Founded in 2010, with the aim of creating healthier, more natural, sustainable mints and gum, we have now sold close to 20 million packs worldwide! // BETTER MADE, BETTER FOR YOU: Our mints and gum are sweetened with 100% plant based xylitol to help keep teeth healthy. They are full of actively good, naturally derived ingredients. No chemical nasties or animal derived junk. // 100% PLANT BASED XYLITOL: Yes, that's right, we only use xylitol to make our mints and gum taste nice and sweet. We know that it sounds a bit funny, but it's actually a clever little ingredient that helps keep your teeth healthy by clearing away bacteria and plaque in the mouth. Even better news, it comes from trees and plants. Hooray. // REAL PLANTS NOT CHEMICAL PLANTS: When it comes to the other ingredients in our mints and gum, we like to steer clear of stuff like artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. That's why we use proper British mint and real Sicilian lemons to make them taste so great. Plus we use tomatoes to give our strawberry pastilles their nice pink colour. // SUGAR FREE AND LOW CALORIE: Luckily, the xylitol that we use to replace sugar in our products has 40% fewer calories than sugar itself. This means that in a whole pack of Peppersmith mints there's only 36 calories. Plus, xylitol has a low GI of 7 so is suitable for diabetics too. // NO ASPARTAME. NOT NOW. NOT EVER.: Aspartame. That nasty artificial sweetener that's in lots of diet fizzy drinks. We don't need it to make our mints and gum taste good and neither do you. // BACKED UP BY SCIENCE: Don’t just take our word for it, we’re endorsed by lots of dentists across the UK and the Oral Health Foundation. We are also approved by the European Food Safety Authority who have done lots of studies on xylitol and teeth. // OUR MISSION: We pride ourselves in trying to be a sustainable as possible. This is not always easy but where we can choose a more sustainable option we will. We are not perfect but we are trying hard to protect this planet we call home. If you have any requests or suggestions regarding our packaging please do let us know.

Great chewing gum, fresh and lasts! Sugar free and great tasting!

I’ve been a loyal subscriber for five years, but something about the mints now tastes off. It seems they’ve changed the recipe to include sodium carboxymethylcellulose (which doesn’t sound particularly natural) and perhaps removed some of the original, more wholesome ingredients.
Combined with the fact that their chewing gum is now made with plastic rather than natural gum, I no longer see a reason to stay with this brand. It feels like Peppersmith has lost its way and drifted from the natural values that made their products so special.

I have been using these mints religiously for the last 6 months, having struggled to find good quality xylitol mints in this country. They are delicious & make my teeth feel noticeably cleaner as well as less sensitive. I would highly recommend.

This company seems to deliberately omit a comma in the ingredients. They say 'Xylitol (OATS) gum base,...' making it sound as if xylitol is a gum, and forms the basis of the product, whereas it should read 'Xylitol (OATS), gum base,...' and they could make it a great deal more obvious that the gum base is plastic, especially since they used to advertise their use of natural gum.
I have also recently read that xylitol can increase the capacity for blood to clot (the opposite effect to 'thinning' the blood), increasing the risk of a heart attack or stroke. This may only be relevant if rather high doses are consumed, but I personally will avoid unnaturally concentrated xylitol in future.
"INGREDIENTS
Sweetener: Xylitol (OATS) gum base, Peppermint Oil, Natural Menthol, Natural Mint, Thickener: Gum Arabic, Emulsifier: Lecithin, Stabiliser: Glycerol, Glazing Agent: Carnauba Wax."

Great gum, and then you realise it still contains plastic and no amount of plastic in our mouths is good... microplastics! Plopped these in the bin as I they didn't make it clear that 'gum base' meant plastic gum.

BEWARE
Cannot cancel subscription!
If you think you can cancel at any time as it says, you’re wrong. They don’t let you until you have ordered 3 times through the subscription supposedly. So now I’ll have to wait for these 3 times, waste £70 each time and then I will make it my mission to spread the word about this absolutely appalling service and misleading info.
They will say ‘it’s in our Ts and Cs’ bla bla. I read every time I subscribe to something. It’s a lot of money for me to spend and not to have read them.
So follow my advice and STEER CLEAR from the subscriptions they offer!

If I could give Peppersmith 20 out of 10 for customer service I would. Their products are perfect for anyone who loves mints or gum and is trying to cut some sugar out of their lives in a healthy way.
But my main reason for leaving this review is to give a shout out to Sandra, one of Peppersmith's customer service Smiles team. When a delivery courier they use left a parcel in an unsafe place and it was ruined by rain, I got some of the most empathetic and personal customer service I've ever received, sadly a rarety in today's age.
Sandra got the re-order sent with a different courier straightaway, then even followed up to find out how they'd done, and if everything was okay.
All of Sandra's emails were personal communications, friendly, conversational, listening, empathising, understanding. So unlike the scripted replies you get from many companies who pay lip service to customer service, then expect a glowing review because their bot sent you a message. Best of all, I didn't even get a request from Peppersmith to leave a review or feedback. Which is exactly why I've leaving this glowing review.
If Peppersmith could bottle Sandra and sell her to other companies, they'd make a fortune. :-)

12 packets of mints delivered in September with a use by date of November. Nobody can possibly consume that amount and they do go stale. Last time the mints were much fresher

Very efficient delivery operation of a great product. Can't give them 5 stars because I am a Yorkshire man and don't allow myself to be overemotional.
