I never have problems with any claims I have submitted on behalf of our pet. Reimbursements are timely and always accurate. Pet First Insurance -- you'll be in good hands with them!

Pet First is Excellent!

Every time I submit a claim it is reviewed, and I am informed of their decision in an appropriate timeframe. Also, I was advised by a trusted employee that I could upgrade my pet insurance due to my pets' ages. I have recommended this insurance to other pet owners.

Petfirst insurance

Have had the accident/illness plan for years. It seemed like a money pit but certainly pays off as your pet ages and has more medical issues. The company is honest and filing is all electronic with my Vet.

This is the real deal!

This is the best pet insurance on the market! They make claim submission, review and payment fast, easy and seamless. I am so grateful that the Humane Society recommended it. This is better than most people's health insurance. If you have a new pet, or even an aging one, please make the call and check it out. You will be so thankful you did!

Amazing!

I have 5 Dogs and unfortunately had a few claims. Pet First has always paid with in 2 weeks of submitting. They have always provided excellent customer service when I have called for any reason. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for pet insurance!

Incredible

Staff is friendly and sincere. The company is honest and stands by their word. My reimbursements have been delivered in a timely manner and without question. I have recommended this company to everyone who will listen to me.

if i could give less than zero stars i would

This Insurance company is like ALL other Insurance companies.
They wil DENY DENY DENY your claim.
Please do NOT waste your money. Use a savings account instead this is a wiser decision and will save you the money thrown away at a Pet First policy.
I should know I am a veterinarian who has had to deal with DENIED claims from my clients. I've also dealt with the company with NO sucdess and been hung up on by Danielle.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY please!

We do try to pay as many claims as possible, but they must be coverable incidents based on the policy coverage. We are a regulated industry and we are required to obtain proper documentation and diagnosis in order to pay claims, and cannot deviate from those guidelines. PetFirst loses claims! What a disorganized and unresponsive company.

PetFirst Pet Insurance has been the most disorganized and unhelpful service I have ever had the misfortune of paying for. Prepare to babysit their claims department every step of the way.

After you submit a claim, you can’t see the documents you uploaded. You’ll never see what PetFirst received from you through the online portal, either. How convenient. I had to constantly follow up with PetFirst to confirm which claims had been received and which ones needed to be resubmitted. Even though I submitted most of my claims in one sitting, a couple still managed to get lost somehow.

The breaking point for me was when PetFirst emailed a notice about my dog’s medical records. A PetFirst rep had already confirmed that my dog’s records had been received weeks ago. A few minutes after receiving that first notice, I received an email claiming that PetFirst wished to “recall” that notice. Minutes later, I received the same notice about missing medical records again. On the phone, a PetFirst rep told me to just ignore the emails and just trust the records had been received. That doesn't inspire confidence at all.

I’ve sent PetFirst a heartfelt email about my experience. Unsurprisingly, I have yet to receive a response. Ironic how the company has someone replying to negative reviews here but not in their inbox.

I will be going out of my way to warn people about PetFirst. Having a sick pet is stressful enough without this incompetent insurance company.

Thankful for PetFirst

My cat Daisy was climbing on the counters and cabinets like she always did to look out the window in the kitchen, but this time she lost her footing and landed on the floor. I thought she was ok until that night she came out to eat and I noticed she was limping. I got nervous and rushed her to the vet, Daisy had fractured her hind leg and a fever. After the X-rays and the emergency visit I racked up over a $2,000 vet bill. Thankfully I had insurance with PetFirst to receive reimbursement for the bill. Daisy is an inside cat and I never thought about her getting hurt, but now I know things can happen at any time. Thank you PetFirst

Huge Relief With Petfirst

Our sweet Buddha has had some extensive eye issues - needed a very expensive surgery and follow up appointments at a specialist every few months. Petfirst has been amazing at walking us through the process and getting us reimbursed much quicker than we thought, which is important when you've had about a $10,000 vet charge on your credit card. It's been a huge relief knowing we can take care of him thanks to Petfirst.

Very helpful

My poor baby had several infected teeth, I've been a policy holder for about a year now and he's never had troubles with his teeth before, perfect check ups every year! Until his most recent visit where we found some new build up, so without hesitation I scheduled my appointment. He had teeth extracted due to infection in the bone, the dreaded periodontal disease! I submitted my claim with all of his notes that the doctors office gave me. In a short time, I think it was 2 weeks, I was notified that my claim had been processed and approved! I was very relieved knowing that my baby boy was healthy again and the Finacial help was very appreciated!

Outstanding Pet Insurance Coverage.

All three of my Berneses Mountain Dogs have Pet First Health Insurance for the past 3-5 yrs. I have never had a problem filing a claim and getting reimbursed. The policies have given me a lot of piece of mind.

PefFirst really puts Pets First!

I was afraid I would not be able to afford to take care of my senior dog's health concerns after having to euthanize my senior cat the same week. They walked me through the options and I was reimbursed nearly 75% of my dog's expenses. Thankyou. It made a difference in her life and mine!
