Amazon’s Delivery Guarantees Are Worthless—And They Know It

Ordered business-critical items with guaranteed delivery by June 13. They were marked out for delivery, then suddenly changed to delayed until June 19—no explanation, no warning.

Contacted customer support:
First rep told me I had to wait until they showed up to get a refund
Second one said I could keep the items… but still no refund until they arrive
“Leadership” (Luis F.) refused any refund or compensation at all
So Amazon misses their own delivery deadline, admits fault, tells me I can keep the items—but won’t give me my money back until they eventually show up a week late?
This is manipulative policy design. They break their promise, hold your money hostage, and expect you to just accept it.
Filed a complaint with Executive Support and I suggest others do the same.
Amazon’s customer-first days are long gone

I would rate them as zero if I could

I would rate them as zero if I could. Their customer service is trained to be passive aggressive and very uncooperative. They're even using fake names now! For example I had one person claiming to be named Ravi Shankar! Amazon Delivery tried to deliver a package at 6:00am and claim I asked for rush delivery (which I most certainly did not). I was then informed that rush deliveries can be delivered anytime between 4:00am and 10:00pm... WHAT?! Are they insane? When I told them I never authorized a rush delivery, I was told that it's up to the customer to verify delivery is accurate. So now we have to correct their incompetence? Amazon makes everything dificult. From requiring to sign-in tto track a package to making customer service nearly impossible to reach and when finally reached you're faced with speaking to a soulless robot that may transfer you to a soulless automaton of a person that lies to you and aggravates the situation. Once you've finally had enough and ask for a supervisor, they lie again saying the supervisor can't do anything more than they can. Once a supervisor is put online after arguing with the customer service flunky for 5 minutes, he or she talks down to you and blames you for their inability to do their jobs properly. I've had it with those lunatics!!!

AMAZON.CA PARCEL DELIVERY

With respect to your review guidelines, I have already been honest, helpful and constructive with Amazon directly, and in return received only evasiveness and obfuscation (delivered with a dollop of disdain).

Despite having my full and correct address on a parcel, Amazon delivery chose to leave it in a mail room rather than at my door. Despite being a senior with mobility issues, they point-blank refused my polite request to return and place the package at my door. This, they explained, was against their "policy".

Bending backwards, I patiently suggested they could perhaps return the next day instead, or at some other time of their choosing, possibly with a different driver. This, they declared, was impossible. When I gently inquired as to why it was impossible, they stated with Kafka-esque logic that it was against policy.

In the end they adamantly refused to explain why it was against their policy, or why it was impossible, or why it was beyond the means of one of the world's largest and wealthiest companies to simply send a driver round at their convenience to correct an error.

All this despite my being a regular and long-term customer. So, expect no assistance if you're so unfortunate as to be old, disabled or for any reason immobile. They quite simply don't care.

Driver's don't read instructions.

Driver's don't read instructions.
I have in 2 locations delivery instructions.
Never use mail box. It's not at my address.
2. Put all items in delivery box on front deck, marked Delivery Box.
I guess they can't read.
This happens far to offend.
I have complained to both, ASL and Amazon.
I give up.

Great choice, difficult to get a hold of human customer service

The choice of items on Amazon is second to none.

The customer service is pretty good, if you can reach them. It's hard to reach a human agent, the company really doesn't want their customers to speak to a human being, I find it really hard to get past their chat bot. Sometimes the chatbot can solve my problem, but most of the time the problem requires a human agent to help out. I understand there may be cost considerations, but it's frustrating when it takes so long to navigate past all the automated questions.

Recently I've experienced some delivery drivers going through neighbourhoods with loud music on. I wish they'd stop that, not everyone shares your taste in music.

Disappointed by Delivery Behavior and Questionable Hiring Compliance

Let me first clarify that I am a Canadian of Indian origin, so there is no way this feedback should be seen as racist or biased. I am only sharing my honest observation. I’m very disappointed with the behavior of some delivery/courier persons employed by Amazon/their allied partners. A significant % of delivery workforce in London Ontario appears to be Indians who are not adequately trained in customer service, professional behavior, or basic site etiquette. During their visit, some were loud while playing music and driving trucks and vans through residential driveways, many walked over lawns without regard for property boundaries. When approached, some individuals responded in an aggressive and shouting manner. This reflects poorly on the Amazon management, who should ensure all team members are trained in respectful communication, safety, and professionalism, especially when delivering in residential areas. I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their hiring and training practices. This is annoying when someone comes to your door and does act like this.
I learned about Federal law that Employers are not allowed to hire more than 10% of their total workforce through the TFW Program, then how could almost 100% of these courier people employed in London by Amazon are from India? Is Canadian Federal Agency watching this? Also there are stricter rules for companies to prove why they can’t hire Canadian workers first. Is Amazon complying to this?

Amazon delivered package to wrong adddess

Amazon delivered package to wrong address. The photo shown is not our residence. No customer service just give you the runaround on the website. No real person to talk to. Have been shopping regularly on Amazon for a few years. This is not the way to treat your customers.

You are almost always guaranteed the package will arrive late or not at all on the day specified. ff you complain to Amazon customer service you are given the run around and told to wait. You end up waiting for hours and nothing arrives. Amazon service sucks and so does their delivery company BNI

Poor delivery - drivers don't follow instructions

Their drivers cannot follow instructions. 9 times out of 10 their drivers do not follow instructions, 4 times in the last ten that meant the package went missing and Amazon doesn't care. They've even had to issue a few refunds but they do not care enough to fix the problem.

