Weird Battery Issues

Recent bought a rad mission.

Bought 2 actually, went on many rides with it. One day my partner and i took ours out at the same time, same place, same distance and same battery level.

At the end of the trip, i was left with 1/5 battery left and she was left with 4/5 battery left. I got a faulty battery. But i thought mine seemed quite normal since we rode 55KM and its life is 70KM or so. And that hers was actually fault for only losing 1 bar after 50+KM

$3k down the drain

I spent $3,000 on a RadWagon 4 + accessories. Within 2 weeks of delivery I receive emails to stop riding it because of bad tiers. Then I’m told it will take 2-3 months for the replacement tiers and service.

This is the most expensive and now useless item I’ve ever purchased. They should have halted sales as soon as reports of tire issues started stacking up. I can’t trust this company with the kids' lives that I’m putting on the back of it.

Horrible quality control and customer…

Horrible quality control and customer service. Got a Rad City5 brand new out of the box and the front wheel was faulty. Eleven calls later and still they cannot send me a new tire. They said it was out of stock and have no idea when they will be getting it in and that their suppliers do not give them time frames on deliveries. A faulty product out of the box should be replaced with one that works. The people who answer the phone are incompetent and are of no help at all. DO NOT BUY Rad..they do not stand behind their product!!!!!

I have been on hold for a little over an hour and a half. So I guess I’d say it really sucks. Fortunately the US open was on so I just kept listening to “please continue to wait and an agent will be with you shortly”. I’m beginning to regret getting involved with this outfit. My friend wants to buy an e bike so I’m going to tell him to get a cheap one. Can’t be worse than this

3rd Rad ebike and can't complain 8/2022

I bought 2 RadMinis in 2019 and had issue with them out of the box, a broken headlight on one and a scratched seat post on the other, both were replaced with no problem and received within days. One has 1400 miles on it (mine) and the other has 350 miles (the wife's). Haven't had any other problems in 3+ years and the batteries are functioning just fine because I care for them as recommended (check out some Youtube videos on how to maintain your battery(s) for Rad ebikes) and make sure you get your ebike professionally tuned at least once after the first 150 to 200.

Now in August 2022 I bought the Rad Rover 6 plus and the UI remote bracket was broken. Called them and waited on hold 15mins and gave up (day 1), sent an email twice with an automated response (day 2 & 3), then call again and was on hold for 5mins (day 3) and the issue was taken care of, the new bracket is on its way at no charge, I received an email order confirmation from Rad before I even hung up with them.

Don't take a lot of these complaints serious. Battery problems, they just didn't take care of them like they should. If you maintain you bike per the owner’s manual and check out some Youtube videos for more in depth maintenance, your ebike investment will be well worth it with few problems.

Marketing is very mis-leading

Marketing is very mis-leading. When you have an issue they are not available to help at all. My battery stopped taking a charge one month past warranty. After almost an hour on hold to talk to someone I was told I had to buy a new charger first and make sure it wasn't the charger before they would put me in touch with the department that troubleshoots the battery. $39.99 for the charger non-refundable if that wasn't the problem than they would give me the ability to reach the department that would trouble shoot.

We are livid... don't buy!

We are livid! Don't buy RAD bikes! We only rode 1 time. Battery on my bike died during our ride. We went home and tried to charge it. It wouldn't charge. They told us they would replace the defective battery... just send them what they needed. After 7 calls, 5 emails, 3 videos, and 10 pictures... they falsely accused us of plugging it in the wrong place. This made us so angry. We only have 28 miles on our bikes, warranty was NOT honored. After reading other reviews and going on the FB troubleshooting page, we found so many others with the same problem. $500 to $800 to replace the defective battery is ridiculous! After all the accessories, price of the bikes, and bike rack... we lost $4,000! Do not trust this company. They are scammers!

Beware of battery life issues!

I bought a Rad Mission 1.5 years ago for periodic use at my 2nd home. Although the bike worked just fine initially, I recently discovered that the battery would not recharge at all. I tried a neighbor's compatible charger that is known to work and that didn't charge it either, so it's pretty clear the problem is with the battery itself. I changed the 2 fuses, still won't charge. I talked to customer service and they had no solutions other than to buy a replacement battery pack for ~ $500 (the warranty only lasts 1 year). That's almost half the cost of the bike itself! I am very frustrated that my bike is unusable so soon after I bought it. I certainly would not purchase another Rad product again.

I am hopeful for a response.

I am hopeful my opinion changes. We ordered 2 Rad City 5 + bikes for my wife and I and requested delivery. I adjusted my work schedule to be there for delivery, but the delivery service unilaterally changed the time and I was not around when bikes were dropped off. The rear tire of one of the bikes had a faulty bead, which separated from the tire wall the first day. Have requested assistance from Rad Bikes and have only received an automatic reply email but no actual response despite a few attempts. I just called the Canadian phone line, within the time they claim to be open, and the line is closed. Looking forward to riding.... the bikes look very nice.

