! only bonus for another service deducting $23 for having opened the vps for 20 minutes, everything demonstrated,, really truly dishonest people,, the customer service is just a joke, many sorry and please but nothing technical has ever been resolved,, denied the refund of something unable to use due to a shortage on their part!!!! company to avoid, now I find myself a bonus that I don't know how to use,, not to mention the paranoia they have asking you for photos and videos and shocking access blocks,, never again,, never again @us.ovhcloud.com I've been trying to fight to get my money back since 01 23 2026,, IT'S YOUR FAULT THAT I COULDN'T USE YOUR SERVICE BUT YOU DON'T GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK, I'VE NEVER USED YOUR CLOU BUT YOU DON'T GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK, YOU DEDUCT $23 AND NOW I HAVE A $77 BONUS??? Great support and easy refund process!

I like the services offered and very…

I like the services offered and very stable VPS. After, requesting to Cancel my commitment as I no longer needed that they supported me and cancelled the commitment with no issues without letting me pay the full commitment.

OVH - cheap and supports a lot of domains but...

Update:
I wanna make a fair assessment - after I was angry at OVH. (original review below)

Pros:
- supports a lot of TLDs (.de, .fr, .se, .fi, etc.)
- usually cheap, with fair renewal rates
- domains can be transferred for free between OVH accounts. (Using Gemini)

Cons:
- customer care is almost impossible to access. 99% is just faq posts or AI redirecting to faq posts.
- nameserver update was slow to propagate
- dashboard feels buggy, often out of sync (Some of my urls are randomly not listed. They are accessible, if I url-hack. Sometimes I get a blank white screen when I try to log in.)
- renewal prices are not listed on the dashboard nexst to the domain, can be accessed externally through as advised by Gemini

Original post:

I had two issues that make OVH a cheap, but not very comfortable partner for me:
- When changing nameservers, my sites went down for two days. (Other registars somehow usually solved it in two hours...)

- The customer care is almost impossible to get.
They forced me to get a "Spanish" account because I am a Spanish business, and then they charged me IVA because their system does not handle IGIC and thus I could not write in my VAT number.
Now, when I managed to somehow trick the system to talk to me, they asked for a range of documents to prove that I am the business that I am, then no response whatsoever.

Update on the original post:
After my review, I got response from OVH.
They did update me not to charge me IVA - unfortunately their system does not seem to be equipped to handle IGIC (which even in the response Liam didn't seem to understand that it is not a VIES VAT and thus it cannot be validated as ES+IVA number), so they put my number into the "Intra-community IVA" which it isn't but I looked it up and it is the correct decision not to charge me IVA.

On the other points: OVH-s dashboard does seem to fight hard not to give access to customer care and the particularities of the Spanish tax system are not addressed well.
For the contrast: I use more domain registars, including Rackforest.hu and Cyberfolks.hr, where I could just directly place a message, and in case Rackforest didn't provide a feature on the dash (the DS), they did it for me in a couple hours via email.
Because now I have two accounts (due to the incompatibility), and on the older account I can still not deduct IVA, and it is super hard to access the customer care, if it makes financial sense, I'll move those domains to a different registar instead of trying to fight OVH.
So, all in all, I updated my valuation to 3.

At the end of the day, OVH still is a registar with good prices, and I just bring my nameservers to CloudFlare anyway, and then the registar doesn't play much of a role from then on - unless billing and cost deduction but it is fairly negligable even if they are not the best in it.

I made a silly billing mistake, but Mariyam was able to explain what I did wrong, and helped me switch my billing to an automatic bill to prevent it from happening again.

Simply put, Mariyam is the best - thanks OVH!

Excellent support and attention.

In our discussion with Ornella D. regarding ticket number CS15301800 on the OVH platform, they were extremely helpful. We collaborated wonderfully on the process of issuing a retrospective invoice and arranging a refund. They did an absolutely excellent job, and we are very grateful for their support.

Nonexistant customer service

The customer service is simply nonexistent.

I haven't been able to access my Outlook inbox after a missed payment, and despite settling the overdue payment, I'm still not able to access it.

I have tried to contact them through several channels, but the result is always the same: "just figure it out and go read the guides".

They take your money, then block your services, and when you need help, the advisor on the online chat doesn’t even wait for you to reply. They end the conversation and the bot tells you to go read their manuals.

This is preposterous!!!!!!!

I do not recommend them AT ALL. Complete waste of money!
