Our rad is less than 2 yrs old

Our rad is less than 2 yrs old, doesn’t work anymore, has less than 100 miles. We’re thinking a controller problem. No one in the Colorado Springs area will look at it, and Rad could care less. They will not help us, and at this point I’m feeling this will be a throw away, and a waste of money.

We purchased a bike and accessories

We purchased a bike and accessories. The bike has 7 miles on it and my wife is not happy with it. We'll lose 30% plus shipping to send it back. The accessories were never opened and they want to charge 30% for them as well.

The Return Policy Is Outrageous

The restocking fees on their website are absolutely insane. If you should happen to have the misfortune of realizing that an accessory you bought doesn't work for you for whatever reason, don't expect to get much of what you paid back!

Rad is full of liars who will tell you…

Rad is full of liars who will tell you anything they think you want to hear. My wife ordered a RadExpand 5 plus as well as accessories such as an extra batteries, front racks, large baskets, and large basket bags. She received an email from FedEx saying they had been delivered - NEVER RECEIVED THEM!!!!!!!!

Contacted RAD “customer service” and was told that they were going to contact their logistic company and would deliver ALL THE ITEMS TO OUR HOUSE WHERE THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN DELIVERED IN THE FIRST PLACE. YOU WANNA GUESS WHERE THEY ARE - THEY ARE NOT HERE!!!

They are a bunch of spineless employees fulfilling the cultural expectations of the organization!! We have asked for a full refund of $3270 from them only to have no response and have been forced to fill a fraud charge with our credit card company.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Terrible customer services and after sales

My rad wagon 4 is in warernty but despite that I've had no helpful responses from Rad for 2 faulty displays. They now will not reply to my emails. I note this has happened with others.

What a terrible company, it does not matter how good the bike is, if after sales is rubbish there is no fall back position or reassurances. Moreover, I would never buy a bike from these guys again... I just hope their new American venture falls on its face via Americans getting privy of these reviews.

Defective bike and warranty not honored

Purchased RadRunner 2 from Rad Power Bikes directly. After few months noticed that the battery range is getting lower and lower. 8 months after the purchase it was able to barely provide max 10km of range on a full charge. Took it to the local RadPower authorized shop, they hooked it up to a machine that tested the battery and confirmed that it is faulty (showed ~100Wh capacity instead of rated 672Wh). The shop ordered replacement battery for me under warranty including the report of their tests, mentioned it should take couple of weeks. After 2 months of replacement battery not arriving, the shop suggested for me to get in touch with RadPower support directly, and this is where hell began. I was asked to start providing photographic and video evidence of the faulty battery, pretty much ignoring order replacement and test results of their own authorized shop. It has been 6 months already, back and forth sending photos and videos to their support. Nothing is ever sufficient for them and they just come up with something new for me to photograph or film. Their latest request is to film a video of me riding a bike from full charge to empty, the video needs to show from beginning to the end how it drains too quick. Is this a joke? Not to mention that they ignore official test results and requests for a replacement from their own authorized shop. Clearly it's a technique that they are using to avoid honoring warranty which they are obligated to do by law. I spent a lot of money on this ebike and cannot use it because this company refuses to fix it under warranty. I am starting a process through a lawyer against this company for failure to honor warranty terms.

Worst customer service

Customer service couldn't be worse. Firstly, they couldn't even recognize their own bike by pictures.
Secondly, after I told them the model and ordered parts they don't even ship in a week!
They only create a label with Fedex.
But do not give them the package.
Emailing them is a disaster. Always a new person answers and doesn't know what the story is. They never read previous mails

Bad service

The bike itself is great. The customer service in Europe is now zero, even for a bike that's still under warranty. They claim that their customers will still receive support and will not be left high and dry, but it's just not true. No answers to repeated emails, no replacement of faulty parts. Nothing. Very, very disappointed customer!

Rad plus 6 bike with 300 miles and the battery doesn’t work. I called for them to tell me the cells went out and would need to buy a new one. Excuse me? For a 2k bike and it to be hardly used you aren’t offering a replacement. Way to stand behind your garbage of a product! When choosing an electric bike, tons on the market - don’t choose this brand!

Buyer beware

Wow, what has happened to this company? I purchased two rad mini’s in 2017. I had a few problems ,but I could always get someone on the phone to help me. Now, enter 2024 and you can’t get anyone on the phone, only through the internet will someone respond.
This drove me crazy, because you would have to write about your issue and wait for days for someone to respond. Then, it wasn’t the same tech, but a new one that you had to start all over again.Groundhog day all over again. And now, the main point of my review, I was just told that they can no longer get parts for my two rad mini’s and they are junk, along with my 3k purchase price.Purchase at your own risk.

We have four Radpower bikes

We have four Radpower bikes; two RadCity 5 in Canada and two fold-up types in the UK. Overall, we like both models, but remember these are not $5k bikes so can’t fairly be compared. Canadian service is weak at best and they have abandoned their UK market entirely. We have a bit better luck dealing directly with their Seattle base. BTW you may as well order a replacement headlight, as it probably will die in 13-14 months, as ours’ have…just past warranty.

