Buyer Beware

I bought the backpack from Swiss Gear in March of 2023. The backpack broke after a school year of use. When I tried to return it for warranty in October of 2024, they wanted a label from the backpack that doesn't exist. They told me I had to send it in if I wanted to use my warranty. When I asked where I should send it to, they never replied. In other words, their warranty is worthless!!! Buyer beware! Just tried again by replying to the original email instead of the web portal. Let's see if anything happens now.

Ordered 3 pc set of Swiss gear luggage…

Ordered 3 pc set of Swiss gear luggage from AMAZON in August for $590.48. Used large suitcase for the 1st time this December. Thought the wheel was wobbly when we pushed it to the car going to the airport. It arrived with one wheel completely missing on a short flight and another wheel and casing are ready to fall out. I have photos of the damaged suitcase that I included on my emails that bounced back. Too late to return to Amazon past 30 day order timeframe. They advised I call or email Swiss Gear directly. That was two weeks ago and I have left 4 messages and had 2 emails returned undeliverable. Now I see that the set is on sale for $377.99. Just want my money refunded and will gladly return all 3 pieces when they send a postage paid box. Used cheaper luggage on multiple international trips over the years./ Invested in a set we thought was a reputable company, but obviously not. Amazon is working on letting me go back in to my order, so I can warn other Amazon buyers in the reviews section.

Swiss gear Customer service and product quality sucks

The customer service is being provided by two agents at this company who never picks up the phone and if you get lucky and someone picks up after trying 100 times then agent hung up. This company's 10-year warranty is a joke and fake as they are running a scam company. They expect us to send seam label in a trackable mail after spending some money and then they may send a discount code as their response is scripted about wheels for a bag that was never used with any airline. I have even left a message with many staff members including CEO and no one cares to respond. It is a better to buy a cheap and possibly better-quality bags from Walmart at less than half price. As this company's online web portal sucks, customer service is absolutely terrible, disgusting and disgraceful. I had bought these bags from Costco and Costco should stop selling Swiss gear bags altogether and should not put their members through this company who is running a scam of 10-year warranty. Everyone should boycott Swiss gear products. Looks like Swiss gear is running this company from a garage as their support is completely unprofessional. Shame on Swiss gear management.

Late shipping times and no Christmas guaranteed

Ordered a backpack on December 10 so that we would have it in time for Christmas. On December 20 I checked the status and it still had not been shipped. Their website clearly says anything ordered by December 18 would be delivered in time for Christmas via the ground service. I contacted support through the chat function on their website and they basically told me that I could not be guaranteed delivery on any item placed on their website. Even though the website clearly had specific dates for guaranteed delivery. The person on the chat was of no help and basically said That I would just have to wait and they were working on orders, but they were behind because of Christmas. I informed him that’s why I ordered on December 10 for a simple backpack. He said shipping only takes two days from Florida to my location. He still could not tell me when it would actually ship in whether or not I would have it to give us a Christmas gift. I asked whether I should just cancel it and order something from someone else. He informed me I could not cancel it and I would have to wait till I got it and then request a return. Terrible customer service Would not order from them again

RUN from this company!

I ordered directly from Swissgear. They sent me the wrong items. I contacted them and returned them the same day after being told they'd ship the correct items as soon as I ship it back. They got the items and then never contacted me. I spent several days trying to contact them. Calling them is pointless as you'll hear a message that no one is there. It took 7 hours of waiting on chat before they finally responded. They promised to ship the following day. I'm STILL waiting for that to happen. Can't reach anyone, no items, no tracking number, no money. Company doesn't care.

Over-priced, under-whelmed

USB socket on miner's headlamp broke after a couple of uses. Not apparent how warranty can be upheld outside the US. In any case, the lowest of three light settings was far too bright for my purposes. Avoid.

Warranty Is a Joke — Waste of Money

I paid over $100 for a carry-on suitcase that was defective and partially fell apart the first trip. Upon filing a warranty claim, they approved the claim—only to change their minds and issue a 15% coupon after I had verified my purchase.

The wheels did not work properly from…

The wheels did not work properly from the beginning and got worse. My warranty was denied as they determined it was a result of airline handling. My other luggage that is a different brand is still great after 10 years and travelled along with the Swiss Gear. I will never buy again.

Poorly Constructed

Poorly constructed. I purchased a luggage roller for travel with high expectations of SwissGear. The luggage piece is flimsy and not sturdy. Falls over on the front of the bag. The handle litterally snapped off after just 1 trip. I contacted SwissGear for warranty and NOTHING. Crickets. No response to my warranty claim which was not user freindly, no response to my calls. Hello American Tourister.

Not meant for air travel

On the third flight with my new Swissgear 24" hard shell suitcase a wheel fell off. I actually saved the 10 year warrenty card inside the lining. After writing to customer service about this, I recieved an answer that basically said that the warranty doesn't cover damages that happen while in use travelling, and that they no longer have replacement parts.

Poor Backpack Quality and Customer Service…

I have been using Swissgear backpacks for my personal travel and business travel needs. It is so very disappointing that when I engaged their customer service about a zipper quality issue with one of their backpacks the response I got was “I never heard that happening before” and they provided no help or resolution. They stopped responding to me and ignored my emails when they said they would be in touch. Their zipper failed and my laptop backpack opened up and my laptop crashed to the floor and broke.
I will NEVER use a Swissgear product again and don’t recommend anyone do as well!

Very poor Warranty Customer Service

Customer service is almost non-existent and works at a glacial pace. I speak from my recent experience after my fairly less used cabin baggage’s handle got stuck and could not be retracted. I decided to invoke a warranty claim, with the understanding that Swiss Gear products come with a 10-year warranty. But it’s been close to 2 months and I have not received any response, let alone a replacement. The warranty claim needs to be filed via a web form and there is no email from any person. At this point, the 10-year warranty seems like a false selling point. Avoid this brand, if you’re looking for sturdy quality luggage and a brand that will stand by its (tall) warranty claims. Swiss Gear disappoints on both fronts. Never buying this brand again.

I've bought many swisstech products

I've bought many swisstech products, but that will never happen again.
They make it so difficult to get their junk warrantied. That way they don't have to pay for.
I had a flash light fail and the hoops they demanded I jump through to get it fixed is ridiculous. There's better companies that will warranty their products no questions asked. Like streamlight.
Swisstech is a joke. We were buying about 15 flashlights and head lamps plus battery packs per year for our clients.
Never again!!!

Bad experience with warranty claim

I've been an owner of SwissGear luggage for a while, and recently had an issue with the handle of a carry on malfunctioning. I went through a lengthy process of a warranty claim, months, and quite frankly, spoke with multiple people by email and phone. I followed all their direction, taking photos, copies of receipts, cutting out and sending in the luggage label. All to be sent a 10% coupon to be used on their site, even though I was told by email that they conditionally approved my warranty claim. Turns out, the 10 year warranty only applies luggage purchased from
their site or target. Be very careful about misleading advertising regarding their warranty and the hoops and hoops of work you have to do for a claim. I've never written a review about a warranty but this really irked me and I will never be purchasing any products from Swiss Gear as a company that doesn't stand by their products and what is advertised.
