Cancellation charges
The website would not allow me to add a driver to the policy before it started with no explanation. When chatting to the company, they assured me they could try to add them, with the same result. They then charged £90 to cancel a policy that hadn't even started and did not provide a receipt, document on the account or explanation of charges without having to contact them directly. Completely unhelpful and took a long time to resolve.

OK but trying it on as usual
As per usual, the renewal offer was much higher, but on rejecting that I then received a lower offer that was - just - acceptable. I know this is standard practice, but this whole business of automatically fleecing loyal customers who don't question leaves a rather bad taste in my mouth.

Poor Customer service.
I have cover with RAC took in February 2026. Recently I was subject to motor vehicle incident, which was non fault, hit and run case on 22/08/2026. I was put through to Axa insurance who’s the insurer for RAC. Now since Saturday I am chasing them no courtesy car was provided. I have a fully comprehensive cover with courtesy car promised. As the age of the vehicle, rac decided not to repair and deem as total loss, they have yet not provided a courtesy car. I am very stressed, frustrated and poorly treated by the customer services it’s been 4working days past no confirmation of a car. I have been left in a situation, with car less and having to travel on UBER incurring charges being out of pocket and out of work due to personal injury from the accident. Since Monday working day I have been put through from Axa to RAC to Copart than enterprize. I have pushed from one pillar to post ever since than and every time i call are on a long hold. I have been informed different things every time I call and often put on hold after hold with no resolution I have been messed around. I want the RAC(Axa) to relive my issue and offer a courtesy car before Thai long bank holiday weekend.

Just a honest review honestly stay well clear there are much better insurance companies out there..after a year of being with the RAC and paying every month yes some payments was late due to how my wages are paid but it always got paid. all of a sudden they have decided that I can't afford to pay monthly payments and they want the whole policy upfront which is about £800... So they don't believe I can afford to pay monthly yet I paid every single month.. now they think I can just stump up £800... Make it make sense... Plus the policy premium they are offering after being with them for a full year with no claims is £3 cheaper... Absolute disgusting way to treat a customer.. they are just the same as most companies out here all they care about is getting new customers and not looking after the one's they've got... Seriously stay clear this will not be the best insurance company if you was to fall on tough times..
