Great Customer Service from Sarah

We had a very good experience when we called the main number to make a reservation with Sentinel Storage. The operator was very kind and accommodating. Then we went to the location at 5403 136 Ave NW, Edmonton. We were served by Sarah at the office. She was very friendly, kind and accommodating also. We had multiple interaction with Sarah. She's gives amazing Customer Service and very personable.

As per our experience with the actual storage. I have to say, I don't feel 100% safe leaving my stuff there. Multiple time we visit the facility and there were homeless people who join together to rent one unit. They had the place in a mess. We reported it. Not sure what came of it.

I feel that the facility should have better security system after hours to serve their customers. Without customers you don't have a business. This is not a reflection of the staff in the office. This is a reflection as a company and their value for their customers. I would encourage you to do better to make your customers feel safe using the facility. Otherwise I'm happy with the service we received from the staff on the phone and in person. They give very good customer service.

Billing options.

After trying to deal with moving our storage unit payment back, we are left with it in place where it is. This was after we had an issue with our credit card for security reasons. They were very unreceptive and told us if we are 3 days late it will be a $28 fee. The late fees accrue each week, but we didn't find out how much more it would be, if we were more than 7 days late. They will lock us out of the unit and the facility if we are more than 5 days late. This with no option to pay weekly with a weekly billing cycle. The only option for billing we were given is a 28 day cycle. Read the contract people. They are illegal on their billing. It will not stand up in court, but it's not worth the hassle if you can prevent it.

My husband and I couldn't be happier with our experience at Sentinel Storage. Betty A., the staff member who assisted us, was very helpful and efficient. Thank you very much Betty. The deal they offer make storage affordable without compromising on quality. The facility is clean and well organized, providing a secure environment for our belongings. My Atv was stolen from sentinel storage…

My Atv was stolen from sentinel storage in Mission. I had it in storage for only 8 days. This facility is not secure and is way too easy for the homeless to break in. I lost my $6000 atv and management couldn’t care less. They constantly have break ins with homeless people. It was stolen at 1150pm on a Monday, I wasn’t notified till next day at 4pm. Sarah's customer service is top notch!! She treats you like a live human being

I stored my stuff there for 8 month. It was longer than I intended but life sometimes has its own plans...

Anyways the ppl at Fort rd-136ave were amazing to deal with. Sarah is who I mostly dealt with and she is a very caring, understanding, compassionate person. She went out of her way, I feel, to help me out and made the transaction simple and pleasant! The other person I dealt with was John but he doesn't always work at this location. He was also very accommodating and understanding!!
The facility itself was clean dry and from what I observed rodent free. I'd return there in the future without hesitation if need be.

Thank you Sarah and John. Other ppl in the service industry could learn lots from you two!!

On Aug

On Aug. 25 /26 my property got stolen from sentinel storage on Pegasus rd. ne. I got a email from the storage company that no lock was discovered on my locker and they their staff put one of their locks on the locker. being the weekend i didn't do anything , due to the fact they are closed Sunday , on Monday the staff and I discovered a a cheap old brass lock in place of my lock. Had to wait till Tuesday to get into the locker . the reginal supervisor( Calvin ) had the be the one to cut lock. That's when we discovered all my stuff was stolen. all these people were so apologetic and appearing to be helpful ,but it was all a bunch of bull@#it. Here's all the correspondence i got from the company, she asked me not to do anything and now they ghosted me. they don't answer the phone or respond to email.

that it all the the contact I had with the head office this company will let you get your stuff get stolen. on their lease application they tell you that they have $10,000 insurance that's bull#@it , intact insurance is company that just deny's people their claim. if store your stuff here or any one of their locations, you risk losing your property and will walk away with nothing.
I trusted them They advertise Safe, Secure, sentinel self storage ... its not even close to being safe and secure when people can drive through the gate right behind somebody else . they have no cameras in the locker hallways(do to privacy concerns) just on the outside of the building.

My unit was broken into and they took…

My unit was broken into and they took over $50K. Sentinel said their alarm wasn't working over Christmas break and videos showed people taking stuff from my unit all day. Cops came 3 days later. Sentinel didnt even have a video to give them of the robbery. The manager in Vernon is useless. Asked where I was gonna store my stuff next. Makes you wonder.

Deceptive Billing Policy

I think the storage company has deceptive billing practices. I am at the McKenzie store in Calgary. I am on AISH. When comparing prices online I was not informed that I would be charged on a 28 day billing cycle. I have checked and that's not the policy of any other storage. I would not have chosen sentinel if I was made aware of the fact that rans I would be charged an extra month every year. My set income means don't have the funds to to make double payment some months and the 28 days makes planning difficult. Sentinel would not have had business if I had been told about the 28 day "month" in advance while I was comparative shopping. I feel taken advantage of as person with a mental disability. No other storage facilities do this.

