Avoid this agency.

My experience with Travelfrom was extremely disappointing. I had booked a flight from Bangkok to Dusseldorf with booking number NCAF739G for July 19th, 2022, but the flight was unfortunately canceled within 48 hours of departure. I was then offered an alternative option of taking a train, but just a few hours later, I received another email stating that this option was no longer available as it was fully booked. I was assured that I would have no issues receiving a full refund, so I went ahead to look for other options, as I did not have the time to wait for alternatives.

However, I have been trying to get a refund for the past six months and Travelfrom has been providing me with excuses and not resolving the issue. Despite my multiple attempts to contact the company, I was given different excuses and no action was taken to refund my money. I found the customer service provided by Travelfrom to be unhelpful and uncooperative.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone. They have not fulfilled their obligations and have failed to provide a refund in a timely manner. I strongly advise anyone considering using Travelfrom to think twice and look for other options.

Additionally, I have also contacted Skyscanner, as they provide a platform for this company, and without them, they would have no customers at all. I have come to learn that Skyscanner does not take enough steps to ensure that their customers are treated well and that they allow companies like Travelfrom to treat their customers poorly without facing any repercussions.

Update as of February 15, 2023:

I am grateful to have received one part of my flight ticket. However, I am still awaiting a refund for the cancelled leg (from Frankfurt to Dusseldorf). The refund should have been processed by Travelfrom within the first month, since it was the airline that cancelled the flight. Unfortunately, I have yet to receive the refund from them, and their lack of action on this matter indicates that they are an unreliable agency.

Deceptive practices of travelfrom.nl

Dear Travelfrom.nl
I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the service I received from your company, Travelfrom.nl. On 11 januari2023, I purchased a flight ticket from your website . I paid the full amount of payment for the ticket, as confirmed by your company.

However, I was later informed that the price of the ticket had been increased and that I would have to pay an additional fee of . As I had already paid the original price, I refused to pay any more.

I am very disappointed that your company would engage in such deceptive practices and I believe that it is not only unethical but also illegal. Furthermore, the fact that 5 days have passed and yet my refund is not processed yet.

I would like to inform you that this situation will affect my weddings plans. I was not able to purchase another ticket because of the non-refund of my payment.

I strongly urge you to rectify this situation as soon as possible by providing me with a full refund of my payment and taking appropriate action to ensure that similar incidents do not occur in the future. I would like to remind you that I have all the documents regarding my ticket purchase and payment.

Company is a joke

When I booked my flight which had 3 stops, the flights and connections delays and cancellations were guaranteed.

Now the flight on my second connection has been cancelled.

They say they cannot rebook and I must contact the airline, I have had to get a hotel and pay for taxi to and from. The following flight I have missed as a result of this cancellation and my next flight they will not rebook. So I would be stranded in India without another flight. They have said they will try to get me a refund but no guarantees and also the customer service received is definitely the rudest and most unhelpful I have ever encountered. I've flown 27 times this year I deal with a lot of companies, I would not allow anyone I know to use this company.

On the 12th of October 2022 I made the ignorant mistake to book a cheap flight ticket from Amsterdam to Tokyo back and forth with Travelfrom.nl.

Everything went well, but suddenly on the 15th December 2022 and 20th of December 2022 all my flights going to and coming back from Tokyo got canceled.

The e-mail literally said that I could request a refund of canceled flights, being refunded the cost of the unused parts of the flight (aka, all of them) so 100% of the price I paid.

On the 3rd of January I called ITA Airways (which was the airline for all my flights) asking if I could change the dates of my flight tickets. Their customer service said the flights had already been cancelled and fully refunded, so it wasn't possible.

I got a refund email notice from Travelfrom.nl on the 4th of January that I would get partly refunded, with 22.99 euros missing. In this email it also said that they would refund me once they receive all the money from the the airline, which based on my previous call to ITA Airways, they already did.

I called on the 6th January asking why there was such a difference between the price I paid and the refund, and customer service said they would ask the "finance department" and get back to me, which never happened.

On the 10th of January I called again but the line was occupied.

