Very poor customer service and professional standards. I registered on Prospero a few months back, but it is a waste of time. The recruitment company just doesn't take calls whenever I call regarding a job to talk to the consultant. Either the calls are not attended and go to voicemail, or even if we write emails, they are of absolutely no use.

The employees at Prospero were professional, communicate and helpful. I highly recommend Prospero to any international teachers looking to teach in London, England.

An update as I suspect the high ratings are from Incentives indirectly. It makes no sense for the amount of work you would have to put in without any guarantee of actual work. Zero hours contracts vibes.
Adverts galore everywhere attempted to check out from a tutoring point of view. Rates are appalling, expect you to pay for a DBS (that's another joke of a system) and do not have any work anyway. Waste of time and effort. No thank you.

I've been working with Prospero for a few years now. In general they are reliable and pay on time.
Where they could improve, is getting tutors the amount of work they need in a timely fashion.
Interaction with Prospero people is smooth and professional.
My main wish is that they find work for tutors more efficiently.

I was shocked at the level of unprofessionalism I encountered. Communication was inconsistent and often dismissive, leaving me frustrated and uncertain about what to expect. Instead of taking responsibility for mistakes, the attitude was careless and unaccountable.
Basic professionalism—such as timely responses, respectful interactions, and clear follow-through—was completely lacking. This kind of service shows little regard for employees' time or concerns, and it reflects very poorly on the business.
You are encouraged to write positive reviews for this company with the promise of incentives that never arrive, so be mindful of all the positive reviews on this company. For an education recruitment agency, there should be compassion and empathy, however this was not the case, and the recruiters seem more interested in their commission rates than the actual employees.
Even worse is when you leave, and they take forever to give you a reference, the compliance team where completely unhelpful, and gave three different reasons as to why the reference process took so long with no real accountability.
They also have a phone system in which they can see your number calling though, and will point blank ignore your call and not make any contact even after leaving a voicemail, and if you are lucky enough for them to reply/send an email they purposely leave their name off at the end so you have no true record of who you are in contact with!!
I cannot recommend them and strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

The patience of one of the consultants, who did not give up on me waiting on me through compliance.

The experience for onboarding with Allegria was great. she was supportive and guided me through the process.

Reply from Prospero Teaching
Allegria held my hand through the whole process. It was a gift to have her as my consultant as she kept me posted every step of the way. There was never a moment where I didn’t know what to do or where to go. Thank you for being diligent, efficient and simply great.

Initially, I found the entire onboarding process long and tedious, but once I got past that hurdle, I really loved working with Prospero! Allegria was very helpful and supportive.

I agree with recent bad reviews: waste of time
Inappropriate question during phone interview despite 20 years of experience in teaching
Unsuitable and ridiculous number of documents requested
Lengthy online process and they’re still not happy with all the documentation provided
Asked for reference letters with only 1 day notice
Didn’t accept great review from student I’ve been teaching for 2 years because under 18
All this for nothing
It should be easy and flowing
I had bad vibes from the very beginning
Useless

Appalling, time wasters! Don't risk your sanity-constantly running after them, which can go on for months. They will start off with you like a normal process, on boarding, false hope but then after some time you do all the chasing. And you continue with them thinking you've put time in- honestly just don't risk it with these people!

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY! They must be getting some sort of commission or daily quota to recruit people on their lengthy process and you don't hear from them. Constantly chasing them! I spent time, money and stressed out trying to get somewhere. I'm furious!
The good reviews are those taking a gamble with these people, it's not worth it when there are so many other agencies out there.
And even after you're done with them you will continue to receive BOT emails telling you of prospective jobs- save yourself!

Absolutely appalling. After registering which felt like forever they don't get back to you and start ignoring you. No one contacts to give out jobs etc. it was all a lie and waste of time. Please don't bother and waste time. I've wasted so much time registering for NOTHING WITH THIS COMPANY. Absolutely shambles.

As per some other reviews, it felt like they were just focused on recruiting new tutors without actually providing any assignments. I completed the lengthly registration process then mever heard from them again despite the promise of work. They ignored all my emails, phone calls and voice mails.I wouldn't recommend them; it seems like a wast of time.

As a master students who is newcomer to UK ,I registered with this agency and it was disappointing. they didn't help or even if answer your emails or calls. they didn't pay attention to your condition. after 4 month not only they didn't help to find a job .but also nobody answer me. They should understand when some one registered with them it is very essential to answer or help to find the best way.it is their responsibility as an job agency , is not it?

Utterly appalling company which advertises fake jobs and wastes candidate time. I would advise staying away unless you enjoy having your time wasted.

Really good communication between me and my agent and ended up getting a permanent role through working with this agency. Would highly recommend to people breaking into the industry.

Conor from Prospero was quick in securing me a position in a school near me, and was proactive in contacting me with a selection of opportunities. Throughout my work with them, he was supportive and helpful with any questions or aid I had needed. Prospero also had many useful resources and training programmes, which definitely helped me with obtaining a permanent position within the school thereafter.
