it's normally a decent enough place to order from. i have done many times over many years, but the website feels like it's a company run by barbara when she's not cleaning offices. keeps crashing, keeps going back to the first page of a search instead of going back to the page you were on (well fecking annoying if you have reached page 30!!). it has always just fallen short for a business. for an online shop, the website is quite annoying to use. there's no decent links for customer service. there's seldom any movement in prices for way old stock - not like a business to not want to sell stuff off!. when i do order it's always a decent experience. stuff arrives well packaged and secure. i feel postage shouldn't be applied over a certain price cap. but that's just how i would run it. you can't contact them easily if there's a query or something to highlight.

Just placed my 4th order Townsend Music Ltd. in the last four years. The quality of the music offerings are really top notch! Seems I'm on track for one a year previous all Simple Minds (Which we saw in concert with Soft Cell and Modern English this past June in the Atlanta area.). Just bought the Zombies - Odessey and Oracle (Mono Remastered) CD & (Mono Remastered) RSD Stores Orchid Vinyl I'm making out better price wise than buying from the big "A" (USA) which doesn't even offer the Orchid Vinyl. This is where to come for music in general and also to find the music from artists that might not be making a say special edition release in your country. Which is why I made my Simple Minds purchases here. The staff have in the past ALWAYS responded to an enquiry from me very quickly and within the next day allowing for the 6 hour time difference from Ga. Packages are well secured and have never had an issue when received. I know someone will question only 4 in as many years but it's a long swim to the UK and back so shipping can get up there so I'm very discriminant in my music I want from here and I think that's OK in the long run. So in other words I'll be back.

I bought an album the moment it was announced, but then ran into a minor stock delay issue. I contacted customer service (shoutout to Jake!) and they were fantastic. Not only did they explain the situation clearly, but they also listened to my concerns about the purchase being a gift and too my suggestion and offered me a complimentary upgrade to premium tracked shipping to shorten the eventual wait time. Proactive and helpful—highly recommend!

They sent me a basic product at the price of the "exclusive" one and, despite all the evidence of the error, they didn't even consider accepting the return and sending the correct one or making amends in any way.

Good selection which is why it gets the star. I preordered an item to be delivered on release made plans to home for the delivery and set aside some listening time. Five days later still no album. Customer services completely rude and gaslighting. Will never use again, this is why places like Amazon are winning.

I ordered Pete Doherty vinyls from the webstore which never arrived and despite folllowing their instructions there isn’t an option on the webstore to reorder…. I don’t know where my money is and I don’t have the vinyls…. Can someone please help???

I have ordered a few times from Townsend and would definitely recommend them.
Items are well packed and secured for delivery to me.

Preordered fish cds and blu rays, release date was 1st August, still waiting 2 weeks later, the whole point of pre order is getting them on day of release or within a day or two, not weeks.Emailed them and got a holding reply from Veronika (could be bot) telling me nothing. Can’t even complain to fish because he has retired and the websites gone apart from the shop, which operates through townsend’s website. I really don’t know what has happened to this company because I’ve used them over the last 5-6 years without a problem but this level of service is just not acceptable. I don’t accept they can’t give me a reliable eta for my order after two weeks. If you are thinking of buying stuff from them, see if you can get it elsewhere because at the moment giving them your money is akin to flushing it down the loo.
Day after I posted this, trustpilot messaged me that Townsend wanted more info, I duly provide the info but have heard nothing, as I write this I still have no idea if/when I will get my now 18 days late preorder. Surely someone at Townsend can answer a very straightforward and simple question from a very disillusioned customer, who previously gave them 5star reviews “When will my order be dispatched and delivered to me” it’s not rocket science, you don’t need a phd to answer it, just a bit of gumption and an idea of customer care
Update - 2nd September , now over 1 month since the release date of my pre order and still no sign of delivery , not even a proactive update from Townsend. Looks like I will have to contact trading standards and the ASA because the original advertising calling this a pre order is so misleading as to be an untruth and in breach of consumer law. Looks like I’m going to be dead and buried before this order arrives.

I ordered through the Gary Numan store, when I received my order one item was incorrect. Had emailed and phoned customer service explaining the issue, the issue was rectified and the correct item was dispatched and delivered within 24 hours. Excellent customer service and would thoroughly recommend to others. Their service was greatly appreciated.

Really great place to buy vinyl, prices are always the cheapest or near cheapest, and packaging is the best so never any damage. Only criticism is that the login for artist sites is confusing and I find myself with multiple password. That said, customer service is brilliant
