Froze my money and gave me the runaround, I had staff to pay and they froze my money the day before payday.
How will I get compensated? I worked with these guys for 4 years and the way they treat a long term customer is appalling.
I can't even trust this Merchant anymore!
If you can actually offer a more transparent customer service and resolve issues a lot quicker I wouldn't be writing this review. The actions made by Stripe are unethical and there should be dialogue and quick ways to resolve issues instead of freezing our payouts and not responding with any solutions. Nobody has time for a waiting game during these difficult times in this climate.

Stripe has made my one-man show look like a team! It has been easy to integrate with various apps that I use and even picked up my email - customer service game!
Powerful help at a great price.
It is so easy to use.

I lost $252 (an 8 player escape room game) over someone booking a game online with a stolen credit card. Eight people showed up and played the game. But I was only allowed 48 hours to contest the dispute.
The very small amount of time I had available to deal with this was spent trying to find a support phone number for Stripe, (which doesn't apparently exist), then trying to figure out exactly where to upload proof that the service was delivered.
I emailed the person that disputed the charge (like it tells you to do in Stripe), asking her to call me to discuss or see if the phone numbers involved with the charge were familiar. I also asked her respond to me quickly, as there was a time constraint to try to get to the bottom of it, but she never responded at all, leaving me with just having to accept the dispute along with the fees. This information could've aIso helped to actually catch the person that had stolen her card! Not happy whatsoever, and I fully plan to discontinue service with Stripe at my first opportunity.

Stripe has been a game for business. From setting automatic payments to sending invoices! I mean it’s a one stop shop for business transactions! If you are looking for something like that… stripe is the thing to use!

Stripe's admin interface suddenly stopped working with my browser, making it impossible for me to continue the normal operation of my business. After contacting Stripe support, they told me I ought to use a different browser (not a realistic possibility), but they did make a change that allowed me to continue using my preferred one temporarily.
I started searching for a replacement to Stripe - not easy because of Stripe's near-monopoly on consumer payment processing. Most other services I look at that might serve my needs, turn out to be front-ends for Stripe or Paypal and not really independent payment processors themselves. After months of frustrating searching, the temporary fix that Stripe support had implemented for me, stopped working with my browser again in August, and this time I have been unable to get any response from Stripe support at all.
At the moment I am using an emergency backup browser on a separate computer to access Stripe and process payments by a laborious manual process. It has customer-visible consequences because customers have to exchange email with me and with Stripe on every order; many are dissuaded from doing so and I lose the sales. I cannot integrate Stripe with my Web site, for more automated processing, without proper browser compatibility. This may drive me out of business. It certainly made the pandemic and post-pandemic supply chain issues hit my bottom line a lot harder.
I wouldn't have wanted to start using Stripe in the first place if I had known it would lock me into a system that would suddenly become unusable, with no easy way to switch to an alternative.
But they're the only game in town...
EDIT: After Stripe responded to this review, inviting me to contact them for email support, I wrote to their email support with a detailed technical description of my issues. They replied with generic form-letter debugging advice that ignored every one of my specific points and was ridiculously inapplicable, not even in the same general subject matter area as my message. The rep appeared literally not to know the difference between a browser and a server.

I've used Stripe for my business. Funds are usually available in a few days and automatically sent to my account. That is a plus. However, the site is geared towards individuals with extensive programing ability and knowledge (not my expertise), and it is nearly impossible to find a phone number for technical support. When I am able to get a hold of technical support (which is extremely difficult to do), it is hit or miss as to whether they have the knowledge to fix your issue (I often wonder if they are working from home and I interrupted them playing a video game or watching their favorite show on TV).

By far, the worst service I have ever experienced. Support is basically useless. Not one of them has any idea what is going on. They will withhold your money from you with no explanation as to why or any clear solution. All you have to do is Google Stripe and most of the reviews will be negative. Speaks for itself. Step up your game, Stripe or give up. Much better providers out there.

Using Stripe has been a game changer for my biz. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to take payments and manage their income streams for their business!

I use Stripe for a system I developed that lets people enter events. The available API and ease of use (I use Ruby on Rails) made implementation super easy. Prior to using Stripe, everything was done by bank transfer that required someone to confirm the money had been received, but Stripe takes that step out and allows people to cancel entries and get refunds with no intervention from the organisers. It's been a real game changing!

Best processing company ever! Customer service is responsive and fantastic! Stripe has made our business 100 times more efficient! Once we started charging cards and sending sales receipts, it was a huge game changer!

Stripe has the lowest bounce rate/checkout issues for any payment gateway we've used so far.
Its seamless and easy to use. The recent introduction of Stripe Apps to the dashboard will be a game changer. I'm already seeing improved value from some of the apps like Mercury.

I have been using the service for a few weeks now. I have had 0 disputes, 0 high risk charges. I accidentally charged a customer twice for the same thing, refunded it to them immediately (literally the minute after I hit charge) and I received an email saying I was in jeopardy of having my account closed because of large amounts of disputes and high risk charges..? I'm not really sure what to do with that information but it's also near impossible to talk to anyone at stripe so go figure.
**Edit after reply to review from stripe**
I was told that even though my account has had zero charge backs, zero disputes, zero high risk charges that stripe feels like I may one day have disputes and they are preemptively warning me of the potential that they may cancel my account if I one day get disputes. For crying out loud. Fortunately for me the same day they threaten me with actions for things that haven't happened yet they sent me an email asking me to review my experience with them because that's apparently the only way to reach what at least resembles a response from a real person. Update on response from real person. The solution to the possibility that I may one day get disputes or charge backs is for me to pay them for a fraud detection service to mitigate my risk for them. What is this an episode of the sopranos? There were also a long list of complicated coding solutions, some free, some not. The moral of the story is that I'm expected to pay money to stripe reassure their feeling that I may one day be high risk. Not sure what to do with that, I'm not a coder and you guys charge the same processing fees as every other game in town so cancel me or don't I'll gladly go somewhere else-there are many choices.

We use it directly on our website, in our platform, and on our invoices we send directly to customers. It's a game-changer.

After I received my first order with Strip, Stripe asked for facial recognition verification and my account was closed by Stripe after I submitted my information, have you guys ever encountered this problem?

I needed to make a simple adjustment to my account info but did not have access. It took FIVE days of back and forth emails for something that could have been fixed in 5 minutes with a simple phone call. Plot twist! There is no number to call. It's all email. They advertise 24/7 support, but it takes days for them to reply. When they finally do reply, it's at 2am, and the instructions are incorrect. You tell them you don't have the link on your dashboard they tell you to click, send screenshots and they send...THE EXACT SAME INCORRECT INSTRUCTIONS again and again. There are not enough adjectives to describe just how terrible they are.
*EDIT* per Stripe reply: No chance I’m emailing, I think I’ve been pretty clear in previous emails. I’m not playing this game with your company again.

Trash service. 2 business day holds on funds then the bank deposit wait game once released. Chargebacks count as a charge back even if you win. I Refunded last customer and threw the part in the closet. Customers can pay me via cashapp (which can't be disputed) or go to the ATM and pay me cash. Either way I'm now in 100% control of my money and that's how I like it. Never again.
Not everyone likes to contact customer service for any reason. I contacted CS for stripe (non-complaint or problem issue) and follow up was quick, responsive and "on-point".
They quickly took care of everything in a blink of an eye and followed up in a courteous way. I appreciate great customer service / people skills and Stripe CS gets a 110% rating for their professionalism and knowledge. Stripe took the guessing game out of the equation and made it simple and easy to follow along.
Thank you for taking pride and care in the service you provide, it is very much appreciated.
