Excellent - cannot fault

The service provided by the call team, Kate and Tom, was excellent, explaining all procedures etc. Very professional, courteuous and an absolute delight to deal with.
The engineer who called on site, Paul, second to none. As the call team, excellent, professional and proferred expert advice on how the issue can be rectified. If all goes well, within one week of initial contact, our cooker/ovens will be back working efficiently.
Many thanks to all.

Awful experience

Awful experience - do not recommend. Organised via the Rangemaster website, range twice to organise first call out and was told by one person it would be a two week wait and by the second that it could be quicker. At the point of booking I specified that I needed to do the school run, so please not to come during that time. On the day of the appointment the engineer rang to say he’d be 25 minutes, which was just before the school run. I mentioned this and he said ‘I hope to be in and out within 10 minutes’. Not the service expected when I’d had to pay £168 upfront. Engineer got to our house, I explained what had happened with the oven and he proceed to only look under the grill with a torch. (We had already had a local oven repairman come out who spent over an hour for free looking for the issue, but couldn’t find it and I explained this to the engineer). I was asked to turn the cooker on in the fuse box, which I did and then the engineer just said it’s a wiring fault and that there was nothing he could do. An electric fault, on an electric oven and he couldn’t do anything! He didn’t take the oven out to look at the back, unscrew the hob or investigate anything at all. He was indeed in and out within 10 minutes leaving us without a solution and out of pocket for £168. Awful experience of incredibly poor service and an inadequate engineer - avoid and use a local company for rangemaster repairs.

The engineer was excellent

The engineer was excellent. We had a problem with our gas hobs. He called ahead of time to make the arrangements. Even though he travelled quite a distance he arrived bang on 830am as he arranged. He quickly identified and resolved the issues and was generally informative about why they had arisen. He was extremely neat and tidy and looked to protect the kitchen around while he worked. Excellent and rare these days.

Booked a service for my Rangemaster on…

Booked a service for my Rangemaster on 31 Oct. Paid £255 in advance. An engineer was the supposed to call within 48 hrs. No call. Phoned again. Still no call. Phoned again. They guaranteed a call from the engineer that afternoon. No call. Cursory text from engineer on 7th Nov, saying he would come between 1 and 4pm. Did not arrive or text. Cancelled job and asked for a refund. They even took my email down incorrectly.
After posting this review Repairtech did arrange for a different Engineer to attend. This chap, Paul provided excellent communication and has completed my service in a timely, tidy and efficient manner. The MD of Repairtech has also emailed an apology.

Fridge Freezer Spar

Repair tech were able to supply a spare part for my fridge freezer which according to BG was obsolete.
Only problem was that the package was on its side and not upright and a switch was damaged .
Fortunately the engineer was able to use the original switch and fridge freezer now working properly.

A repair to our Rangemaster Induction…

A repair to our Rangemaster Induction Cooker turned into somewhat of a slog unfortunately. It took three visits (spreading over more than a month) and a variety of PCBs to fix the problem. It appeared very much trial and error. The engineer was a nice guy and tried to be as helpful as he could. However, there did seem to be a complete lack of correct diagnosis resulting in endless phone calls to Repairtech service centre. The lass at the centre, Samantha Ward, was brilliant and extremely efficient, especially at refunding the enormous costs of the unused circuit boards. I have given a two star rating as this reflects the lack of speedy diagnosis and effective repair. It does not reflect the service I received from Samantha Ward. That would be five stars!! All that said, we now have a fully working cooker and have been fully refunded for the unused PCBs. Thank you.
Kind regards, Roger.

Dear Mr Jones,
We are disappointed to hear that you have rated our service as 2* and we do apologise for the delay in the repair to your appliance.
For information, Induction appliances are very complex in nature due to many components that interact with each other, or work in sequence to allow the appliance to function. Occasionally, further parts may be required that may not be detectable at the Inspection visit. We are sorry to hear the original part requested for the repair was mis-diagnosed and it was a different PCB required.
However, we are delighted to hear of the excellent service that you received from Samantha, our Customer Service Advisor, and that your Cooker is now fully working to specification.
Please accept our sincerest apologies that we did not live up to your expectations on this occasion.

I paid £180 for a engineer to come out

I paid £180 for a engineer to come out, when I received the quote it was for over £900 and a list of several items were faulty, I was given 72 hrs to make a decision whether to go through with the repair, I asked for a proper breakdown of why he thought those parts had gone and how he tested them which they couldn’t give me, As a gas engineer myself I thought I’d have a look at my induction hob and within a couple of minutes I found a loose connection and once I fixed it the hobs been working perfectly.
I have asked this company twice for my £180 back which has fallen on deaf ears, personally I wouldn’t trust them.