Lousy customer service

I bought a rad runner from my boss who's wife didn't like it.Used only a handful of times the battery charger no longer works. So I ordered a new one and made a mistake on the delivery address, there was no way to edit the order online so I called the next day( I ordered on a Sun. customer. service closed) they pretty much said no way, order's at the warehouse, can't help you. That's not customer service, that's a total unwillingness to help. Stay clear of this outfit! BTW battery charger never should have failed after so little use

On my Last Leg RadRover 6+

Tired of waiting for parts that aren't fixing anything
Made videos with all new wiring replaced including controller I used step by step installation including pausing videos though each step 100% there shouldn't be any problems with a out of box bike the return policy has been past the 14 days from waiting over and over on shipping on parts putting my trust in advice by service to resolve this with no luck can tell they really want it to work so I'm not downing the support team yet but I shouldn't have to rewire everything out of box I am not asking for a refund but a bike that is more that a piece of scrap and very disappointed I've done all I can at this point
I am a very loyal customer and would like to keep it that way also i have had a 2019 RadRover 5 and have also purchased many accessories for this new RadRover 6 plus just to be upset I can't ride rad when I'm stuck with a all around bad bike what do I do with it when every part I've been sent isn't fixing anything give up and take a loss ahhh no but will the company stay true to its warranty without excuses and cheap part fixes that don't fix the problem there's the Real question are they prepared to send me a all around new bike or am I going to get blown off we will see when my lasts parts come because there is nothing left to replace aside from a entirely new bike

BUYER BEWARE!

Spent a lot of time and money trying to get rad bike repaired. Customer service not helpful at all. Bad situation got worse. Bought many parts in March and April 5 months later still not working. Been in authorized rad repair shop since early April. I have paid for many parts and a lot of labor. Found out Software problem after all. Very low mileage and nothing can be done. Wasted a lot of time and money on repair. Spent many hours on hold with rad customer service. Funny if you want to purchase bike a rep picks up in seconds. Have a question you will be on hold for an hour or two if lucky. BUYER BEWARE!

GREAT BIKE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I bought a RadRunner Plus more than year ago and have put several hundred miles on it with no issues. However the display has water/condensation in it and it has been giving odd displays and would not always turn on. Well it finally died in West Yellowstone. I have emailed twice and did the phone game several times and it’s been 10 days and I’ve heard nothing from Rad. So I ordered a display from Amazon, identical and cheaper, and having it shipped to my next destination. In the mean time my bike is a worthless boat anchor. SHAME ON YOU RAD FOR HAVING THE CRAPPIEST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Even the USPS does better and that’s not saying much.

I bought the Radrunner + It worked for…

I bought the Radrunner + It worked for about 9 days then it died - no power. I did the trouble shooting and still not working. I contacted customer service and they sent out a new controller and I replaced it and still not working. I had to call the bike mechanic to come and waited around 4 hours and he couldn't fix it. He sent a report to customer service and no one followed up with me. When deliveries are sent out it took 12 days for the controller to come AND that was after I had to document things, submit to a drop box and then follow up myself. The CSA tells me that I have to follow all the "policies" which are listed - Where 's the policy that says if we sell you a defective bike we will make every effort to make you a satisfied customer. Then no one from customer service called me back or returned my emails for about a week. When I did get a call back, I was told that I had to document a list of things to take pics and videos of and submit. I'm waiting for a response - - There's no guarantee the battery will fix the problem. I have incurred daily travel expenses to and from work and taxi costs while my new broken bike sits in my living room as I get more and more frustrated. I asked customer service to inform and manager or supervisor to please contact me and nothing to this day. I've had this bike for about 6 weeks and still not working. I was offered a $50 gift voucher - which is silly cause I don't plan on spending anymore with this company. The customer service is terrible and no one seems to have any urgency in resolving my broken bike - I was also told that I can't return it cause it's past the 14 day window for returns, even though it stop working in the 14 day period, I'm stressed out so frustrated. By taking the bus to work, it adds an extra hour everyday. All the time I've put into this bike and it's still broken and I'm not confident that when the battery comes, it will fix it. Then I have to do it all over again for another part to be replaced - on my time that is!

My wife and I went to the show room…

My wife and I went to the show room down in Imperial Beach today in hopes of finding an E bike that we liked. It was so easy to do the test rides that we rode five different models until we found the ones that fit us best. The Radrover 6+ is what we settled on and it is so awesome. The customer service there was perfect. Cornell and his team were all so nice and very patient with a couple of older people (us) that didn’t know much about E bikes. With so many Radrover bikes in our town, I am sure that Radrover will be around a long time to service the bikes when needed. I highly recommend you make the drive to Imperial Beach to visit the show room. It worked out very well for us today.

Do not go to their showroom to purchase…

Do not go to their showroom to purchase accessories.

Customer service is abysmal to non-existent. I've yet to see more than one person behind the counter. A line quickly builds and you can be waiting a very very long time before finally getting to the counter. Half the time you'll then be told the item you want is out of stock.

Rad Power Bikes told us they would…

Rad Power Bikes told us they would honor a $100 Rad Power Bikes issued rebate to purchase a bike rack for my Rad Mini 4. They did not. Rad has not had the rack in stock for over 6 months. Our $100 Rad Power Bikes issued rebate was set to expire and still after 6 months, they have had no racks available. They refused to extend the rebate and I was not able as yet to get the rack their lying representative said we could get. I assure you that you cannot trust this company or their staff.
