This company is a scam!

This company is a scam!

My suitcase broke in under a year, so I tried to claim it under warranty. They approved it, but took months to process the return.

Then the coupon code they gave me didn't work, so I had to wait weeks for a response to support messages.

Then they sent the completely wrong item once I was finally able to use the coupon code.

Do not buy from them!

Swiss Gear luggage was gifted to me…

Swiss Gear luggage was gifted to me less than one year, used only twice and the telescopic handle no longer functions. Submitted warranty claim and was issued 15% on new product which is less than the postage it cost me to send labels from defective luggage as part of a tedious claim process.

Warranty claim

Warranty claim. Unacceptable. Deceptive and completely dishonest.
Luggage damaged traveling. Initiated claim. The claim process itself is onerous, and completely a test of will. One can see they bank on few completing it. First a lengthy electronic submission (including pictures, receipts, etc). Then wait for an 'approval'. I made it! They sent a lengthy explanation, that included and assurance I would receive and exact replacement (including shipping), or a credit for the full value! Awesome! All I had to Now do is cut the labels (same ones they wanted pictures of!), and tape them to a "claim form". Then send (they recommend 'trackable' mail), and wait for another "approval".
I received the highly anticipated "approval" in the form of a 50% off coupon of my claim. If following along, they already "approved" the claim - full value - etc. etc. There was no contact provided, other than a cold call email to SwissGear.com. Ridiculous.
I just received a return email from 'Calvin' - ostensibly "Customer Support". He tells me they do not provide warranty for airline travel damage. Really. They sure want you to think they do, and their own system "approved" it with my full full disclosure of the warranty claim circumstances. It's literally the first question they ask!
I cannot Stand poor customer service, and have No Respect for the Clown Car Management on down to 'Calvin'.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service. Swiss Gear lunch bag arrived crushed with defective zipper.
I filled out the return form and uploaded pics of the issues. No response after 10 days.
Sent email and got generic reply it’s under review by Swiss Gear staff.
Clearly the item is defective.
Not worth the aggravation Swiss Gear.

I bought two pieces

I bought two pieces, but the description was not accurate, and I returned them. the process of return was difficult, and I am not really satisfied. first, they wanted to charge almost half of price for return , which I called them about, and they fixed that (thanks, but I shouldn't call you for the industry standard service). then they didn't refund, no answer to my emails or calls and took 3months and finally thank to PayPal to listen to my claim (i called Credit card company and was not helpful at all). i dont recommend to buy from this site but if you want make sure use Paypal.

I've contacted the company about the…

I've contacted the company about the broken wheel. The suitcase itself is in good condition but the wheels are falling apart.
I just would like to get the wheel fixed, but the company isn't very responive. It came highly recommended but I wouldn't buy it again, since there's no customer support.

I contacted Swissgear about my warrantee and Calvin provide details on how to submit everything needed to get my backpack replaced or something similar. I sent everything in and now nothing. They won't respond to my emails and no one is ever available at their customer service number.

Poor Quality Product and Service

We bought one of their small suitcases 48 hours before our flight to Copenhagen and when we retrieved our luggage, one of the wheels was totally broken. Its first direct flight, imagine!!! We have been trying to get a replacement since last August and after numerous calls and e-mails to their Montreal customer office, we were told today that it was normal wear and tear (usure normal in French) which is totally unacceptable. So NEVER again SWISSGEAR, you can count on us for that!

Found a suitcase in a goodwill

I am recently homeless. And was carrying my belongings in plastic grocery bags until I found one of your suitcases at a local resale shop and I love it. The rolling case made transporting my possessions a breeze, however one of the wheels has stopped working and I cannot find a replacement. When my situation improves I will definitely look for more of your products. Thank you for making what is a horrible situation a little bit better

Spend your $$$ elsewhere

Lightly used carry on used once and interior seam frayed on outside pocket which was only used for pocketbook. One of the main reasons I purchased SG was warranty claims. FALSE ADVERTISING! Per claim warranty had to deal with Holiday Group as in Canada. Good luck trying to get any satisfaction, let alone anything other than an auto-generated email response advising they are behind with emails...1 1/2 mos since initial email. Wish I would have found this review site before I purchased

Poor Quality and Poor Customer Service

Quality has definitely gone down and so has customer service. They do NOT back their products! They are giving out 50% off coupons after they put you through the wringer. The handle on my luggage broke while traveling and we didn't mishandle it or was the luggage overpacked. We will not be buying this product again.

Customer Service Needs Work

I received a Swiss Gear luggage with a 10 year warranty as a gift a few years ago. This summer the handle broke even though my luggage wasn't heavy. Originally submitted the claim to Holiday Group in August 2023 & the issue still hasn't been resolved the issue (Oct 2023 now). Be prepared to call them often as the lines of communication fell between the cracks. You'll need some patience!

If you're looking for a quality product at a decent price with good customer service, Swiss Gear luggages aren't for you.

Horrible Construction

Luggage does not hold up in travel. Wheel broke in the middle of my travel. I contacted SWISSGEAR and getting a run around (not yet over) for only a 30% discount—no replacement or repair. Not recommended.

Buyer beware

The first time we used our new carry-on, the zipper broke. Phoned the warranty line and was given an email address to send all info to since then I have sent many emails with no response and they are no longer answering their phone lines. I am not sure if they are still in business, terrible customer service. Buyer beware

We bought 2 SwissGear medium size suitcases. After 2 uses one of the wheels disintegrated. Contacted customer support several times, gave them pictures, etc. They wouldn't cover the wheel replacement. Ended up buying a set off Amazon.

Will never buy any SwissGear products again

No customer service

I have tried on three occasions to contact the company to purchase a replacement suitcase wheel that was lost in transit on a recent trip.
To date I have not even had an acknowledgement.
I will not recommend purchasing anything from this company because if it goes wrong you have little chance of getting it fixed.

Waste of Money

The luggage is a 3 piece set hard sided and was rather expensive. I have only used 2 pieces for 2 trips and one of the retracable handles came apart while maneuvering through the airport on my return home. Still had screw and tried to reinstall once home but alluminum is not biting because hole is too big.

Problem is, I reached out to the manufacturer and they said they won't honor their 10-year warranty unless I provide them with the original receipt. (Purchased beginning of 2022) Otherwise, they will provide me with 15% off of a new purchase.

Who would purchase more from same company that does not honor their warranty, for items the break real easy! Do not buy from this manufacturer!

Very weak design. Poorly engineered.

I owned a softside expandable case. After two 'plane journeys the retractable handle wouldn't work. I unzipped the liner to find that the two aluminum tubes inside were both snapped in two. Obviously someone has stood on the case in transit. If I had known that the design was so flimsy and poorly engineered I would have given this case a wide berth. Never again! I didn't see the point in having this repaired as the damage would have re-occured so I binned the case and bought another case from a different manufacturer. Buyers beware!
