Terrible costumer service

I bought a ticket for the wrong date by mistake and immediately emailed this company and they won’t change the ticket date. It’s obviously a mistake so now I have to buy a new ticket out of pocket.

After reviewing your booking, we found that the tickets were purchased on a non-flexible fare. Under the fare conditions established by the rail carrier, these tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded once they have been issued, which unfortunately meant we were unable to amend your travel date.

We recognize that booking mistakes can happen. During the booking process, the journey details remain visible until payment is completed, giving customers the opportunity to review their itinerary before confirming their purchase.

While we understand that this is not the outcome you were hoping for, as distributor, we are required to apply the fare conditions established by the rail carrier and are unable to make exceptions to those rules.

Easy to book and was slightly cheaper…

Easy to book and was slightly cheaper than booking through Eurostar even with the £2.99 fee.

No customer support

In April I booked a number of journeys with Deutsche Bahn (DB) in July. Close to the date of travel, DB emailed to inform me of significant changes to train times which meant I missed connections and would not reach my destination stations as planned. At no point did Rail Europe contact me to offer help with rearranging my train journeys nor give advice on how I could seek refunds or compensation for my disrupted travel in Germany. Rail Europe simply took my money in April then left me to sort out the problems caused by DB’s inability to run an efficient service.

When operational changes such as timetable amendments, delays or cancellations occur, the operating rail carrier is responsible for communicating these updates directly to passengers using the contact details provided during the booking process. In your case, Deutsche Bahn notified you directly of the changes to your journey.

As a distributor, Rail Europe facilitates the booking of tickets, while train operations and service disruptions are managed by the operating rail carrier. For this reason, notifications relating to operational changes are sent directly by the carrier.

If you have not already done so, we encourage you to contact our Support Team with your booking details. They will be happy to review your case and, where applicable, liaise with Deutsche Bahn on your behalf to determine whether you may be eligible for compensation or any other available remedies following the disruption.

I kept getting locked out by your…

I kept getting locked out by your system using either my Mac Notebook or my iPhone on BOTH your website and your app. Only after I went to. a Windows desktop was I able to get the transaction completed.

. Need to be clearer with more information on the actual arrival station. Requested arrival station Paris Est when requested station is Montparnasse. The small print indicating actual arrival station is Paris Est easily overlooked and confusing for tourists.

No seats assigned despite paying for seat selection

When I made the reservation I paid for seat selection, however, once I received the tickets there were no seats indicated. We had to board the general seating car and were lucky to find seats.
this is the first time I have used the app, I’m not sure if I did something incorrect.

For your journey, seat reservations are optional. During booking, you’re presented with two choices: reserving a seat (for an additional cost) or travelling without a reservation (free), where seating is unreserved and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

We reviewed your booking and can confirm that the seat reservation option was not selected during the booking process. There were also no seat reservation charges included in the total amount you paid, which is why your tickets were issued without assigned seat numbers and you travelled in unreserved seating.

If this was your first time using the app, it's completely understandable that the booking options may not have been clear. We appreciate your feedback, and we'll continue working to make the booking process as straightforward as possible.
