I have used the post office travel card for many years. I simply top it up through the app when and as I have spare money. I use it as I would a normal bank card while on holiday.
No faffing with purses and handbags to pay cash.
It's very convenient.

It was great to have currency for all the countries that I visited, no problems on my holiday at all

Just so you know. Rates are 3 to 5% higher than most banks and finntech companies, so loading £1000 of a currency will generally cost you £30 to £50 more than most other banks!

The card is very good and easy to use my only issue is when you go on the web page to look at the currency rate it doesn’t tell you there is one for top up , one for ordering online and one for going into the post office to top up so when. You see a rate on the web site it doesn’t mean you will get that rate which I think is misleading

Put £300 of Hungarian currency on the card to go to cashless Hungarian music festival. All vendors for food and drink at the festival refused to take it and wouldn't take cash so had to convert it back to ££ to put back in my bank account. Called Post Office Travel to ask them to at least convert the money back at the same rate I bought it at given the card was useless, but they refused and so I lost £33 on the conversion rate in 2 days on £300.

Great to use in shops and restaurants but had to pay twice for cash withdrawals. $6.5 Canadian equals about £4 so not to bad and wouldn’t put me off using it again

This travel card was recommended to us by friends who had used it and we found it very easy to use. Top up was incredibly simple.
The only downside I found is that any remaining money after our holiday could not be transferred back to my bank account.

Great for using abroad & feel safer as you can just put a fixed amount of money in the account, in case it gets lost or stolen

I was not sure at first if I wanted to take out a post office travel card as I already had my bank cards. However, my post office in Eltham staffs are really lovely and professional and they introduced me to the card. I used it while away in Central America to purchased goods and to draw money. I love how you can top up in the currency of your choice and how easy to access without fuss and felt just as comfortable using the post office card as I do not bank and I felt it had all the security features like my bank cards. I travel a lot to Central America, Belize, Mexico, Guatemala and other countries.
I have introduced one of my daughters too and she used it in Eastern Europe and loved it.I have also used it in England too. Will recommend to other friends and family. In some ways I prefer it over my bank cards. I purchased a lot and travel a lot, but I do not do reviews nor right them. However, I felt that my post office travel card earned and deserved one. Many Thanks happy 😃

Had no issues using the travel money card. Found it simplistic and easy to use.
Keeps it away form your general accounts, gives you that extra layer of security when in a foreign country.
One card / one app payments and top up as and when you like 👍

Just returned from Portugal and used my PO Travel Money card for the first time. I added it to Google Wallet and it was really simple to use. Any spend on the card updates immediately in the app so you can see your remaining balance quickly. I am really impressed with it and will use it again for my upcoming trip to the UAE - my remaining Euros can be converted to Dirham on the app. Definitely recommend this card.
