Migration to their new network failed…

Migration to their new network failed to work properly. Tried to get satisfaction through CCTS however, did not win and have exhausted myself during the four months this has taken. The old story is from my end, everything went wrong. The details are much too long to get into here.

Speakout is great

Speakout is great. But if you don't know what your doing it's not so great. When you hand out the kit tell us where to go on the hook up part of the phone or send directions. 👋

Speakout is worst service provider…

Speakout is worst service provider company having no customer service, it never connects your call to customer care centre, after hearing all thr options it asks to call back later every time you try to connect.
Not only, I had been using yearly plan and had $789.00 balance in February and in March it was set to zero for no reason and even I was not informed. I came to know when I had no service, since I had been using this for many years and wanted to keep this numner so I recharged my account and switched to other carrier.
They are really crooks, do not even think of getting service from this company, no customer care service, limited service, expensive plans and no respect for customers.
I usually do not write reviews, but I have been so much disappointed with this company, I not only lost my money but also wasted my time to get solution of issue but never connected to customer care. and finally switched to other carrier.
Stay away from this corrupt company.

a garbage company

My airtime was set to zero. I wanted to transfer my number to other provider, so I bought a new SIM card for their new network intending to activate my existing number first, but their online page never worked. I called their customer service, but can never go through. It wasted my money and a lot of time!

Total ripoff..

Total ripoff... the migration was a nightmare. I had no service for 3 of the 4 weeks...numerous attempts to phone, email, fill out contact us forms online resulted in nothing. No response. Why are customers forced to top up a minimum of $25 at a time? We are being overcharged ...I went with Chatr because Freedom could not port my number!!! so far so good...signal strong, zero dropped calls data works as expected...inconsistent with Speak Out. 1 bar service at best 2 bars...Data was in and out...unable to make or receive phone calls for 3 weeks...pathetic service I complained to CRTC and twice now, they email me back saying sorry for the delay they have escalated the complaint but still waiting...not surprised. I am sure many are filing complaints. If anyone wants to start a class action case I am on board. They even made it difficult to port my number over, cutting my service a day before plan expires so I'm forced to top up more that I should have to to have active service restored just to be able to cancel...Freedom mobile told me it takes 2 weeks to port. Remind them that your phone number is your account number include your IMEI and password (PS) Speakout blocks the easy check feature so you have to do it physically...I have a Pixel 10 ...no one else makes it this difficult. I am out my balance , my time, my service, almost lost my number...Still waiting on CRTC ...SpeakOut are unethical crooks...good riddance. I will never return, even if they offer me a years free service. Go to hell. Avoid...You have been warned!!!

They are absolute crooks ,they didnt…

They are absolute crooks ,they didnt honor my 1 year 25$ 365 day plan, was supposed to be good until Aug 2026. With their new setup am trying to use up my 15.40 balance but they have rigged it so its impossible to use it and leave the crooks in rear view mirror. I added 25$ to try and use up my balance, now at 40.40 , the 19.99 a month was only option to choose, I dont believe it will cover 19.99 twice and they have cheated me. They wont answer phone or even polite emails, absolute crooks should be in prison

My account balance disappered.

I have a yearly contract with Speakout7Eleven and only periodically check my account. I recently logged in to check my account only to see a red notice that the balance in my account was zero. The message also stated that I need to contact them in order to get a new SIM card. WT*! I had no prior warning of this. I immediately contacted them via email regarding my balance but have not heard back so far.
From my research on Reddit, it appears that 7Eleven is forcing their customers into a monthly plan. If this is what is happening without proper notice to their customers ahead of time, then 7Eleven has acted in an unethical and downright sneaky way. If no meaningful response is received within the next day or so, I will be make a formal complaint with the CRTC.

DO NOT PURCHASE 7ELEVEN SPEAK OUT OR ZTAR MOBILE PLANS

This used to be a decent Pay-as-You-Go provider but then I am not sure what happened. I believe they may have sold as they no longer offer that plan.
Since I took to long to transfer or change plans I had to purchase a new SIM card, came home and purchased a one month plan, just so my phone was active and I could get my number released to change providers. Next thing I knew it the next day I receive an email from ZTAR MOBILE, out of Austin Texas saying my "plan was cancelled because we did not have enough stock to fulfill your order and your payment has not yet been refunded." What a load of garbage!
DO NOT PURCHASE ANY PLANS FROM 7ELEVEN SPEAKOUT OR THIS ZTAR MOBILE.
I am waiting for my refund plus I told them they need to refund me the SIM card I paid for as well.
Pathetic company!

a garbage company. It shut down my wife's prepaid phone service and swallowed prepaid credits without notice. I have called the custom service number hundreds times but never have a change talk to a real person; only a robot rambling with me.