Absolutely beware of these crooks

Absolutely beware of these crooks , the insurance plan they charge covers absolutely nothing, 4000 dollars they collect each month , in a year over 40,000, when I asked for the contact information deflection is all I got , I’m sure they could be held to a class action lawsuit with Sub leasing a insurance policy and not providing exact cost figures, then discovering after 4 years of storage with them that my home insurance covers contents , something that is not mentioned in paper or verbally, so do your research as I’m moving out of there into another storage locker same size local company at half the monthly cost of sentinel.

Storage Place of Awesome

Jenn, Patricia and Audra at the office are EXTREMELY amazing! Wonderful to work with and delightful positive energy so super fun experience!
Storage gate works great! Clean area! Easy to manoeuvre my huge beast of a motorhome! 10/10 rating!

I tried sentinal storage again

I tried sentinal storage again, unbelievable...
Order a 10×10 online 99st and 63ave Service was great Was told I had to confirm my iD the next day ...They took my payment over the phone no problem...The next day I gave my ID and they confirmed everything then asked for an emergency contact...(I gave the previous nite ) asked for last name and phone number.Then preceeded to tell. E they canceling my storage unit because my EMERGENCY CONTACT WAS BANNED CUZ THERE ON DO NO RENT LIST! I THOUGHT OK CAN I CHANGE IT ...NOPE YOUR DONE HERE NO UNIT NO STORAGE .I still haven't got my money back from these people...No that's just ridiculous

ROACHES.

There were roaches in my storage unit. ALL OVER MY STUFF. I had to grab EVERYTHING out of the unit, bring it outside, take everything out of the boxes individually to make sure there was no roaches in it. Take my clothes out and shake them out and put them back into sealed garbage bags. THERE IS A ROACH TRAP RIGHT BY THE DOOR. Never coming here again, I was not very happy to come across roaches crawling out of my stuff. Not to mention I had to take all of my stuff out infront of the building IN PUBLIC.

Originally thought they were great but they are AMAZING!!!!!!

I originally though they were fantastic a bit pricier than other places( after initial deal I was almost paying $200 a month for it, had it not been so much I would of been able to afford to go pick it up at least 6 months ago but I was just paying to keep the unit) but I read good reviews about it originally (over 1yr ago) and the staff originally were so kind and understanding when I had to abandon my unit because I lost my job and where I lived and I'm know homeless while I was going to college too. My friend did pay and picked up 1/2 my stuff but I had to leave half my unit there because not enough room and I wasn't going to ask her to pay for a second round. I was planning on going back to get the other half another trip but I underestimated how much it would cost to go from province to another with the cost of gas. My bed, sewing fabric and other items i was using for craft projects. I did call when I couldn't afford it (used all my savings that I wasn't using for college and kept paying for a couple months which lead me to being homeless now) and signed everything I could for abandoning it and now I'm getting calls that its no longer valid or not enough days have passed and the amount of days changed a couple of times and was told to call a certain day and the manager is not even there. The person I even talked to originally is the one that signed the form. they were very adamant about the online review and did give them a good review but now I wouldn't recommend them, the calls are constant reminder of what I'm losing which may not be much to ppl but it was the 1st mattress I could afford (I've always been part of the poorest of the poor even when working 2 jobs and about 16 hrs a day. so a 15inch memory foam mattress that I spent a couple years saving up for and losing may not seem like alot to other but it was my 1st item I spoiled myself with and each call is a horrible reminder of what I'm losing!!!.

THANK YOU GINA, CALVIN, TAMARA, DUPSY and BETTY!!! you guys are amazing and have been amazing (this doesn't feel like a strong enough word!!!) I honestly feel like I'm in a movie, I was ready to abandon my unit because of hard times and couldn't afford it anymore and the Manager Tamara reached out to her Regional Managers Gina and Calvin and they have been so understanding of my situation and that I can pick up. I don't have words to explain how grateful, it honestly feels like a movie because this stuff doesn't normally happen only in movies or rare situations you see on the news! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!!The 5 star system is not high enough rating system for what this team has done, they have gone above and beyond even when I didn't think they were!!!! But I was so wrong Tamara and her team really do treat you like family and I wish I could put the emotions feeling right now into this post for those reading this review to understand how amazing this Team and Location is and how the amazing there regional managers are!!! I will only recommend this company to anyone in the future!!!
I appreciate everything you guys have done especially with how difficult times are and that there is still a company out there that care for/understand those that most would look past!!!

Bad bad bad experience. Avoid this!