On the 12th of January I called again asking when I would get the refund, but they said they cannot enclose that information. I asked who I could ask and customer service mentioned that no other departments receive incoming calls and they cannot provide me with an exact date. I said if they could at least tell me if it's going to take one month or six months, because I really need the money. But again, they answered me they cannot provide me with that information.

So, I asked why there was a difference of 22.99 euros between the price I paid and what I will get refunded, and they said that this was a non-refundable fee.

In conclusion, I will not be able to fly to Tokio, and if I get refunded, it won't be 100% of the price, despite stating they would do so on their own email.

Paying for a service that you don't get is extremely frustrating and unfair. I didn't choose for the ticket to be cancelled and it seems I canceled the order, making this whole mess, because I wanted to. Which is completely wrong.

I absolutely regret ignoring the negative reviews they had and giving them a chance.

My order is #WYORQYHD. This is your chance to make up for the poor service you have and all the time I had to waste.

Contact Skyscanner! Paid refund service is worthless.

After ordering our ticket (including extra refund GUARANTEE service) we had to cancel our flight due to valid family circumstances. After sending the required documentation our tickets are still not refunded. Callservice is polite, but doesn't have the right data in their database. Please fix this. Order #DUCLAADU. If this doesn't get fixed: Sorry, but we will contact Skyscanner so future clients will not get trapped like this.

Changing price at the last moment

I tried to buy a flight from Madrid to London, the price was 190 and magically, when I tried to pay, it changed to 260, I removed the cookies, and the magic happened again, it was 190!!, but the same thing happened. I didn’t buy the tickets and I won’t trust them anymore, it was cheaper with the airline.

I prefer to buy from the airline, I've never had surprises. With these crappy pages always something happens and you have to pay. They are so desperate to get your money, even if they have to lie about it.

Waiting for a refund of 2,900+ EUR since November 17, 2022 with no reply from the company

I really didn't want to do this especially during the New Year's, but the company is not giving me any other choice. I've been waiting patiently since November 17, 2022 for a refund of 2,9236.82 EUR but still have not received it as of January 3, 2023. I booked two November flight tickets to Canada and from the US in mid August through travelfrom.nl. The tickets were issued immediately, or so I thought.

For my first flight to Canada, I found out that my flight was delayed by the airline when I was trying to check-in online a day before departure. I had to contact travelfrom.nl myself and they issued an alternative ticket for me. Had I not tried to check-in online, I would have gone to the airport and totally wasted my time and money.

To be fair, this delay was not caused by travelfrom.nl, but as a travel agency, they should have let me know about the delay and they should have issued an alternative ticket before I found out myself that the flight was canceled a day before departure. But when I did contact the company, my issue was resolved fairly quickly, so this incident alone would warrant a 4-star review in my book. But my 1-star review is not about this incident, but for my return flight.

On my return flight from the US, I found out at the airport counter 3 HOURS BEFORE MY FLIGHT that MY FLIGHT BACK HOME WAS NEVER BOOKED BY TRAVELFROM.NL AND THAT I DIDN'T HAVE A TICKET BACK HOME. I had checked out of my hotel at this point, so I had nowhere to go, and I was about to get stranded at the airport.

I called the airline immediately, and they sent me an email telling me that they are looking into it, to which I reminded them that the flight leaves in 3 hours and I have no where to go. I waited for 2 hours while constantly emailing and calling them and they didn't find me a resolution until an hour before the flight was taking off, until Orest, the representative, verbally told my wife (who was calling on my behalf from NL since all the international calls I had to make from the US were getting expensive) over the phone that I can purchase the last remaining ticket directly from the counter and that they would refund me the amount, which was 2,9236.82 EUR.

I did just that and barely made it to through security and got to the gate when they were doing their final boarding call. Once I got home, I emailed the company with all required information to process the refund, but as of January 3, 2023, I still have not received anything.

I have reached out multiple times to the company to inquire about the status of my refund, and I only get generic replies saying that 'they are looking into it' or that 'it has been transferred to the correct department' with no substantial update into what is actually happening with my refund of almost 3,000 EUR, if I do get any reply at all.

