Absolutely terrible experience with…
Absolutely terrible experience with this car rental agency in Alicante.
The service was beyond unacceptable from the moment we returned the vehicle. The staff member didn’t even bother to say hello. She was on the phone and completely ignored us when we arrived. The only thing she said, in a rude and dismissive tone, was: “Get out of the car.”
Without any explanation or basic courtesy, she immediately went to inspect the windshield and claimed there was an impact. She added a note to the contract without even showing it to me. When I asked to read the document before signing, she bluntly refused and said it wasn’t possible. Then, without any warning, she closed the contract on the spot.
When I asked for an explanation, she told me I could no longer sign because the contract was already closed. She refused to let me review anything and also refused to return my deposit.
I was left with no choice but to leave because I had a flight to catch, feeling completely scammed and powerless.
This agency has zero professionalism, no respect for customers, and highly questionable practices. Avoid this place at all costs.

we regret to read your review and we would like to clarify some points regarding the cautionary deposit:
Your card was subject to a pre-authorization and not a charge. This means that Sicily by Car never actually collected the deposit amount; it was only temporarily held as a security guarantee.
Upon closing your rental agreement, we immediately sent a release notification to your card issuer to unlock the deposit. In your case, only the actual rental cost was ultimately charged to your account.
Since the deposit was a hold and not a withdrawal, no refund transfer is necessary. The held amount will simply become available in your balance again as soon as your bank processes the release.
Please note that processing times depend entirely on your banking institution and the "pending" transaction will eventually disappear from your statement once the balance is restored.

I’ve rented from this company twice
I’ve rented from this company twice, and overall I had a good experience. The cars were very good, quite new, and drove perfectly without any issues.
However, I can’t give 5 stars because there are some important things that need improvement. Both times, the cars were very dirty, inside and outside, and it didn’t feel like they had been properly cleaned or disinfected.
Also, on both occasions, the windshield washer fluid was empty, and I had to buy it myself, which shouldn’t happen with a rental car.
If they improve cleanliness and basic maintenance, this would easily be a 5-star service.

Unproblematic experience
Simple and uncomplicated. All the staff we dealt with were helpful and polite. Car was basically new, no issues when returning the vehicle (during opening hours).
