Useless piece of kit, can’t record, Netflix only loads half the time, doesn’t always remember which shows in a series you’ve watched. If you have Sky Q DO NO CHANGE, worse decision I made.

Worst decision of 2022 DON'T EVEN…

Worst decision of 2022 DON'T EVEN CONSIDER GETTING SKY GLASS!!!
I hate it so much its making watching TV a miserable experience.
Sky lied and said that WIFI booster would help to make it fast enough to download. Ha ha! Biggest joke ever. Doesn't deserve any stars!

Calmness is a superpower

It's great if you want to watch something that freezes, speeds up, goes blank or really just does want it feels like doing. Sky Hit and Miss would be a better title than Sky Glass.

If I could give it zero star I would!

If I could give it zero star I would!

If you’re considering sky glass please PLEASE don’t do it!

The stress this tv has caused me is ridiculous!

It’s drained our Wi-Fi

No devices now work
In our house!
All our phones have to use 4G, my son can’t play his PlayStation.

Upgrade to stronger Wi-Fi (the highest apparently) and still nothing works.

Tv freezes mid way through programs, picture quality is appalling
You can’t watch programs you’ve recorded that night, you have to wait until the are uploaded to the streaming service.

It’s actually quite tricky to use!
If the button meant up on sky Q it means down on Sky glass
it’s confusing and difficult!

Logging into each streaming service each time is a pain in the ar*!

Been a loyal sky customer for nearly 20 years but the customer services with all these issues has been awful!

I would happily give this tv back or burn the bloody thing!

SkyGlass - very very flawed

As an early adopter of SkyGlass I probably know more than most about it in real life settings and I absolutely know more about it than the guys you get if you call Sky support as I’ve proven over many hours on the phone and after a replacement unit too. It is basically a good idea but very flawed and Sky are not doing anything about it anytime soon.

Firstly this is not a review of it as a TV, it is ok as a TV and not needing a dodgy aerial, cable link and satellite dish is great, especially in a flat, but it’s not a TV it is a service.

As a service you need to know that you are not in control of it, after all you didn’t buy it, it belongs to Sky and they control it and if you stupidly leave the default microphone on then they are listening to you all the time too. Ok so far, but irritating if on or off as they are constantly trying to sell you more services.

So you think you’ve added a movie on TV last night to your playlist just to find that all you’ve done is told Sky you’d maybe like to watch it, so when you next go on your playlist to try to watch it all you’ll get is a link to another subscription or a rental.

To work the thing you have to reprogram your brain to stop thinking it’s an old fashioned TV or recorder/box it is not; it is a cloud based computer and it’ll take some working out but without any keyboard nor mouse which you’ll be used to.

Working through the (some frankly weird) online settings, options and links and buttons is time consuming and very badly designed, if not basically illogical and over the months no improvement upgrades either; anyone at Sky watching?

Then be aware that it needs a cast iron fast fibre connection in place, usually not what you get off the street by any provider in the UK.

We started with private dedicated 50/50mb fibre (not BT/Virgin etc etc) and we had to upgrade to 150/150mb to make it useable ie stable. Ok so far but…

There are still lags, so lips not syncing, subtitles not syncing or subtitles just not working at all even if available. No good if like me you need hearing aids and previously relied on matching up via an output and a Bluetooth link. Not remotely possible so, if a functioning output port is crucial to you, think first.

And despite it being clever, smart even, it keels over eg freezes about once a week and needs to be unplugged and switched back on just like early or old computers.

And remember that once you’re in you’re in, you gave away your old TV and boxes after all! Very sad and proves that pioneers get scalped…

TV skips freezing

TV skips freezing , loading. We're promised it would work in out location. Tried to phone them last night, said someone would answer after I spoke to woman. Waited 10 minutes till I was cut off. They promise things will work but doest. Sky are fraudulent and complete lies. Totally disgusted still paying contract. My daughter relies on WiFi for gcses, husband runs own business. Me chronic pain and lung disease can watch TV or anything else. Makes me feel so angry and my family CHEATED THROUGH THERE LIES.

