Good to use in Australia and Thailand. Now need it for Mexico except the card doesn't do Peso. I am disappointed as I have to make alternative arrangements.

Appalling Customer Service

Had a travel card with approx 150 euros scammed in Dubai. At first Post Office was helpful and notified me about stolen funds. However, trying to recover the monies and corresponding via emails and multiple telephone calls, I have to report how unprofessional and inept the customer service department is. Every single phone call and email was dealt with by a different contact every single time. Nobody followed up and actually dealt with my queries. The matter was pushed around with no one resolving the matter. Very poor customer service.Eventually it was resolved, they refunded the money back but in Dubai currency !! After more chasing by myself it eventually was returned in sterling. I have now closed my account and requested my data be removed from their system.

I wouldn't recommend the Post Office card. I used it to make a cash withdrawal in Spain, and Spanish banks not only charged me between £7 and £4.99 to withdraw Euros (e.g a 60 Euro with drawl cost 64.99), but when i got back to the UK i found that the Post Office had also charged me for a cash withdrawal..so charged twice just to withdraw money.
By comparison last year when i used another company to withdraw Euros on their card, i wasnt charged a single cent extra...so i know who i will be using next holiday abroad...certainly NOT the Post Office.

Post office money is a godsend if you’re travelling. Prior to having one l have been caught out with banking fees for using my normal debit card. Using and topping up is easy, you don’t have to worry using it abroad, you convert the money topped up and it instantly converts the exchange rate so you don’t have to think or worry about nasty banking fees. Best of all, their customer service is 24 hours so you can call anytime anywhere is you need help or support with anything, and customer service is actually a human being you’re speaking with. Something that is dying a death these days. One of the best things you can purchase if you’re travelling hands down.

Shocking service

Shocking service. I ordered my currency for delivery to my local Post Office. The order clearly states that the money will be there for collection at 1pm. At 1.30pm I drive to the post office and they know nothing about it and were extremely unhelpful. No offer to call me when it arrives or to attempt to track where my money is or anything like that. They took my money yesterday and now I have nothing, not even my original money for holiday. It's really dispicable. Avoid the Post Office Exchange at all costs, literally. It may be a fair rate but that's irrelevant if you have lost all your money for holiday.

I can confirm that I had already called the Currency Exchange number and all they could say is that the money is on the way to the sorting office, not even to my local post office so they couldn't help either. Shocking.

I have used my card in Italy

I have used my card in Italy, France, Netherlands, Spain and Croatia without a problem. I’ve taken cash from ATMs - paid in restaurants, for taxis, in many shopping outlets and cafes. Only problem was remembering the pin for bigger payments. I would recommend it as an easy option, so long as you have some cash for the smaller independents who may not accept it for lack of the technological investment.

I find the USA dollar Cashcard extremely useful and convenient . The app gives a real time update of spending and there is no currency exchange commision charge to each transaction as there would be with most credit cards. I have never had the card declined.

Makes a change from Travellers Cheques!

Last travelled when Travellers Cheques were the default to take funds (not cash) abroad, so thought this currency agnostic Travel Money card was superb. Great that the app lets you see transactions and balance anywhere and now I’m home I can continue to buy purchases in the country I visited which won’t accept UK credit cards for payment.

Two failed attempts when using card abroad…

After one holiday when the card didn't work due to lack of instructions re the removal of the label over the chip I tried again the following year. This time it did not recognise the pin number I had changed it to so was again unusable whilst away and I had to have a replacement card on return to redeem the cash in the UK. I can see no advantage with this over using my usual debit abroad which did not incur charges for normal card purchases

The Post Office Travel Card is…

The Post Office Travel Card is convenient and easy to use abroad, which is a definite plus. However, the exchange rates are significantly less competitive than the rates available elsewhere, meaning you get noticeably less for your British pounds.
For me, the convenience doesn’t outweigh the financial difference. I would definitely recommend shopping around and comparing exchange rates before using this card, as you may get considerably better value elsewhere.
Useful card, but not the best deal financially.
