Be ready to spend a night on a street

Be ready to spend a night on a street. The renter was a scam and I just didn’t find a place because it was a spring break time +music festival in the area. Even you spend hours speaking with 10 different representatives- result will be 0.I finally payed triple price for staying in the worst hotel that I was able to find because neither TripAdvisor or Holliday Lettings are responsible for scam on their platforms and don’t care on your loses. It was the worse trip in my whole life and would never use TripAdvisor for booking again.

I have had a very disgraceful…

I have had a very disgraceful experience with "We Trade Property"(CapeTown), with the agent Nadine .
I signed the lease agreement with this company as a tenant. They kept my deposit in terms of the lease agreement and when lease agreement was finished "We trade Property" paid R1200 ( for kettle and frying pan) to owner and did not even notify me of the deduction and deducted the said amounts from my deposit. The deduction was a false claim from the owner. I am now preparing papers for the claims court. "We Trade Property" said that: they not involved and not responsible for deduction, the office manager Rhonel Sixsmith.
So my question is: if they not involved and has no responsibility why did they keep my deposit and make payment to the Landlord; as an action. " We Trade Property" does not answer my questions, which I sent by emails, they are selective in their answers and have not answered my questions. " We Trade Property" did not make an itemised list of the items (or condition) and did not make an inspection of the property before and after leaving, despite requesting them to do so . Stay away from that kind of Dealers!

Renting a property through tripAdvisor

Renting a property through tripAdvisor
Hi, I'm in Ireland. I got an email from a potential landlord who lives in Germany, claiming that TripAdvisor will act as their agent, who will arrange deposit payment and viewing of the property for him. Can you clarify if this is really a service that TripAdvisor is doing or is this a scam? kind regards

If you re about to book an apt, don't.

If you re about to book an apt, through TripAdvisor rentals, just dont. Try Airbnb or Booking or any other decent site that doesnt have a blackmailing policy and actually cares about their partners and clients.
I ve worked with half of them, and booked with half of them, and tripadvisor rentals is by far the worst one.

I have just had to pay £100 just to…

I have just had to pay £100 just to cancel a booking which I never accepted!!! The guest was using 2 accounts so when I declined the booking on one, they continued paying on the second. I had never accepted the booking. This couple have tried booking in this confusing manor with lots of other apartments on trip advisor yet trip advisor will take no responsibility. Shame on you. Having spent half an hour trying to find contact details of trip advisor to complain the customer service is awful and they are only concerned with raking money in.

Unacceptable changes to my booking conditions

We rent out a couple of properties via the website and one day they just decided to send out an e-mail and unilaterally change our booking conditions! There was no option not to accept and no contact details on the e-mail which just gets bounced if you try to reply.
53 minutes on the phone trying to get it changed back (unsuccessfully)! It feels like a deliberate ploy to keep you on hold so you hang up. Shocking way to run a company dealing with people. After having spoken to a supervisor they are going to contact the "IT" department to make the change: 5- 7 days to do this.
I'll wait for the corporate response from them promising to do better. Blah.