Since Amazon close all their warehouse…

Since Amazon close all their warehouse in Quebec, they now use all kind of different carriers. They made the big mistake of choosing Purolator and yes, as usual, you wait all day for your package and it never arrive. Then you have to ask Amazon for a refund and reorder again hoping it will not go with Purolator again

With every order I feel myself becoming…

With every order I feel myself becoming more untrusting of what I'll get - I read reviews and try to do my due diligence when ordering (I know this is the norm now but stores used to actually care about the products they offered - and Amazon started this way too, so you didn't have to research the heck out of an order before placing it just to make sure your money is being spent on what is actually being sold...) but now many orders show up late, incomplete, the wrong thing, or broken - even broken again when getting a replacement. I'm sorry, but I'm so sick of cheap products from whatever country. I live in a tiny rural town and there aren't many stores here for many of the things I am trying to purchase (specialty items) and even online, trying to find a Canadian or American brand I can purchase from is difficult or not available. So I turn to Amazon.

And it's just gotten so bad that I spend more time in returns than actually enjoying/using the items I get.

Amazon used to be so trusted and good until about a decade ago and then BAM - all these companies with made-up names and emojis as bullet points in descriptions. I really wish I this company would re-think its dependency on foreign goods or at least offer an easier way for those of us who want to pay a little more to actually find North American goods.

Why won't Amazon let me purchase

i have purchased various items on Amazon.ca over the years. The last time about 2 yrs ago they basically made me sign up for 30 day PRIME which I didn't want, but I did and then cancelled within the 30 day trial period.
This week I tried to buy something on amazon.ca and it wouldn't go through, they kept saying i needed to verify my payment but THERE WAS NO WAY TO DO THAT.
Do you think if I say i want an Amazon PRIME acct they will let me purchase the item without verification???
I'm more than disappointed

Poor Quality Assurance / Customer service

I purchased 2 packs of air frier liners and a oil spray bottle. Once I recieved the and opened the liners one package of liners were broken. I wrote this on my review to Amazon and they refused my review. They stated my review was not pertinent to other shopper. After seeing this I called and had my full order returned. Quallity Assurance: Amazon warehouse doesn't have. During my phone call with Amazon and me asking for a full refund the rep wanted me to return the oil sprayer. I explained it was full of oil. Also I stated if they wanted it back that bad it would be returned with the oil in it. 7.30 what I paid for the item. I had oil in it was Extra Virgin olive oil worth more than the sprayer it's self.

I've had no problems returning things to amazon.ca

I guess I'm in the minority when it comes to liking the amazon.ca service. I can buy things with confidence that if I'm not satisfied, I can return it at minimal or even no cost, and for any reason. I know because I have, returning things that weren't as good as they looked and replacing them with something that worked out better.

Shipping times vary a great deal, sometimes fast, sometimes painfully slow, especially when ordering from a 3rd party selling through amazon. But I use the free shipping over $35 feature, so I'm not that critical of shipping time -- I don't expect free to be fast, and I'm often pleasantly surprised.

THEY ARE SELLING UNREBURBISHED UNWIPED TOUCHPADS STILL LOCKED INTO COMPANY LOG IN SCREENSI bought a refurbished Lenova L13 Yoga…

I bought a refurbished Lenova L13 Yoga Thinkpad from amazon.ca DON'T BUY THIS. Mine was locked into a log-in screen from Fidelity Technology Group. Someone should contact them and let them know Amazon is sellinf their laptops without wiping them. Almost managed to log into the company. Probably a lot of people getting security alerts someone tried to sign in for them. Anyway, after many hours, I managed to get past it and into windows so i could wipe the computer. Dont ask me how because it was 3am and i dont remember. Laptop works fine. Battery is not great, but about what you would expect. Touchscreen is not as responsive as i would like and they DIDN'T INCLUDE THE STYLUS that was supposed to come with it. When i contacted Amazon and asked for a stylus or a credit to buy a stylus, they said that is impossible. They can only do a full refund after a return. I WAITED A MONTH FOR THIS LAPTOP and worked through the night to make it go and now you want me to send it back? If this was a one off experience, I would say bad luck on my part, but i see a lot of people are getting these "stolen?" laptops and not getting the stylus. i left a review under the one i bought but they didnt print it. So, I left a review under all the other ones with the same specs and they didnt print those either. Now I'm leaving a review here.

Crap service

Used to have good service. Now, as of 2025 I would not recommend using this site for their services; fore, they have gone absolutely horrendous. I've never heard of such thing as 20 days shipping to go across canada. I wouldn't use purolator either, they're the ones that are shipping the package for amazon.ca, and 20 days to not even go coast to coast, horrible service. Both companies are Pathetic for this.

Horrible services. Will not be using either companies again. Waste of time.

Department stores only from now on.

It only takes Canada post 5 days to go coast to coast.

American companies suck

Delivery time frame in Montreal

Extremely frustrated from Amazon since the beginning of 2025
Delivery service is very bad and taking forever even though we have prime account.
It used to be one to two days delivery time and now the fastest delivery is 4 days or more and no delivery in weekends.
We have to wait 4 days at least for delivery no matter what product you choose
