Superior Symphonic
Research initially led me to sign with a different distributor (that I will not name) only to find out after I paid that it could take them literally 2 months to reply to emails. That's when I discovered Symphonic, and despite the challenge of serving as many artists as they do-I have been impressed and happy with how they quickly respond-plus their range of services.

Much left to be desired
My release went well and on time, however, The customer support needs a lot of work! I undertand that most support is dedicated to the Partner plans, but a 2-3 day turnaround in support if frustrating. And, often times your question isnt answered clearly the first time and you are reluctant to ask for clarity, as it will be another 2 days, when your inquiry could have been answered in a one minute call. Other crucial platforms to the industry like the MLC, BMI, (PRO) and Soundexchange all have human support which helps artists' out tremendously!! Distros are essential to an artist career,so every bit of information counts, and everything can't be covered in a generic email. The webinars offered are always great, but Its time to advance the business model to better support.

My account and my release were deleted.
They deleted my account and my release without any way to prove that all the streams were genuine.
I sent a release by the artist Yang Barrel and added it to my playlists on Spotify and Soundcloud, which led to significant streams and listeners, but the distributor summarily closed my profile, deleted the release, didn't refund my subscription, and took all the royalties I'd earned!
This is a very unprofessional approach to artists. If you have the opportunity to promote your track honestly and without bots, they can simply delete it forever. It's very sad...

100% recommend symphinic!
Thank god for symphonic distribution! My previous distributor told me within 30 days that my agreement would end and my music would be taken down without any proper reason why just explaining that they dont think im a good fit for them which is not true.
However, as soon as i saw this i uploaded my music to symphonic so my streams and everything would move over before the other distributor could take my music down... within a matter of days symphonic got my music up, streams all synced and their support have been super quick and efficient! Completely different experience compared to my previous distributor AWAL.
I could recommend symphonic all day especially considering all the extras they offer that AWAL didn't!
I would 100% recommend symphonic especially with how competitive they are offering more extras than any other distributor!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
Worst Experience in a 20-Year Career - Appalling Service and Customer Support
My experience with Symphonic was, without a doubt, the worst I've had in a career spanning over 20 years in this type of service. The level of service and the (non) customer support provided are simply horrible.
The Core Issue: Ignored Refund Request
The problem stems from a lack of support and accountability following a simple, legitimate request:
Subscription and Immediate Cancellation: I subscribed to the Starter annual plan ($19.99). Crucially, I submitted a cancellation request immediately after subscribing and before any services were utilized, any content was distributed, or any monetization was activated.
Formal Refund Request Sent: I formally emailed the "Symphonic Legal Team" (on or around [Insert Date/Date Range Here]) requesting a refund for the $19.99 annual fee. My request was based on the service never being used, citing consumer protection principles for unused digital services.
Complete Lack of Response: Despite this formal communication, which clearly stated that the account was never used for distribution or monetization, I continue to receive absolutely no response or resolution regarding this request. The company has completely ignored my plea.
Conclusion: Unacceptable Disrespect
Paying for a service that was never utilized and then being completely ignored by the customer support team demonstrates a total lack of respect and consideration for its customers.
I do not recommend Symphonic to anyone. If the initial support and resolution for a simple $19.99 fee are this poor, I cannot trust them with any professional needs.

Best independent distributor in 2025
Genuinely one of the best distributors our label has ever used — from partner to paid plains, their support has always been 100% human and I've never had an upsetting interaction with their team. The masterclasses they upload on YouTube are very insightful, and their UI is super easy to work with. The only downsides are they enforce some DSP rules more than other distributors, like not allowing certain symbols in a track title, or rejecting cover art due to quality issues. Also, if you ever need to get releases or edits approved within 24 hours, their delivery is extremely fast, almost instant, however their approval takes around 5-7 business days, sometimes up to 10. I never had those issues with Distrokid, however their support and ease of use make up for it by a long shot. They're constantly improving the user experience, adding more DSPs, and implementing features and updates to their services. Overall, I'd give them a 9/10. By far the best distribution service our label has used so far.