The quality has gone way downhill

The quality has gone way downhill. I can see it going under. DO NOT BUY A RAD BIKE.
Many times new bikes are malfunctioning. RAD literally design the batteries to rip people off. The so called new batteries, charging port is right next to the keyhole, and when somebody accidentally puts the key into the wrong hole, or there's even been electrical arcs sparking and causing the same problem, what do you know the fuse is blown and RAD makes it so pretty much impossible now to just take the fuse out and replace it because they design the new batteries with the fuse glued on and right in the battery which is all then sealed. What's up with that? The old batteries the keyhole one side and charging port on the other!!! you can just pop the cover off and you could change the fuse easily. That's the only reason why I haven't had to pay for $700 battery and it's only been a Year's worth of riding. People are complaining on YouTube they've literally only had their bikes for a few weeks and Rad's customer service bogus answer is to buy a new battery.
Are you kidding me? I'm not paying 700 bucks even a year just to ride your piece of crap bike. Make the batteries last at least 5 years UNDER WARRANTY. Oh and the excuse that they can't replace the battery because they say it's not under warranty. How convenient for them! stay away from this company and these bikes! They just want to rip you off, and exactly it's almost impossible to contact customer service now. Who's bright idea was it to make it so you can't even talk to a live person anymore?

Terrible Customer Service

Well I can see why they get such terrible reviews!

Bike arrived, the only thing I can say is well packed.

I assembled the bike and took it our for a rest ride, the gearing is totally out and tried to adjust it myself (by a tutorial sent by Rad), but this didn't work so I had to take it to a cycle shop, where they have said that the motor to gearing is faulty and the front fork seals are leaking.

Now waiting yet again for their slow customer service to kick in and see what they are going to do about it!

UPDATE: Taken 3 months to accept return of faulty bike and give a partial refund, they have not repaid the initial delivery charge I paid (£50), or the cost of the packaging I had to buy from a specific place (according to their returns policy and instructions, all 37mb download of the instructions! ), which they stated they would refund upon receiving the bike back and an invoice, both of which have been provided!

Bloody nightmare to deal with! Every email takes a week plus to respond back, then just further questions and delays, worst customer service I've ever come across

Rad E-Bike Terrible Experience

Cancelled a bike order and it got shipped anyways! Took weeks for them to authorize the return and I even had to take numerous photos of the box and label. Once they received the bike, took over a month to get my refund. Their slow online chat line only way to get a response from them, and mostly my issue fell on deaf ears! What an absolutely horrible and frustrating experience. I would suggest avoiding this company.

Terrible Customer Service. Everything blamed on "The WareHouse"

The company's customer service is terrible. I immediately noticed an error on an order and attempted to contact them. Unlike almost every other online vendor, there's no automated order support or ability to cancel an order. Contacting customer service took a couple days, and in that time my order was transmitted to the warehouse. Every customer service agent claimed that they were powerless against the warehouse. My only option was to receive the bike, request a refund and pay $150 return shipping and restocking fees.

DOA bike, and TERRIBLE customer service

Buying from this company was a big mistake. I bought from Rad Power Bikes just because they had the PR of being a decent company and had a seemingly good reputation. But right now, I’m looking at a brand new completely dead bike sitting in my garage that I ordered MONTHS ago that Rad Bikes has still not gotten working or made right from a customer service standpoint.

I bought a Rad Rover 6 in Aug of this year (2023) brand new directly from Rad Power Bikes. It arrived DOA… motor didn’t work… it was completely dead straight out of the box… it had other problems too, but the dead motor is obviously about as major as it gets. I thought, no problem, this bike is brand new, still unridden, clearly a defect, and Rad Bikes is known for“quality” products and “great customer service”, so surely they’ll immediately send out a replacement bike and give me a label to return the dead bike. Nope.

You have to email them and hope they get back to you (which they didn’t). I then used their online chat, where someone who clearly knows nothing about bikes makes you shoot, edit, and upload multiple videos with YOU troubleshooting and testing the faulty bike. Then they ship seemingly random replacement parts (using the SLOWEST possible method) while YOU do the trial-and-error repairs to a brand new bike that was DOA!!! I’m now waiting on my THIRD part (the first two didn’t fix the problem) and we’re talking WEEKS to get each part. When you try to return the bike for a refund, they change the subject and you magically find yourself disconnected from the chat. Doing a refund through their website charges you a $150 RETURN FEE!!! For a DEAD bike they’re charging hundreds in return shipping!?!?!?!

That’s when I found out the hard way this company’s marketing strategy is to pay (or give free bikes to) social media “influencers” so they give great ratings to their bikes. Im guessing the influencers get bikes that have been QC tested and tuned, but for me, the bike had MULTIPLE problems that made it unridable. Obviously the dead motor was one. But say you wanted to pedal it around as a standard bike… that was not possible either. The gears and derailleur were so badly out of alignment that the chain immediately popped off anytime you pedaled. So clearly this bike goes through little or no quality control or testing measures prior to shipping to a customer.

I understand there can be issues with products where a defective one gets out periodically, but from the reviews, this seems quite common. What’s not understandable is how they don’t take responsibility when there’s a major problem with their product.

I DEFINITELY would not recommend this company to anyone… 10% due to the faulty product, and 90% due to how they respond to a customer receiving a faulty product. I honestly feel scammed. I have no doubt this company will not last if they keep on this course.
