Payfast, Absolutely Pathetic

Payfast, Paygate are the worst flipping companies to entrust your credit card transactions through. There support is absolutely non existent, as for employees such as Adriaan Cronje, Shaaiq Roubain, as ten leads, you just can never get hold of these people. Spent in the order of 40 minutes on the phone, trying to get hold of these two for some help, but as for the support staff, well that is another complete stuff up. Please keep your credit card processing away from these bunch of clowns.

Customer support is poor

Customer support is poor, very poor. Firstly, their response time is unbelievably slow for a company that facilitates a web-based payment channel. Secondly, their knowledge is support of the software is poor.

Pay Fast is Taking people's money for themselves.

I have paid my service provider who uses Pay Fast. It's over three weeks now and the payment has not been cleared into my service provider's account. They have held on to the funds claiming it's fraud. I am the one who paid and I trust my service provider because we have been doing business for a long time.

Pay Fast is a scam. They are holding on to my money for no good reason.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to use Pay Fast as you will regret it.

Pay fast can't process payments on time

Pay fast can't process payments on time. After payment they hold the funds claiming they are still investigating fraud. Eventually they will block your account and retain the funds for themselves. They are the worst payment gateway I have ever known.

If you wish to do business fast and swiftly, Please avoid using PayFast as you will end up frustrated and losing valuable business.

They take long to reply to emails and don't answer calls.

75% of payments are announced as unsucessful

75% of all the payments I made via Payfast were announced as a failure, however, the amounts came out of my account immediately.
You cannot get hold of anyone and when you finally get an answer, they simply tell you to call the shop where you bought things online.
That is the lousiest payment service ever.
If this happens over the weekend you will have to wait at least 3 days before you finally get a confirmation.

It is time that Payfast is taking its service seriously. Other services do go the extra mile. I will certainly advise any shop to go over to the competitor.

PayFast: A Decline in Service That Hurts Merchants

We have been long-standing customers of PayFast for many years, utilizing their services across three of our online stores. However, our recent experience with their customer support has been nothing short of appalling.

In mid-October, the new owners of our store initiated contact with PayFast to resolve a critical matter. I personally followed up on October 22, expecting timely assistance, especially given our history with the company. Unfortunately, 5 weeks later, the issue remains unresolved, despite repeated follow-ups.

This level of neglect is completely unacceptable for any service provider, let alone one entrusted with handling online transactions. It’s deeply disappointing to see the significant decline in the quality of PayFast's customer service.

What’s most frustrating is the lack of urgency or accountability shown by their team (Ishraq, Monique & co). As a business, we rely on our payment processor to be responsive and efficient, yet PayFast has failed to deliver on even the most basic expectations.

This delay is not just frustrating - it's harmful. Many of the negative reviews about PayFast echo similar experiences, particularly from smaller merchants who are already struggling to get by. These businesses often rely on timely payouts to cover operating costs, yet are left waiting for weeks, sometimes months, due to inefficiencies like the ones we’ve encountered.

For a payment processor, this is unacceptable. Merchants place their trust in PayFast to ensure their funds are accessible when needed, not held up indefinitely due to poor service and lack of responsiveness.

We will be actively seeking alternative payment solutions and cannot, in good conscience, recommend PayFast to anyone. If you're considering PayFast, be warned: delays and poor communication seem to have become the norm, not the exception.

It’s time for PayFast to take these issues seriously and prioritize the needs of the merchants who rely on them. Until then, their service risks causing more harm than good.

Payout request

Wow, I am disappointed it has been 3 months they have been saying they will verify the account but nothing yet I have over 6k cause clients placed orders but are still unable to request payout. Am always taken for a ride, I have submitted the same documents time and time again over 10 times and have not been assisted yet.

I am not allowed to login

Hello,

It has now been over three weeks without access to our Payfast Dashboard. Each time we attempt to log in, we're redirected back to the login screen. Despite multiple efforts to resolve this with Jade and Tommy Lee, it has become evident that the support team lacks the necessary skills to address the issue effectively. The matter has been escalated more than five times, with over seven support tickets opened, yet we have received no feedback.

When the case was further escalated to Faghmee, the situation only worsened, leaving us without a resolution. Since Payfast is our primary payment provider, this issue has significantly impacted our ability to operate our business efficiently.

I’m sharing this as a caution for other businesses to consider having a secondary payment solution, as relying solely on Payfast has proven challenging due to their lack of commitment to resolving critical issues.

This is the worst payment gateway on the market.

Please avoid at all costs. There is no support or service so when you have issues like when payments going missing or for some reason do not appear but customers have been debited then you are left out to dry.

This company cares nothing about you. It has no respect for their customers and their customers customers. By the time you read this it will probably be too late for you and I am sorry for that.

Multiple System Failures

I am a Payfast Merchant and for several months now Payfast has failed to send through ITN on clients payments, leaving me with cancelled transactions on my website and clients who have paid. Since I sell tickets for events this has caused huge issues. Every month Payfast simply says "oh sorry" but still take their commission and leaves me sorting angry and dissapointed clients.

NOT RECOMMENDED

PayFast is refusing to refund the funds in my wallet to my bank account even though I have submitted everything they have asked for. This issue has been ongoing for 3 months now and I am still waiting for an explanation or confirmation of my refund being processed. They only respond to my public reviews for people to see but not my emails and Facebook messages I have sent them. I am extremely disappointed and do not recommend this service at all. I bet they will not even compensate for this horrible experience because they do not value their clients at all. NOT RECOMMENDED

If there was a way I could rate 0 or -100 I would. Payfast is such a PainFast, if you want to be broke trust these guys with your business. I lost everything (my customers were not able to transact) after changing my banking details, the account was never verified and now it's more than 5 months of sending emails, calling, and using the chatbot etc they don't respond. They don't have customer service I regret signing up with them and I would never recommend anyone to use payfast, you should try Ozow and others. Don't even attempt to go to their Sign Up page you will cry. STAY AWAY FROM PAYFAST

WORST experience and I lost store revenue

After having my account verified over email, I was still receiving abandoned checkout notices due to customers being unable to make payments. After logging in to my dashboard, I saw that my account had STILL not been verified. I upgraded to a merchant account, hoping that this verification process would be smoother. It's been over a week now, and I have yet to receive any feedback. Not only that, but I have tried the chatbot (somehow, their support team is NEVER online), direct email to the support team, as well as phone calls, and I have not received a single bit of feedback. Not only have I lost out on revenue due to an appalling lack of customer service, but I'm still waiting on feedback. This is honestly the worst experience I've had, and I'll be closing my account today. What an absolute waste of time, effort, AND money.

The only reason we 'trusted' this store and made an online purchase with them is because we saw PAYFAST was their payment gateway, which we trusted!!! assuming that PAYFAST would never involve its business with the complicit grand theft of thousands of customers! what we are doing next is contacting all the s‎ c‎ a‎ m‎ m‎ e‎ d customers to launch a class action lawsuit against Payfast for doing this! Payfast will be shut down over this.