DO NOT BOTHER WITH SPEAKOUT

These idiots...I switched over to their stupid 4G service, NEVER GOT THE $$$ CREDIT WE WERE OFFERED ON THE WEBSITE FOR STAYING WITH THIS PHONE PROVIDER. A few weeks in, my texts STOPPED SENDING TO ALL CONTACTS. Tried everything to get it to sync up as it showed them being sent with timestamps on my end. 3 different calls to customer service, all over 30 mins of them trying to trouble shoot (it took me 3 days to even get ahold of a customer service rep as "we are experiencing higher than usual call volume" and "call back later" no matter WHAT time of day you call), a BOOKED appointment by one of their service people, an indian woman, confirmed that they would be calling me within 24 hours to fix this so I can use my phone again, I pay $50 a month for this, which is higher than anyone I know who pays for a phone...NO ONE HAS CALLED ME YET TO FIX THIS, WITH A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT NOT HAPPENING 3 DAYS AGO. I waited ALL day at my house for this call. My plan is set to expire in 3 days, I intuitively got the Lucky mobile sim sent to me at the beginning of this nightmare switch from 3G to 4G as could never pay online to top up my phone, always had to trek on down to the only 711 in a valley with 70 thousand people in it... so I WILL end the Speakout "service" aka SCAM and be moving on to Lucky. NEVER get a Speakout phone plan. THEY ARE A SCAM and I predict them shutting down sooner than later.

Beware of losing your money and phone number to this automaton

A few years ago I bought a 7 eleven speakout SIM card, which I top up online; no plan, pay-per-use. This is for a mobile phone that I only use for in-town driving, to make infrequent urgent calls (lost: directions, flat tire: tow-truck, etc.). When I went to top-up my account online, which must be done yearly to keep rollover account money and phone number from expiring, all these things occurred:
1) my account, which should have about $50 in it, was at zero.
2) when I correctly (and repeatedly) entered all my information, including bank card confirmation, an error message prompted me to call.
3) Several calls over two days to their customer service number from both my home phone and mobile, and their 611 mobile number, resulted in a long automated message that hangs up after redirecting to a auto message that says they are "busy, call back later," no matter what department extension number I entered. The *711# to check account balance would also hang up on me.
4) I left several emails explaining the problem, using their online email form, without a single response, despite the message that promises a reply after submitting that email.
7 eleven speakout offers a cheap service initially, but beware, lest you also be robbed of your account, money and phone number by bad, automated "customer service" as described above. Problems cannot be resolved without real people. Moving forward, I plan to pay significantly more to another mobile company, who has proven good customer service by real people: T-Mobile Prepaid Department $10 month for 2gig data using their Franklin wifi hotspot box, paired with iPlum, a VoIP app. This is what I've done for international traveling, and I'll try using it locally now, as well.

This company is an absolute mess

This company is an absolute mess. I’ve been trying to contact them for three days just for an automated woman to pop up, saying that their call centre has “ higher than normal call volumes”, for 3 days straight! It’s obvious to me they don’t have the manpower to answer phones if they even have an active call centre at the moment or anybody working in one!

lol needless to say, I will be sticking with my current cell phone provider!

Customer service is ... problematic

They have a website for account access, which is nice enough. However, it appears that the website allowed me to load money onto an invalid SIM/phone number. This would be fine if it were possible to reach customer support to ask them to reverse the charges. However, dialing customer support across two different days consistently results in a message saying "we are experiencing high call volumes", after which their support line hangs-up (ie, not even the option to wait in a queue). This, combined with other observations trying to contact them, leaves me with a summary of: very poor customer service.

scam

I got the speakout number just to get confirmation codes sent to my phone. It's a scam. I genuinely haven't used the phone for anything in the last 3 months, and $20 was taken out of my prepaid credit in that time. There's also no communication on what these 'expenses' are, as I'm not using phone, text, or data. Don't recommend. There's a lot of other scams they run in the fine print of the contract you agree to as well

Famous as a rip off for the poor

Famous as a rip off for the poor. They charge for both incoming and out going text and calls. They have errors in their billing, money just disappears.
I tried to use their "data plan" and although +$10 for 100MB is a rip off, they were not even able to get it working on three different phones. They said we will not help you you must contact the manufacturer. You ever trided to call a phone manufacturer, impossible?

There is one thing this firm is good for, if you have an old phone and you just want to leave it in a place like a car or boat, the minutes don't expire for a year. So useful for emergency calls.
