Biggest mistake a small business could make. This service is tailored more than likely to already well established business that dont have to worry about need materiel cost upfront.
my first transaction using this site (instead of square, zelle, cashapp, etc) and im having to wait a week to get the labor paid out and my customer is now having to wait a week for the parts cost to be refunded back to her. So right now this poor woman has had to fork out double for the parts cost currently and im having to eat all the service fees. This debacle is also causing her vehicle to be down for longer than what we initially projected. TERRIBLE platform for starting out or generally small businesses.
I would rather pay the larger percentage rate with Square.
I have no disputes or issues with my account, and I was not provided any reason for its closure. Since it is their platform, they are free to take whatever actions they see fit. I appreciate support from other platforms like Mollie and Worldpay, which have continued to support my business.
However, Stripe has been holding a customer payment without any explanation. Since April 13th, I have not received the payment even though it was cleared transaction in my stripe, and my customer has not received a refund either. This feels like theft. Stripe is really a poor platform for this kind of behavior.
I have reported this issue multiple times without any resolution. I believe holding someone else's money without justification is unacceptable. I will now file a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman.
I do not recommend Stripe for small businesses. Both my customer and I are very disappointed with the poor service and lack of support.
scam company they held $95k in my account they told me that will release the money after 6 months but i never got it . the funds is still there . and finally they said will not able to release them neither they refunded to customer . f**king scammers

Stay away from Stripe at all costs. This company can destroy your cash flow and seriously hurt your business. They suddenly impose payout holds, 20% reserves for 60 days, and even 35% rolling reserves without proper warning. Your money gets locked while you still have suppliers, ads, and expenses to pay.
Customer support is extremely poor, and getting clear answers is almost impossible. We will never use Stripe again. Very bad experience and not recommended for serious businesses.

I was forced by streamlabs to use this to transfer credit card tips into my bank account. This entire company is ran by the dumbest AI. I just need to make 1 single transfer and its literally impossible AI is constantly flagging my stream page for saying "donation" which it does not, ive been verified and under review 3 times in less that 24 hours. Don't use Stripe or Streamlabs this could happen to you.

Inability to transfer funds.
The response to this was to contact customer support. I have done this multiple times. First, I was told it is VastAIs problem. Its not I can see that the funds were transferred between May 8th and 22nd.
Also, I changed to using wise. Last Friday and recieved my first payout the following Friday. I also have another pending payout coming for this Friday. It clearly is not a vast problem. It is a "Stripe has an inability to perform its primary function" problem
My next call with customer support involved me going into my account and verifying my birthday. I did that yesterday. Fingers-crossed I eventually get the transfer.
But it does baffle me why anyone would use this service. I didn't even switch because of how long the funds were taking. I figured the first transfer may take longer. I really did not expect to be waiting a month later still so eventually this would have caused me to find an alternative. But I actually switched because of Stripe's inability to do 2-factor authentication. It is the weirdest thing. I have never had it happen with any other service for 2-factor. But it will send the authentication code like an hour after you request it. So logging in was a nightmare, because the authentication did not consistently work everytime.
I like the UI. But an intuitive interface is pointless when you can't do anything with it.

This company wants to take credit card payments for you and wait 10 to 14 days before they give you your money. On the first transaction. Then they want to completely only pay you one time a week at thereafter. It is ridiculous they charge astronomical fees and use your money for 2 weeks before they release it when they've already got their money from the transaction immediately. I would highly recommend staying away from these guys
I setup ACH payment for the first time and by default, Stripe blocked my customer's payment. After calling in multiple times, the agent told me to uncheck some of the default risk settings but that did not work. My customer tried paying me 4 times before I decided to use another payment platform to process my payments. Stripe was unhelpful and this was the worst, most unprofessional experience I've faced. I thought they were a payment processor that can receive payments! I guess that's not the case.
The worst system on the market. I had two memberships renew this week and they processed the first payment, no problems. Then a day later hit my account with another one. It is stuck in Pending but my account is affected and I cannot spend the money. Never again. This company is the worst.
They have horrible customer support. I have dealing with for 4 days and I all get is AI. You can’t talk to a real agent. I don’t see how anyone can give a star.
I would give a minus 50.
For a payment processing platform, their security systems seem alarmingly loose and insecure. Two days ago, someone gained access to my Stripe account, which I discovered when my verification code was suddenly being sent to a different phone number.
I immediately contacted Support, especially since there is no direct phone support available. Over the past 48 hours, I have received two email responses, neither of which addressed the actual situation or acknowledged the seriousness of a potential account compromise.
Given the severity of this issue, I am extremely disappointed with both the lack of urgency and the inadequate response.

