Good service with a “bonus scam”

The service works alright and it’s a good concept. Beware of the “bonus credit”; this seems a scam as it cannot be used for future purchases. The bonus credit is dead in the water. Also, the support (if you ever need it) is quite useless.

The bonus credit is offered to our customer so that it can be used for direct usage in all countries and it is valid for 1 year while data plans are more for a specific country/group of country and their validity is shorter.

That is why we did not want to limit the possibilities of the bonus credit just because it is free, rather give the chance to our customers to make the most of their bonus credit everywhere for a longer period.

Low quality product

I contacted customerservice with two questions and got only a copy/paste answer for one of them. Reaction time was surprisingly long.

Transferred money to a DataSIM expires after 3 months. Why? That seems like a unjustified and a bad policy!

Connectivity in Jamaica & Curacao was often bad. I.e. no connection!

Unfortunately it was not working in…

Unfortunately it was not working in Iran

A lot of times, when I needed internet through my DataSim of Transatel it was not working in Iran (where I stayed at that time). Also customer services could not help me.
The problem was that some times the DATASim was working, sometimes not. I had a datasim in an MIFI and a datasim in my IPAD.
For my work I need to be connected always.
I hope that Transatel can solve this problem with the provider in Iran.

The comment of Transatel is not thru:
In june this year I had the same problem and also my wifi in our house in Iran as not working. Because of my work I need wifi, sso I choose for MAHCELL (part of MAHCARD). This is a mobile internet router with unlimited data for only 15 euro each week. They use the same provider as Transatel, With MAHCELL I had fast internet, without aany problem. See my review of MAHCARD and MAHCELL - realy, a must when you go to Iran. I recommend ment this to you

Excellent solution

Excellent solution - worked well on Antigua, Grenada, Bequia, St Vincent, St Kitts & both sides of St Martin. Much faster, cheaper than relying on data from my home carrier (O2) which was patchy, slow & expensive. Would use again without hesitation... just take care to set up & send the confirmations at start from home country!

Good package with sim holder (if you need to swap the sim in your phone).
The registration could be better (so you could register before using the sim).

I'm very disappointed

I'm very disappointed , I order my Sim and should be receive in 1 day . Pay for €16 for transport . It arrived when I'm almost back from abroad. Take 1 week to rcvd the sim .