I have tried to be patient, but I have been waiting patiently for close to 2 months now, and the company is leaving me no choice but to leave this review. I sent three more follow-up emails on December 19, December 22, and January 2, and I haven't received any response from the company since December 18.

If I still don't get any response, I will start preparing to take legal action.

Again, I'm happy to update my review once I confirm that the refund amount has been debited to my account.

But until then, I recommend everyone to stay away from this company.

I have been traveling outside of the Netherlands since early December, so I have not been able to receive anything by post. However, there are three additional points I'd like to raise:

1) I received a request via email to share the necessary information for the refund on Dec 18 from Bella, and I supplied all requested information on Dec 19 by email. I can't imagine there being anything else that would be required to process my refund, but if there is, please reach out via email.
2) Assuming that my banking information that I provided via email on Dec 19 was insufficient, why hasn't the company responded to any of my 3 follow-up emails since then?
3) How did the company even send me a letter in the first place when I don't remember sharing my mailing address with the company?

Edit on Jan 5, 2023: I received a partial refund of 2,225.62 EUR in my account today. Thank you very much. But it seems that my original purchase price of 590 EUR was incorrectly deducted, so I submitted another refund request for the original 590 EUR to offset the accounting mistake.

SCAM Avoid at all COST

SCAM! avoid at all costs
I reserved 4 tickets with them. 48 hours before the flight they told me my flights were cancelled which was a blatant lie as i confirmed with the airline directly. I am yet to get alterative tickets or a refund. Their service desk is rude and unhelpful

Disappointed

I booked a flight today for NYC for 400 Euros and later on, an email was sent saying that the flying tickets changed and the rate increase so 130.43 Euros more to pay when they already took the money. So we called and they gave us the option to pay or cancel the tickets, and for what I've seen they reply "We were unable to identify as a buyer... Please provide us with your booking" DON'T EVEN BOTHER TO BOOK WITH THEM. Continuez votre chemin!!

Refund for canceled tickets

Booked and payed 3 tickets on sunday morning. In the evening a message it was canceled. Asked when we can expect our money back, because we need it to make other arrangements for the holdiday. At first they said within 1 to 3 workingdays. Called again today, now it is 5 tot 10 working days. Wondering if we ever see our money back, and it is a lot of money. Also the holiday is ruined, because without a refund no money to make other arrangements. Another call from us this evening, now it is at least 10 working days... So Travelfrom: what can you do? Thanks to Skyscanner we received the refund

Horrendous customer service

Horrendous customer service. Involuntary flight cancellation from the airline yet Travelfrom have dragged their heels at every opportunity to assist with a refund. Absolutely frustrating experience at every level from booking to having issues addressed.

