Easy enough to buy tickets

Easy enough to buy tickets, but very confusing about which train we wanted. Our seats are on the Golden Pass express, but our tickets are for the Panorama express. Turns out they are the same train, but it took several emails to reassure us that both tickets and seats are on the same train. Maybe all companies could call the scenic train by the same name…… just a thought. Customer service were fairly quick to reply.

Easier and cheaper than others

I found the Rail Europe site to be easy to use and really clear in describing the difference between rail classes and prices. I also found the prices for my European rail journeys to be cheaper than competitors- including the rail companies. A very good experience overall. Thank you.

Figuring out where to sit is a huge challenge! Bahnbonus status, pre-reserved seats etc are all very difficult to figure out without detailed instructions!

Rail Europe - avoid

No contact number, no help and even though the train service offered us alternative dates there was no space for bikes. When I booked there wasn’t an option to add bikes so assumed it was ok as with the earlier booking. Now you email with your T&Cs and say no refund. You’re a totally useless booking agency without any service

We're not available through phone due to limited support. However, we see that you contacted our support team on your travel date. Unfortunately, once a journey has passed, the rail operator's fare conditions no longer allow refunds or changes. These conditions are set by the train operator and apply to all bookings - and we being their authorised tickets distributors, we follow their set rules strictly.

Also note that while many TER services allow non-folding bikes on board free of charge (subject to available space and any regional restrictions), TGV INOUI trains have different rules. Non-folding bikes require a dedicated bike space reservation, and availability can be limited. Folded or dismantled bikes that meet the operator's size requirements can travel as luggage without a reservation. You can find this information in the guide shared by our team in their email reply.

Highly recommend

As long as you enter the number of passengers on the first screen, the process is seamless, even though I only speak and read English. I didn’t specify number of passengers up front so had to backtrack in order to Purchase 4 tickets together. Overall, I highly recommend RailEurope.

Semi-flexible for the win

The staff was very helpful in finding our train car and seats. Online booking was a huge help and offered many options.
We encountered a travel hiccup and being able to transfer the tickets was a life saver.
