Fake product plus unsolicited subscription

Fake product. Did not work and after a one time purchase I was automatically signed up for an account with subscription which they automatically charged to my account without permission. To get a refund I had to spend $15 to ship it back only to find out they would not refund that, or the cost of shipping the original product I didn’t ask for or the taxes so now not only have they charged $60 unauthorized I’m losing $10 on taxes and shipping and another $15 on shipping it back. Trash. Don’t trust this product or company.

Difficult refund process, deceitful billing

I purchased the introductory Smileactives kit (tooth whitening gel, toothbrush) and used the product. It has a very slight effect on my teeth, but I continued using it. I meant to cancel it, but forgot and the second shipment was mailed out. Upon receiving it, I immediately cancelled my subscription and requested that I return the 2nd shipment and start the process of a return. I tracked the return via the USPS, as instructed, and waited my "7-10 business days" for my refund. On day 9 I received 2 partial refunds of the 2 charges they had made, as the 2nd shipment was 3 times the stated amount, as the fine print states that the agreed upon amount would be charged in 3 payments. The 2 partial refunds were of the initial shipment #2 and the 2nd of the 3 payments. I was guanteed that the 3rd payment would not process. After the return and cancellation, I also deleted my payment information to circumvent any additional charges. When I called the company to see why I was only getting partial refunds, they stated they had not refunded the shipping - which they jacked up x 3, as the initial shipment had zero shipping, the 3rd payment isn't being charged (which included the shipping), so they rolled ALL of the shipping into the 2nd payment/shipment and kept a portion of my "refund". I was told I would receive a credit in the amount of $94.91, but only received 2 partial payments which totaled $81.99. I absolutely would NOT reccomend this company or product, as they are, indeed, deceitful in their charging and refund practices. It's take 3 calls already to try to straighten this out and I actually only have an email stating that I was partially refunded as they stated it would take "another 3-5 business days for my refund to process." DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. Also, the product doesn't really do as much, if any, of what it promises. I should know better, but I made the choice to try, as they guaranteed a 60 day money back refund, even if all of the product was used - which, it wasn't, as I sent back the 2nd shipment unopened. Bottom line, it's a difficult process to get a refund (still hoping it goes through, as promised) and the product doesn't live up to the advertisement.

Never signed up for a subscription plan

I purchased Smileactives and was enrolled without my knowledge in a subscription plan that sent me products every three months and charged my credit card $90.00 for the three containers of Smileactives whitener that I received. Holy smokes! That is expensive. I called and tried to convince their customer service representative that I wanted to cancel this plan. I got pushback like crazy from her and I finally got an email saying that the plan was canceled. We'll see. She said two more tubes of the product were scheduled to be sent to me in April. I changed my credit card. Good luck trying to collect $60.00 in April. Don't buy this product. It really works--my husband and I really like it--but you'll get roped into a subscription plan and they'll milk your credit card account.

I should have done more research before…

I should have done more research before ordering, that's on me. The hidden "recurring subscription" is just bad business. If you have a good product, no reason to hide it. Hard to cancel. No pre-ship warning. I had no idea this was a subscription, with an outrageous price! The product did not work for me, using twice daily per instructions, no noticeable difference. I did not attempt to return, my fault for not reading other reviews, so I can't comment on customer service.

Beware! Multiple charges and subscription

Horrible customer service and fraudulent practices! They do not disclose that you are automatically enrolled in a subscription after first low price shipment. Next shipment is$149!!!! Try to cancel and you keep getting billed. Miss ONE payment and they send you to collections. No attempt to contact you. BUYER BEWARE

Wish I Checked Trustpilot Before Ordering--Awful Experience

I wished I had checked out this company on Trustpilot before the one-time order of its product! As other reviewers have noted, this company put me on a subscription, which I specifically did not want, and continued to send me products every three months and charge my credit card. When I contacted customer service, I was told --after being given the run-around--I would not receive any other shipments and there would be no further charges to my credit card. I asked for verification in writing and was told I would receive an automatic email confirmation--first I was told I would get it immediately, then I was told within 30 minutes of the end of the call, and then "on this day" (which I clarified to mean sometime before the end of the day). I pointed out the conflicting statements. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told none were available. I am going to report this company to my credit card company, and will be looking into the pattern of business practices of this company.

Criminals

Criminals. I cancelled my subscription only to be charged again and again. Finally got a person on the phone who was unhelpful and rude. Had to raise my voice to be heard. This company is terrible. Do not recommend. Zero stars.

I ordered the BOGO deal being promoted…

I ordered the BOGO deal being promoted on FB for $25 to try the Smileactives whitening gel. I received the product and tried it out for a month and noticed minimal results if any. I had no intentions of purchasing again. The month after my purchase, I received a large bottle of whitening gel that I had not ordered and noticed a new $30 charge. I was completely unaware of any subscription that I had signed up for and had never created an account with them, so I contacted customer service. I was then told that I was signed up for a 3 part payment plan for the $90 bottle of whitening gel sitting in front of me. After going back and forth with customer service, the only thing I am able to do is return the product (I pay all shipping costs) and hope they will refund my money and cancel any further charges. Though after reading through other people's experiences with this company I know I will have to continue checking in to ensure this actually happens.

They are dishonest

If there was a negative number I would rate this product. It wasn't an effective product and when you try to cancel they continue to charge your account. I had to make several calls to get them to stop sending the product. I had to pay to send them back and then theycharged my account for shipping so it cost me 22.00 in postage fees. They lie and tell you one thing but your credit card reflects another. Do not get involved in this company. Morgan

Mostly concerned about subscription.

Mostly concerned about subscription.
If you think you are buying a single container of their product, you are wrong, wrong, wrong. After I canceled the subscription, they said I had $122 I still owed them. Shady business model.
Simply for this reason I do not recommend them.
Why is it a person cannot buy a single unit of of a product these days?

The company is AWFUL!

The company is AWFUL!! Made an order 1x there was no way of me knowing I was in a subscription once I placed the order
Contact Smileactives spoke to Mary explained my situation. She did not want to cancel themselves membership. Finally I was told it was canceled through an email. Nope not true I once again get charged and received an email of a break down of what I will owe in the near future. I contacted my CC company to dispute it and closed my account. Once again I was charged because it’s a subscription. Now I’m on hold 45mins waiting to talk to my CC company as I type this. I would NEVER EVER recommend this company. They are awful business people.