Friday 24th of June, late evening my phone rings.. it’s my mother from Greece, crying and shouting that my father needs to be admitted to rushed surgery next day and she begs me to be there. I run home with my husband to book the tickets; next available flight Saturday 25th with Transavia HV-6867 to Athens and then A3-116 to Thessaloniki was the soonest flight available and with return flight total cost almost reached 900 euro. I look at my husband.. it’s too much money but there is no other option really.. It’s a matter of life or death.
We are flying in a few hours, we are being forwarded our boarding passes from TravelFrom.nl, we pack our bags, I am in agony and can’t stop crying.. I can’t wait for the time to be with my family and at 3 o clock we booked a taxi and arrived to the airport. There is mayhem in the airport, the longest queues ever but we are there early. I look at the board announcements to find the gate only to realise that our flight had been cancelled. We approach the lady at the Transavia counter to ask what is happening and she replies to us that this flight had been cancelled more than 24 hours ago and wonders not only how we managed to pay for a cancelled flight but also how did we manage to check in.. She clearly states that since we booked via TravelFrom.nl this is who we need to contact and so we do then and there. We immediately call the customer service number and ask them to be refunded for this and how unacceptable that was. The lady over the phone assures us that it will be taken care of. It’s 4am already and we take another taxi to go back to our home to book yet another flight which was 24 hours later, Sunday at 7am.
We are exhausted, haven’t slept already for one day and the agony increases as time goes by. I am still here in Amsterdam, my family over in Greece, dealing with difficult times. The surgery ended around the evening and it was successful.. I am happy again for a while and I now I really can’t wait to be with them.
As the night goes by and we are once again in a taxi to go at the airport again, at 3am I get another phone call, this time from my uncle who thankfully did make it on time and travelled to my parent’s place (unlike us), asking me where were we. I told him we just arrived at the airport and we were ready to go check in.. I could hear people crying at the back, I remember his voice trembling so I asked what had happened. He replied to me ‘I am sorry to tell you, your father didn’t make it, there were complications’.. I started shouting at him, saying this can’t be possible. My father was a fighter, there is no way this could have happened. Only it did and that was the worst moment of my life. I didn’t manage to be there on time, I never got to say goodbye; the most important flight of my life was cancelled…
How could TravelFrom.nl check us into a flight and issue boarding passes for a cancelled flight a few hours prior to the flight? Why was the flight even available in Skyscanner, which was where we initially saw the flight before we were redirected to TravelFrom.nl? And on top of that why overcharge for a flight that don’t exist already?
From that point on, with any courage me and my husband had left to pursue such types of pending matters, we have multiply contacted them to request an update for the given flight refund. Every single time we get the same response 5 MONTHS now; they inform us that they have contacted the airline (Transavia) but they still haven’t issued a refund.
I have also contacted Transavia myself for this matter and they have informed me that no agent contacted them for that matter and no refund request have been made for the flight that we booked on our behalf.
For 5 MONTHS now I have to keep contacting TravelFrom.nl repetitively; from emails, to phone calls to you name it and we still haven’t been refunded. We have dealt with other refunds in the past and it wouldn’t take more than a calendar month. For 5 MONTHS now we have be reminded repetitively not only that my father has passed away but also the fact that I didn’t get to see him at least one last time until he died. Again and again. And since the matter hasn’t been resolved yet and the refund hasn’t been issued, the reminder is still there only to cause more pain at the end.
This is my last attempt to resolve the issue without legal support and also I wanted to make sure everyone knows what I have been through when booking with TravelFrom.nl - its the worst experience I had at the worst moment of my life.

After i posted the comment above, I received partial refund for the flights only from Amsterdam to Athens and NOT for the flights Athens to Thessaloniki. I keep contacting them about the issue still although it has been 8 months now and I am wondering how much longer do i have to wait to resolve! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, JUST COMPLETE THE PAYMENT NOW PLEASE

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. My booking was cancelled after booking, because they didn't receive confirmation from the airline company. Meanwhile the refund would take 7 days(in 21st century!!!), I'm just hoping to get my money back. On other sites like Kilroy, they will check reservation possibility before asking you to pay, which makes much more sense.

Slow refund when you cancel your ticket

I booked a flight with Travelfrom and then cancelled it within 24 hours of making the booking. I still don't have my money back, with Travelfrom stating that "Only after the airline confirms the refund request will the refund amount be transferred to your bank account."

I have called the airline and it has confirmed that the tickets are voided and that a reimbursement was issued.

After having read the other reviews, it appears that this is the excuse that is often used by this company to refuse issuing a reimbursement of funds. I agree with another reviewer here, there should be some action taken to have this service removed from skyscanner and similar webpages. Consumer: Avoid at all costs.

Edit 1:
I am adding information that I received from the airline in case it may help Travelfrom in my case.
When I cancelled my trip with the airline almost a month ago, it said that a confirmation email was sent to the following email:
1634478499 @ qq.com
When I called customer support of the airline, I was told that a refund was issued to a VISA card ending in 3893.
The total amount of my ticket that I paid to Travelfrom is 814 Euro.

Edit2: I received the funds from travel from, which was a full refund minus the 30 or so euro for processing fees. This was around 4 weeks after I purchased and cancelled my flight. I am super happy that my case was resolved. I will say that I contacted skyscanner about my case, but I dont know how much it helped with my refund... although the estimated timeline of 4 months that I was initially provided by travelfrom seemed to get a lot shorter. Thank you travelfrom for processing my refund.
