Complete shambles

Complete shambles, do they even have any customers ? DNA testing could be next level for ID clearance followed by blood testing and witness signatures to secure access into accounts.

Absolute joke

Absolute joke. They changed my account settings so my preferred currency was USD on a UK players account. Therefore, when I deposited and withdrew money I lost money due to the conversion rate, bearing in mind the games I played were in pounds. It is shocking and disgusting that they did this. Closed account immediately once my withdrawal cleared.

Account frozen .Read before joining Poker stars

So , here's a warning to anyone considering using this site \app \ company .
I've played poker for a number of years . I've grown accustomed to bad beats , but let it go .
Until the other day when I got wiped in two hands , by a man who hit two FH in two hands . So despite me picking up two. decent hands inc a flush , I stood no chance against the ridiculous luck of one player , who could do no wrong .
So tired of this last kick in the teeth , I put in a request to withdraw my funds to close the account .
At the same time I put in a complaint to the company in a message , saying I wasn't happy about the odds of this one player hitting two FH in two running hands . He had already hit multiple hands against other players on this bounty table .
I also listed other suspicions I have about previous hands .
So roll on the next morning my account has three notifications on phone app . I go to log in to check what's been sent to me , my app \ account is frozen . Notification says contact support email for help 🤔.
I email support email for info ,& get an automated email back . Now check this out , the automated email response is " this email is no longer used for contacting poker stars , so you need to log into your phone app to contact t support .
Which completes a nice circle of , we don't want to acknowledge you exist . Because the apps frozen ,and the very email I'm asked to contact , sends me back to the app that's frozen !!!!
So now , I can't complain , can't contact them ,& have no way of knowing at this moment , whether or not they are going to release the small bank of funds I had on the site .
And all this because I dared to question poker stars credibility .
So you have been warned . Poker stars doesn't take kindly to having it's credibility questioned .
Their petty response of freezing my account , so I can't contact them at all , is the result of me asking a legitimate question and airing my concerns .
Which , if I'm honest , answers a question I have pondered for a number of years regarding online poker in general . Is it a scam . And although I know luck can run with you or against you , a fact I've always accepted with a decent amount of common sense .
But if you are a legitimate site , why freeze my account . I'm not a threat . I simply asked a question many people before me have asked about the odds of the games played .
Instead of just saying thanks for playing , sorry your leaving . ( Your now regarded as the enemy) . And we have blocked all any any attempts for you to contact us .
I'm going to stick to live events from now on . I'm done with online .
If a company is willing to do anything to avoid answering questions about their activities , you know it's not to be trusted .

I have been playing poker for over 10…

I have been playing poker for over 10 years live tournaments and online on many sites. Winning and losing is part of the game. But never have I seen or experienced so much bad beat or BS like Pokerstars.
I am glad now there are way better platform like GGPoker which I spent most of my time on. They have way better tournaments and better pay structure and way more fun to play on. You will have a fairer game there, you still have the bad beat but nothing compare to Pokerstars! Pokerstars is a complete Joke!

Pokerstars - deliberately withhold withdrawal

Pokerstars let's you create an account, deposit and play but ONLY WHEN you want to WITHDRAW, do they flag your account (convenient isn't it). Instead of being able to log in you are left with a message which says you are locked out, can you contact customer support. Instead of leaving you with access to the account, so you could contact the support team easily from an internal portal/messaging system, they completely LOCK YOU OUT, making you have to figure out their myriad of deliberately confusing instructions which are clearly designed to make you give up and not regain access, so they can keep your deposit. See the TEN STEPS I went through that took nearly two hours, which could have taken 5-10 minutes with better instructions.

Step 1: They first ask you to contact the customer support team. But this email DOESN’T WORK.

After emailing the contact support email address, you get a response back which says
"Dear ...........,
This email address is no longer active. If you have anything you want to ask us, contact our Support team.
They are available anytime on our 24/7 Messenger Help channel. All you have to do is log into your account and go to our help center.
Website/Mobile: Account → Help → Contact Us
Desktop: Help → Contact Us"
--
(They lock you out, then say to login!!)

