External trap
I expected Apple Pay to process my subscription, but Nebula App forced checkout through their own site. That single payment soon multiplied into recurring debits, none of which showed on my Apple receipt.
When I contacted support, their answer was a copy-paste of vague terms and another unexpected $49.99 charge. There’s no way to control or stop the billing cycle.
Generic content, real charges
Nebula Astrology promoted “personalized horoscopes,” but the texts were vague and generic. Worse, billing was constant - weekly deductions that continued after canceling. Even reaching out by email caused another random fee.
Cancelled but still charged
I canceled what I thought was the trial, but Nebula billed me again the next moth. My email asking for a refund got no meaningful response

Opened the Nebula app to check the weekly horoscope. Halfway through, it froze. When I contacted support about an issue, they charged me an additional $50. Completely useless and misleading service.
Charged even after deactivation
Turned off the auto-renewal option in settings, but still got charges from nebula app, which I downloaded the day before it happened. Thhe email I got from support jus said 'your plan remains active' without any explaining or confirming from my side.
Payment redirect trap
While trying to renew inside the app nebula pushed me to their site. Paid there - and found an extra $20 "processing fee" on my card
Surprise recurring charge after free read
Offered a reading - got billed from the app Nebula, which a use for order. Without alert, consent. Sneaky practice
Support demanded payment for resolving issue
So, a few days ago I contacted support expecting help with a missing feature. Instead support of Nebula Astrology app mailed me an invoice for $50 as a processing fee. Still didn't get the help I asked for
Free trial that charged immediately
Signed up for the trial, but Nebula billed me instantly. When I emailed thhem to ask "for what", another fee appeared on my acc
Nebula charged me during the so-called trial
I signed up for what was supposed to be a free trial, but payment happened immediately through their site. The features were minimal and nothing close to wat was shown on the store page
Down the tubes…..
I have previously owned and loved Macbooks, iPhones and iPads, but I hadn’t bought any of their products for a while after drifting out of their ecosystem because of the cost. However, nothing supports analogue synth emulators like an iPad, so I updated my ageing one with a snazzy new iPad Air M3. Unfortunately it runs red hot and the you tube app doesn’t work. Their previously excellent support has been replaced by an idiotic chatbot that asks the same questions repeatedly. When I spend £600 on a tablet I expect key apps and functionality to have gone through basic integration, testing and validation, which they clearly haven’t. Was thinking of switching to an Apple Smartphone, but that, or the purchase of any Apple device, won’t be happening now. Bye bye Apple.
Sudden deductions during app demo
I was demoing nebula's free version for weekly forecasts when it auto-deducted cash from my linked wallet, no authorization prompt, and the forecasts remained inaccessible behind glitches.
Off-app payment and $50 charge?
How is this app still allowed here? Apple, remove this scam immediately.
I paid through Nebula's website after being lured by an ad - not through the App Store. That alone breaks Apple's rules. But it gets worse:
I tapped their support email in the app and somehow got charged $50 shortly after. I never even sent a message.
unexpected charges hit card
i was just exploring nebula for some astrology vibes when suddenly my bank pinged me about a deduction i never authorized - no confirmation screen. it felt like the app just helped itself to my money without asking.

Miguel was a very understanding worker who had a lot of patience and was very kind indeed! Such a kind worker and helped a lot. As a personal assistant i really appreciated his work.
Instagram ads lead to fraudulent billing without content
Nebula caught my eye through Instagram ads promising quick tarot readings for daily decisions. But it forces users to pay via their website, bypassing App Store rules and lacking proper security. I paid expecting insightful cards and interpretations, yet the app stayed blank with no content unlocked. Unauthorized debits started hitting my bank account shortly after, despite no value received
I have extensive experience with Apple…
I have extensive experience with Apple Support over the past 10 years. They used to excel in this area. I can recall no less than two dozen positive interactions with their support apparatus.
Now you cannot schedule calls and everything is handled via chat. The turnaround time for issue resolution is borderline criminal when they are in possession of your money and decide to arbitrarily pause your wallet simply for being a frequent user of their service. In years past I could have this resolved within 2 hours. Now it is literally 2 days. They will draw interest on your money while you are left waiting on someone to review your account.
Support is hot garbage. I will be transitioning away from Apple Pay and iTunes to more consumer friendly products. Their support is effectively non existent since they restructured it to cut costs on support services. It’s a shocking fall for a company that used to set the industry standard.
my repair experience
apple is a company that is well known for being reliable, but i find my experience appalling. in recent days, my phone has been broken. obviously, i take it to apple support and they tell me i need a battery replacement for 95 pounds. i agree and take my phone in for repair. the phone had previously worked when on charge, but upon giving it to the apple employee to run tests, the phone was returned to me broken. the screen didn't work and the phone wouldn't work on charge. i had to reset my apple id and had to wait for 1 week in order to do so when a store employee had said it would take 7 hours. overall, i can see why it may take a while, but a week seems unnecessary.
Apple Is Systematically Violating EU Consumer Rights
As an EU resident, I’m deeply disappointed with Apple’s ongoing refusal to follow European law. Apple blocks my valid Cyprus-issued Visa cards simply because my Apple ID is registered in Finland — despite both being EU countries. This is not just bad UX. It’s illegal under several EU consumer protection laws.
Apple also warns that I’ll lose access to digital content I already paid for if I change my Apple ID region to reflect my current residence. That’s absurd. I’m not trying to bypass anything — I just live and work across borders, like millions of EU citizens.
Here’s what Apple is violating:
Regulation (EU) 2018/302 – Geo-Blocking Regulation: Prohibits blocking or limiting access to digital services or payments based on nationality or location within the EU.
Directive 2011/83/EU – Consumer Rights Directive: Guarantees access to digital content after purchase, regardless of region.
Regulation (EC) No 924/2009 – Cross-Border Payments Regulation: Ensures all EU-issued cards and payment methods are accepted across member states.
This is part of a broader pattern. Apple already lost its fight against the EU over USB-C charging standards — proving they regularly ignore EU law until forced into compliance. Their system still punishes consumers for living internationally or owning businesses in multiple EU countries.
To top it off, they’re nearly impossible to contact. There’s no proper email address. No escalation path. Just generic support loops.
If you live, travel, or work across Europe — avoid Apple’s ecosystem. They do not respect your rights under EU law.
The reason Apple only has 20% market share
As a long, long time Windows/Android user I thought I'd give Apple a try. Not anymore. Ever. After over 4 hours on the phone trying to convince Apple to let me start over establishing my Apple account due to a one-character typo in the phone number I used to establish the account, I gave up. Returned the iPad I'd ordered online through Amazon unopened for a refund. A very slow refund. Is there a reason Apple has only 20% of the market for all of their products worldwide? One wonders.