Dear Consumer,
We were extremely disappointed to read the comments given in your 1-Star review. Regarding your point that you were only given 72 hours to make a decision on whether to go ahead with the repair, any quotes supplied are valid for 72 hours and are then set to Elapsed on our system. This does not necessarily mean that you must make the decision to proceed with a repair within 72 hours as the quote can always be re-opened should a Customer decide to continue at a later date.
For information, Induction appliances are very complex in nature and we sincerely apologise that the fault was mis-diagnosed on this occasion. We confirm a full refund was processed on 23.08.24

Avoid if actually want a repair

Avoid if actually want a repair. Paid £240 on Tues lunchtime and promised an engineer would be in touch in 1 to 2 days to fix broken Aga.

Emailed office on Thurs for update and no response.

Phoned Fri lunch and told top priority. Asked for an update by end of day, which seemed like too much trouble.

3.5 days later, this company has my money, but have not delivered an engineer or had the decency to provide any update.

EDIT - see the response below. Your engineer simply turned up mid-pm without giving any indication of what time he would be coming. He said we could re-arrange a visit with the office, but then office pointed us to Ts and Cs (that you broke in the first place). From when paid to when you finally could offer an engineer, is just as well we found another solution to get the oven started.

Dear Mr McQueen,
We are sorry to hear that you were not contacted by the Engineer within the agreed 1-2 day timescale. However, upon your contact on Friday 09.08.24, we attempted to contact the assigned Engineer several times. Unfortunately, we had received no response by Monday morning thus your job was immediately re-allocated to an alternative Engineer. We do confirm that this Engineer contacted you that same morning and a visit was arranged for early September, as per your request.

As a follow on from the above, we would like to confirm that our Engineer attended on 02.09.24 as arranged, only to be informed that the cooker had been re-lit by yourselves and the attendance was no longer required. The call had not been cancelled, which resulted in a wasted visit from the Engineer !!!
However, were grateful that you shared your initial experience as Customer satisfaction is our top priority, and we want to ensure that any issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner, to which we did.

Avoid !! No repair and been asked to pay 2x!

Update 19th August: No parts have yet turned up and I have noticed that this was not a one-off. Most recent negative reviews have reported very similar scenarios.
I have decided to forward my case now to Trading Standards, as Repairtech Services makes no effort with customer service and just charges people upfront and twice for a nonexistent service. Very disappointed.

Encouraged by the good reviews here and Aga's recommendation, I ordered 2 small parts for my Aga masterchef (a hinge and hob element) and paid in full in advance for parts and the engineer to come out and fit (giving the serial number and sending a few photos - what can go wrong - right). An engineer came out, but he only had one wrong hinge with him and nothing for the hob.
The door until his visit was slightly wonky. He took the whole door off and the hooked the faulty hinge back in, but in the process destroyed the other one. Now the door is much worse than before the visit.
We left it that he needed to come back with the correct part.
To my surprise, I have now been quoted 2 call out charges and 2 x all the parts. I feel very cheated.

Have requested the initial parts to be sent to me and try to find another fitter (with my luck with them they will now probably be wrong, too). But have lost all confidence in this company and won't use them again. No point throwing good money after bad. Surprised about the other good reviews here - must have been very unlucky!

Turned around what was a bad experience

UPDATE: Fair play to Repairtech, following this review they sent an engineer round who was fantastic and sorted out the issue within a few hours and it has all been working great since then. Appreciate the speed and way they dealt with the complaint.

My elderly mother had some issues with 2 burners on her Rangemaster Pro 90 induction hob. An engineer came out and suggested parts and labour that came to over £700 - and had to be paid for upfront. When the engineer came out, they fitted the new parts which subsequently made 2 different burners fail. Furthermore, one of the new burners then stopped working the next day.
Rather than offering to come back and help fix, she was then given another £500 bill to fix the 2 burners broken by the engineer (which again she would have to pay upfront) and told that she couldn’t get any money back from the first job. Having made multiple phone calls trying to escalate this, she just kept getting told that “the manager won’t be able to do anything either’. My poor Mum is now very stressed out being over £700 out of pocket and a hob that is now worse than it was before.
I cannot understand all the other good reviews here. Terrible company. Will be getting in touch with Trading Standards.
