When potential motor finance agreements are initially identified, this does not mean that compensation will automatically be due. Not all motor finance agreements were affected by commission arrangements that may give rise to a claim, and much of the relevant information about how an agreement was arranged is not available to either the customer or ourselves at the outset.
This is why the agreements need to be investigated. We contact the relevant lenders to obtain further information about the finance and any commission arrangements that may have applied. Unfortunately, in some cases, the information provided following that investigation confirms that there are no grounds for us to progress the matter further.
We appreciate that this can be disappointing, particularly where potential agreements were initially identified. However, we would rather be transparent with our clients when an investigation shows that a claim cannot reasonably be pursued than give false expectations about the likelihood of compensation.
We’re sorry that we were unable to achieve the outcome you had hoped for on this occasion.
