Lots of unfixed issues - beware if planning to use
Lots of unfixed issues, which can happen to anyone so beware when using. Firstly, the software doesn't have audit trail - which is a basic requirement for softwares even those that are being used in house. When raised to support they simply say it's being developed.
Our first issue was not being to roll forward the 2024 tax return to 2025. We were told that our tcs file was corrupted - so nothing could be done. So we redid all our 2025 returns in tax calc - all good then submitted to HMRC. Few months later trying to access the submitted returns and it is not in the software. An hour with support and they don't know what happened to it. HMRC won't allow downloads if you use a software so we have just lost a filed return and have to spend HOURS redoing and resubmitting it - AND it could happen again as the team have no idea why its happening.

Taxcalc had a problem with windows on my Pc.As a result I could not load it. I have been using Taxcalc for more than 10 years without any problems. Taxcalc needs to correct the issue with Windows. I can’t be the only one who had this problem. Please fix it before the 2025/26 deadline.

Not so good this time
I've been using taxcalc for a few years, but this year there was some error in the software that meant it crashed immediately upon opening. With the tax filing deadline approaching I appealed for assistance, having paid for the software but unable to use it. I eventually got the correct support (which involved me having to go deep into unknown recesses of my computer to rename taxcalc files) but this came after several messages that I sent via different means, reinstalling multiple times, and responses that were unhelpful and slow. It was a stressful experience.

The software glitched several times and…
The software glitched several times and lost data which had to be re entered and worse, lost saved data from previous years. Could not submit return. Had to use government website. Never had a problem in ten previous years.