A total rip off

A total rip off! Ofcom the regulator have let consumers down! Sky glass consumers locked into contracts should get a full refund for monthly payments and compensation for the stress and period of time they were without features such as recording or multimedia and of course significantly reduced content/variety of channels .1. Hidden costs as you have to change remote battery every 6 weeks! Reduction in variety of content - especially for minority groups. No recording feature. No ability to link iPhone or other products as normal. It’s madness no consumer would willing agree to
Lose those features AND lose hundreds of channels for a higher price. A terrible product that often freezers or suddenly has software glitches. I hate it and I’m locked in if 2 years! Paying £109+ £25 a month to Sky. Do not buy this Sky Glass product. Shame on Sky and Shame to Ofcom for turning a blind eye to
It too. Toothless regulator! They advertised ‘Sky TV’ this was sneaky as they know full well most consumers have come to think of it as the standard channels that you get on most sky packages like skyQ. Nobody thought you would literally just get Sky owned channels. Utter disgrace that this has been allowed.

Terrible product.

Constantly freezing and nothing you can do apart from switch off at the mains and wait for it to reset. Sky replaced original with a new tv and it worked for the first few weeks but now, surprise. . It’s happening again. Delivery company told me that they are constantly swapping TV’s. Wondering how can this be? I’m not changing my broadband usage. I am starting to suspect that the sky broadband speed is fluctuating or the tv software is flawed. Worst bit of tech I have ever purchased.

Cannot understand all the negatives about sky glass

Cannot understand all
The negative reviews. Our 65 inch sky glass tv arrived yesterday. It’s amazing. I’m surprised that even I could set everything up myself. Great picture and sound quality. Every time I have spoken to customer service they have been super helpful. I would say make your own mind up and treat yourselves. And if your not happy you have 31 days to arrange to send back.

Don’t do it.

Don’t do it.
I’ve had sky glass since November 2021 and it is by far the worst system I’ve EVER had. The system constantly fails, has to be rest, displays various fault/error messages. I’ve cancelled the sports package because you can’t watch live sport with the system crashing.
I’ve contacted Sky on numerous occasions only to be fob off with ridiculous excuses Like, “your Wi-Fi signal isn’t strong enough, or your tv is to far away from your router”. Strange but I get over 400mbps and the tv is in the same room as the router.
All that for a system that cost over £1000. Never again!!!

Don’t bother wasting your time

Don’t bother wasting your time
If I could return it I would,
We have had nothing but trouble, tv constantly freezes that you then have to turn it off and in again
You’re lucky to watch live tv without this issue happening!
As it runs of wifi it uses so much other devices have no chance, we actually get to the point we turn Wi-Fi off on our devices and use mobile data
The puck that replaced multi room is just as bad
Turning a tv on should be simple… no not with sky glass just pressing the on button once never happens it’s multiple times
Speaking to sky we have to repeat ourselves!
When I was ordering I checked multiple times was she 100% sure that I could use my existing bracket as it’s a swivel one which is best due to the shape of our front room we can have it just flat on a wall
This wasn’t the case!
We pay over £100 a month for all of this hassle
Don’t waste your money on it

Not worth it😡😡

What as consumers can we do regarding this failure with sky glass.I went from sky q last July 2022 and I’m sorry I bothered as the glass tv has been a disaster from start to finish 😡 I get a fantastic broadband connection but this hasn’t helped as other people have mentioned on here with black screen freezing screen switching off etc etc.. I noted recently all my tv’s failures and contacted sky.Tomorrow they are coming to take my old one away and replace it with a new one so let’s see how this works out.

If i could give it back i would

If i could give it 0 star i would. Its the most expensive black mirror ive purchased,
It frequently freezes during programs daily, batteries in the remote ive replaced 4 times in 3 months,
And remote functions are rubbish.
I really didn't think that sky could get any worse but congratulations guys.
Ohh not to mention i was left with the impossible setup of a 65" tv on my own as the engineer said it wasn't his problem...if i could give it back i would.

Poor quality

Poor quality, turns off mid programme, layout for catch up bad, sometimes just decides the Internet is not connected and looses all the passwords so has to be reprogrammed, some channels come up with errors. Just all-round poor. The sky help doesn't have any way to give feedback.
