Card Change
Had some difficulty in changing to a new credit card.
Initially the system appeared to have acknowledged that I had updated to a new card but then I received notification of potential policy cancellation.
This was resolved by a 'chat' session.

On the 10/8/26 I read your notification about renewing my policy automatically.I attached a email to your notification canceling this.I now see from my bank account this was totally ignored and you went ahead with the renewal although I had signed with a new insurer.

Very Disappointing Experience After Many Years as an RAC Customer
I have been a RAC customer for many years and, throughout this time, I have never had an accident or made a claim. I currently have 5 years of No Claims Discount, and there have been no changes to my circumstances or policy details.
When I contacted RAC regarding my renewal, I was informed that they were unable to obtain a renewal quote from their panel of insurers. I was told that insurers can make their own decisions based on underwriting criteria, risk appetite and market conditions, and that RAC could not provide me with the specific reason why no insurer was willing to offer a renewal quote.
I understand that insurers can change their underwriting criteria and that RAC cannot control the decisions of individual underwriters. However, as a long-standing customer with a clean claims history, I found it extremely disappointing that there was no renewal option or alternative solution available through RAC.
I contacted customer service and spent time trying to understand whether anything could be done to obtain a renewal quote. Unfortunately, after checking the panel of underwriters, I was told that no renewal quote was available.
I have now had to look elsewhere for my car insurance despite having been a loyal RAC customer for many years. I have also had to request confirmation of my No Claims Discount so that I can provide it to another insurer.
I appreciate the customer service representative who dealt with me and logged a formal complaint, but overall I am very disappointed with the experience and with the lack of a suitable alternative for a long-standing customer.
For these reasons, I am giving RAC 1 star. I hope RAC reviews how situations like this are handled and considers providing clearer explanations and better alternatives for existing customers who have a long and claims-free history.

The price I was first offered was more than I was willing to pay, but in discussion on the phone I was given a price that I was pleased to accept. Not being good with printing from the computer I requested a hard copy which was promptly provided.