I took a loan through Stripe (offered in my Stripe dashboard). Loan facility is provided by Fundbox. They aren't just not trustworthy, they are breaching Australian laws.
First, I never got a copy of my loan agreement. Stripe tells me to contact Fundbox to get it, they say I'm not on file. Strange...because loan repayments come out through Stripe every day. The loan says it's over 18 months with a max repayment %. However, they have put the repayments at the max % from the start, even though that means I'll pay it off in less than 12 months. The rates are killing my cash flow. Several days of going back and forth and neither company cares. Will be going to the Australian banking regulator next. Avoid Stripe and Fundbox at all costs.

Hold money for more than a week. In 21st century behave like it’s 1800s. Didn’t know that. Tried once, won’t use it again, maybe except for an emergency. Do not recommend

If I could give a zero, I would. The platform I do online therapy started accepting payments via stripe and I used that option by mistake. It’s taking forever to approve the transaction, meaning I can’t do my therapy session till it approves the payment. And I have funds on my account. If you have any other payment option, use it instead of this flaming dumpster fire. Unbelievable.

This is an AI company
No personalized service
Absolutely the worst
If you have a business and want to use payment processing of any kind to not use stripe, your customers will go to a different business
I had dealt with the company for five years they went to stripe for payment processing. I will never go back to that company again because of strike.
If you decide to use them, good luck with your business

Stripe have our money for a Hyrox ticket that was sold. We can see the money in the Stripe account that you have to open but they make it impossible to get it out. No options for contact on their website. Only way to get contact is via Trustpilot and then no help as tell you to contact the original seller! We know other people in the same situation. Why is it impossible to get our money? We would never recommend Stripe.

Stripe terminated our account with zero notice. One day we were processing payments; the next, every transaction was blocked and we could no longer bill a single existing customer. For a SaaS business, that’s not an inconvenience - it’s an extinction-level event handed down by email.
The stated reason: a vague accusation that we’d provided “misleading information” in violation of their Restricted Businesses list. No examples. No specifics. No indication of what we’d actually done or could have done differently. When I wrote back asking which category they believed applied to our hospitality-adjacent SaaS, the reply confirmed the closure was final and informed me that any further emails on the subject would be auto-closed. That’s the entire due process: an accusation, a termination, and a door slammed shut.
What every founder considering Stripe should understand:
• They can close your account at any time, for reasons they will not explain, with no notice period and no meaningful appeal.
• “High-risk” is defined by them, applied by them, and not subject to your input. The category is broad enough that plenty of legitimate businesses fall inside it without realizing.
• Once a decision is made, it is made. “Finalized” is not a negotiating position — it’s the end of the conversation.
• Your customer billing, your revenue, and your operational continuity all sit on top of a relationship that Stripe can sever unilaterally and instantly.
If you’re building a business on Stripe, have a second processor integrated and ready to switch to before you need it. By the time you get the email, it’s already too late — the payments have stopped, the customers can’t be charged, and you’re rebuilding your billing stack under emergency conditions while your revenue sits frozen.
We’re going through that now. Don’t be us.

I wish I had looked into the negative reviews for Stripe before using them for my business. There is literally nothing in their terms and conditions that says they hold money for 14 days. We called them out on it and requested the specific section within the Stripe Services Agreement (SSA) that outlines this initial delay, as it is not currently included and they were not able to provide it. They did however confirm that supposedly only the first payout takes 14 days, and all future payouts would take only 2 business days. I am on the 4th business day on the third transaction we've received through stripe and I have still not been paid out. So they're holding my funds hostage, accruing interest on it for themselves AND keeping the transactions processing fee. What a joke of a company, complete scam. 10/10 DO NOT recommend Stripe and since I am a part of multiple national remodeling associations, I will be informing everyone not to use Stripe for their processing.
Dear Stripe Customer Service, don't bother with your BS copy/paste response. You have 17k reviews and your average review is 1.8 stars.