The unit I was given is not even 5x8. It is actually 4x7. Can't fit my bed mattress because of the low ceiling.

The carts you need to use to move the boxes don't even let you turn in the corridors.

The staff lied to me, said someone would be here over the weekend (Easter) if I needed assistance, will be around. when I tried to reach the office, it was closed. Sign said closed friday to monday.🙄

I had to put stuff back in the truck which was a to to waste and injured my back because of the super narrow hall which you cannot turn but pull back all the way back to the elevator to go back out.?

Also elevator is very unsafe.you need to control the left to the right floor, not like the traditional elevstors.

I am warning you to stay away from Sentenial in Nisku. It's one last thing you want to deal with while moving.

I'm going to get my refund!!!!!!!!!

the worst place ever to rent a unit

This place is terrible all the units always have water lake they refuse to fix the issue and the hidden fees and late charges and they do everything to try make a person behind to take their things and they lie they insurance actually covers nothing at all nothing but water damage not fire theft earthquakes or any damage loss or anything they are little more then thief's I was a fair bit late they added up late fees every couple days and put me way behind so I go in and pay them with a check today I got a lot of money so I paid the late and the months ahead and they never updated the account a and are trying to say I didn't pay them now and that I only have five days till they add another month as a late free and then they are taking everything bull I paid and they are trying to say I didn't they also said they would send me a report on my will got nothing n there other then they are treating to rob me off my stuff never ever get storage thru these thief's they are liars and only rent to take from you your things they are the worst business I've ever dealt with I hope they are ready to Lose everything they got like they are trying to do to me you people looking to get a unit you do your self a favor don't go here

Triple charged, misinstructed, and paperwork ignored, costing me $$$$hundreds$$$$

First, I filled out a form to refuse insurance. $50/mnth was my budget, and I didn't want to pay the extra $20.
They have completely ignored that form and overcharged me for months.
Then my credit card was blocked because I was a victim of online fraud.
I spent hours talking to the person at the Pegasus Road location, the regional manager, and the 1800 number. I had already recieved one late payment charge, and I called Friday before the second one was applied. I was told not to pay until the matter was cleared up, but I never got another call. Today I received a third late payment charge. And I paid in full, including late charges, because I didn't want my credit ruined on top of being a victim of fraud.
So even though I often pay a couple months at a time, even though I am a responsible person, I am receiving triple late fees. Even though I called when there was only one late fee, to explain my new card would take 3-5 days to arrive by mail at the bank.
I was INSTRUCTED to not pay until the matter was cleared up, but after multiple hours trying with no one returning my calls, I decided being robbed by a stranger was bad, but being robbed by a company you had placed trust in was worse.
I will be moving my storage as soon as I can, Sentinel stealing a couple hundred by disregarding my request to waive insurance has been topped off with them punishing me for being a fraud victim, and complicated by them instructing me not to pay until the matter was cleared, which ended up costing me two more late fees.
No ethics, no morals here.
Just the run around as they gather more and more fees.

I would rate less if I could

I would rate less if I could. I was broken into consistently. Treated like garbage from the ever changing staff. They even took away the small pleasures like convenient bathroom usage, water and even Garbage whilst giving me 3 raises in 1 year and then lying about it. Horrible company in every regard. Stay far away.

Amazing experience!

Amazing experience! Lisa at the Langley facility was efficient and made the process simple and painless. We already have one unit in the same facility and the building is clean, secure and well maintained. The prices are very competitive - I highly recommend!

SENTINEL STORAGE FORT ROAD

I had to rent a locker at the Fort Rd. location in Edmonton in April 28/21 due to unprecedented circumstances. I didn't have enough room to store all my belongings. I didn't have much, but what I had were irreplaceable to me. So I rented a small locker, Secure Units,Video Surveillance and Heated. $275. Includes insurance Every 4 weeks. June 10/21, I went to my locker to to look for something and realized my son's mountain bike and other items were missing. When I went to lock it up I realized that even when the lock was on, all you have to do is GENTLY push on the door and it would open. I immediately went to the office, but it was closed as it was after hours. I called them the next day to tell them what happened and could they please check the "SURVEILLANCE" footage. I was told their ONE camera doesn't go back that far (it was about 6 weeks). I explained to them that the locker door is not locking properly and I have it on Video to prove it if they need to see it. Now they want proof of purchase, pictures of the bike and pictures of him on the bike. There is proof of purchase in one of the boxes in the storage unit. (hopefully its not in one of them that was taken). My son ordered the bike online (due to covid)September 2020. He was so excited when he got it. Sentinel NEVER got back to us about this. I'm not doing this for the insurance. My son passed away suddenly January 2021. It's all I had left of his that meant something to me.