Step 2: Find 'chat to agent' box on website. So you go to the website, and try and find the contact form/chat box (go to pokerstars.uk - see if you find it in under 2 mins). When you've found the chat system, you have to select from 10 different options which at 8am this morning sent me round and round in circles when I selected account >> restricted account. Not sure if that was a glitch or deliberate. I had to contact the technical team instead.
Step 3: Contact the technical team. So I then had to contact the technical team, who made me first fill out a load of information.
Step 4: Enter info to technical team such as name, date of birth, Device used to log into the account, email address, address, year I started the account, before then telling me to upload THREE documents via a form which they didn't provide a link to ( I had to ask).
Step 5: understand instructions of what they're asking for and collect information.
They want to see:
1. a full bank statement (with screenshot of URL from the online web page). You have to get all your bank details such as number machines, passwords etc to access your bank. A full bank statement Is a private document - asking for this is designed to put people off who don’t want to reveal their statement information.
2. photographic ID (standard/expected)
3. photograph of the first and last digits of your card used for payment. This is also unreasonable. Many people do not use/carry physical cards. They also don't need this if they have the bank statement they can either see that the deposit has been made, or they can verify it through your sort code and account number. This is an additional step to prevent you from withdrawing.
Step 6: Upload information to their online form
Step 7: Check emails for auto response (nothing). Pokerstars don't even send you an email to confirm that they have received your form and to tell you how long it may take. You are left not knowing whether they even got your form.
Step 8: contact customer service to ask if they got the form and to check how long it will take.
Step 9: Re-enter all information in Step 4 (name, date of birth, Device used to log into the account, email address, address, year I started the account)
Step 10: I get get told it will take around 72 hours and you just have to check your email for a response. Nothing in my email since submitting the form this morning.

Conclusion:
It's completely unethical / immoral to accept deposits from people, allow them to continue to deposit and then lock their account upon their withdrawal request. If they had an issue with your account, they should flag BEFORE depositing and certainly BEFORE playing. They let you deposit and RISK LOSING the money, but when you want to withdraw it, it's VERY convenient how they then check that you are passing all of their criteria. This is NOT about ensuring people are gambling online safely. This is about preventing you from withdrawing. The steps to verify are also completely unreasonable, deliberately confusing and go above and beyond what most banks ask for.

I was playing in pokerstars about 5…

I was playing in pokerstars about 5 years and suddenly I get email that I am unable to withdraw and I should send them documents to verify my account in case I was withdraw without any issue over 5 years. I have waited 10 days to get this email and it was sent after I talked in online chat. Seems they will never send me that request if I will not contact them in online chat. This is very bad customer service from their side and I will not recommend you deposit in this casino.

I deposited £10 once and it didn't even give me enough for an $11 game even though my dad used to be a taxi driver and he knows everything. I then deposited another £10 but when the 2 deposits were added together, it ended with an odd number!!!! So they have at least scammed me of 1c which I was gonna spend on bitcoin and now i would have £60,000. Please avoid this site. P.s I was the true community member d2s. So rigged

Restricted account - making it impossible

Used the site for around 3 months constantly lost, had one win and went to withdraw, they restricted my account so can't log in

Said I have to send proof of every card even though one doesn't exist, proof of address

They have refused 12 documents just for my address including, bank statements, payslips, government letters, benefit letters

They even went as far to say that 2 of my payslips where not genuine and they think they've been edited, surely that's not legal

I even did a screen recording showing me accessing my payslips on my phone and downloading them so they know its legit, they didn't acknowledge that at all

It's been ongoing for a week now with emails all day

THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR DOCUMENTS THEY ARE FRAUDELENTLY TRADING, DO NOT USE!!!!

Have written before i'm sure

Have written before i'm sure. Now i've played at Pokerstars 12 years. How can it be so hard to make a profit now compared to 7/8 years ago. It feels like a slot site, they'll let u win a few hands to start with then the bad beats keep happening and I never thought this site was rigged. I hope its still random and the rewards for loyal players is terrible. 2 stars is generous.

Awful company - Avoid

Awful company, awful customer service who think they can hold onto your lonely that you won fair and square. This is a ongoing issue which they still haven't resolved.

I have sent them every single document they require/have requested to verify my qccount but now they just ignore my emails and the love chat function is a waste of time too.

I am sending them emails every 30 minutes now.

Terrible software and customer service, play elsewhere

The software was glitching and dealing face down cards so i was just losing money on blinds. Contact customer service and they reply saying the software needs updating, which when trying causes it to crash every time, they then ignore any further contact. Definitely playing anywhere else in future

Long standing customer, or I was….

Long standing customer, zero issues. Received an email Months ago stating if I’d ever been stopped using a range of websites mine would be blocked in 7 days - nothing happened. All of a sudden I’m on to win $1k in a promotion and they block me. The reason being, I closed my Paddy Power account due to poor service (nothing to do with any safer gambling measures) and Paddy Power have me down as a ‘permanent self exclusion’, which classes under their T’s & C’s 🤷🏼‍♂️ Paddy Power unwilling to discuss, say they only have 1 option for any account closure

Find some where else to play if you can

Find some where else to play. 10 years ago this was the absolute pinnacle, now all they do is run it into the ground. The rewards get worse and worse but more alarmingly the software gets worse and worse as well. Constantly removing useful features, adding useless features and changing the old snappy clean software for a bloated laggy unclean version.

Edit: oh ye, the support is also dreadful nowadays.
