Disappointing Experience for First-Time Buyers
We viewed a property on behalf of our son and daughter-in-law, who are first-time buyers. After the viewing it was clear the house required far more work than expected, so they decided not to proceed — a normal and reasonable decision.
Following this, the estate agent, Stuart, sent my daughter-in-law an extremely unprofessional and rude message, including a personal comment about me and whether I “live in a perfect house.”
I found this behaviour inappropriate, intimidating, and unnecessary — particularly when dealing with young first-time buyers who are already under pressure. A decision not to buy should be respected, not met with sarcasm or personal remarks.
Based on this experience, I would advise first-time buyers to be cautious.
