TuneIn has the worst interface I've encountered in 17 years. All icons are curated by Tunein with NO ability to remove icons or configure like an iPad or any smartphone. Drag and drop? Forget it, Custom screens? Not here.
Content selected is woefully inadequate. Poor selection of podcasts, user hostile interface, incredibly complex and busy. Has CNN and MSNBC simulcasts, but not FOX news or business, only the radio version.
I would never pay for this service, unfortunately on a Tesla, this is what you get. Worst part about the car is TuneIn.
The entertainment display on my Accord, via Android Auto is far superior.

New app is a country and western/pop advertising platform. I don't want to listen to Garth Brooks, Nation Rocks, or Bandit Classics, ballads or anything else just the stations I choose.
Yet it puts these first, then in my recently played (I never did) and my favorites, (No they are not).
Basically its crap, go to a different player
TuneIn used to be my “go to” radio app
TuneIn used to be my “go to” radio app. No more. The latest version bug-ridden mess, just junk pure and simple. I pay for premium and I still get ads! It doesn’t play with Alexa. Lately, it’s barely audible on start up. I am looking for alternative. Any suggestions?

TuneIn makes it impossible to cancel a renewing subscription. Application links don't work in Chrome or Firefox. Go to deadend pages or to messages like "You are subscribed to TuneIn Premium. Contact support for more information about your subscription." with no option to cancel. Support tells you to do the same thing when responding by email. Totally ticked off with the freaking waste trying to cancel.
7.12 minutes of ads-why?
I sat through 7.12 minutes of ads.. I get it ads pay bills but 7 minutes before the first song was played. Ridiculous. TuneIn was my go to for gym/workout music but not if it is going to 7 minutes of ads then 3 songs, one of which was cut in on by, you guessed it. AN AD!!! I have deleted the app. And no I don’t want premium.
I am using the free version
I am using the free version. I was debating upgrading but the price, given what the app does, is prohibitive. My other issue is that the free version ads are a bit ridiculous. The ads click on sometimes during an active play when I am listening to a baseball game. And today, the same ad kept repeating. It played 15-17 times in a row during one break and then 8 times 5 minutes later. Very annoying.
Faking help by doing opposite
I had for more than 5 years a station which I listened mostly. In the begin of 2023 it struggled with breaking down many times. I reported it to TuneIn. They didn’t find any mistake. After 3 weeks of painfully reports suddenly it worked again. 2 weeks. Than this station was not available in my country any more. That’s the way TuneIn helps customers. They kill the problem by taking it out of reach. Disappointed
This apps commercials have gotten so…
This apps commercials have gotten so intrusive and ill-timed that it's virtually impossible to hear a whole song. Time to find another streaming app. I don't mind commercials, but they are at least 8 times an hour, especially with the NBA playoffs.
Interrupting a stream to play ads.
Nothing like listening to a radio station on TuneIn, hearing a great song then BAM! they interrupt the song for an ad. The commercials when you start up the app are bad enough, but having ads INTERRUPT the stream is the final straw.
I've deleted the app from my Android. Shame...TuneIn USED to be a good app.
Trojan Horse - tunein
So unfortunate that tunein appears to be harvesting stations from my sonos (and I suspect my personal music) but, I could be wrong. The stations I added to my sonos list yesterday are unavailable today. I want to subscribe just to hear my stations again but, based on the reviews, do not trust tunein with my cc# and, as things go, the cost of listening to radio stations will likely increase. How is tunein allowed to harvest and charge for station access (and there are multitudes) that were once free? When stations were free, what was lacking that made a tunein necessary? What are the incentives for radio stations to join or do they have a choice? Have spent days but can't find reasonable answers online. Does anyone know the non-legalize answers? (I suspect there is/was a loophole somewhere.) The number of stations that I listen to have become smaller and smaller and smaller. I shudder to think that tunein will ensnare all stations at some point - it appears to be headed that way. I suspect tunein's "free" stations is a joke amounting to a horrible trojan horse. I deeply appreciated and cherished my chosen music each and every day for 10 years. For the most part, my chosen music has vanished with few choices available. While I have not signed into tunein (trust issue), I've learned that the constant ads are a strong indication that stations are under the umbrella of tunein. Now I worry if sonos will become obsolete or eaten by the trojan horse at some point in the future. (NOTE - when a company does not offer a way to communicate with them, and if you are able, do not do business with them.) Clearly there is something I am missing so, if you have any answers or can assist, please let me know. As a senior on a fixed income adding a cost for a streaming service is financially challenging. I sorely miss my radio stations but, most importantly, the ability to CHOOSE radio stations.
ignorant journalism
why would i ever listen to a site that mispronounces the musician Dizzy Gilespie’s name???? hearing this ignorant mistake over and over again on the tunein ads is nauseating. where’s the ad editor? ugh
Ads ads ads
Ads ads ads. Worst music app out there. Just buy a radio and thank me later. Tune in is not worth it.
Ads ads ads
I have use TuneIn for years but since awhile back TuneIn has adding alot of ads when streaming. This is bad and i will remove all use of this service. I know many of us users thinks the same. Bye Bye TuneIn! (Lucky there is many other streamingservice who can fill the place of TuneIn)
Horrible Leech company profiting off just…
Horrible company profiting off just being an unnecessary middleman and annoying people who just want to listen to their favourite radio stations by overlaying their own advertisements!
I used to have a bedroom clock with Alex which would play Classic FM for me when asked. Now I have a Google clock it uses ‘Tune In’ and whenever I play Classic FM I don’t just receive the usual commercial breaks, I also get adverts from TuneIn overlayed.
This TuneIn company should be banned off of the market and their relationship with Google products should end immediately.
What a horribly vacuous and leech like good for nothing excuse for a company.
Thanks for ruining my bedtime listening of relaxing classics TuneIn.
I tried the "free" Tunein trial offer
I tried the "free" Tunein trial offer. And I keep getting charged even after I disputed the charge with the credit card company. I can't find anywhere on line where I can contact and tell them I only wanted the ONE trial. I can't stop them! Don't even try to use this or you'll get charged with no apparent way to quit!
Deleted the app
Deleted the app! Will never use it again. It once ran 17 commercials in a row! I listened to a football game and instead of reporting the game live, it repeated the same part of the game over and over! The commercials come every 3 minutes! Very disappointing and I will never recommend it to anyone!
Alexa …
Alexa is now using TuneIn as the default radio player so if you listen to a commercial station you have to listen to TuneIn ads as well as the stations.truly awful
What the heck happened to Tunein?
We used to use tune in all the time and loved it. Now it is flaky. It stops and starts randomly and now includes commercials so not only do you have to listen to the stations commercials but in the middle of songs tunein interupts and starts playing their commercials. That is very annoying! One set of commercials is enough. Time to pull out the old radio and listen to local stations on that.
It used to be great….
It used to be great. But unless you pay for a subscription - they interrupt the show you are listening to with commercials, but they don’t pause the podcast and so you miss sections of whatever you were listening to. Very frustrating.
just junk
just junk. Constant commercials. I understand the need for commercials but one entity has 5 commercials per break sometimes running the exact same commercial 4 times in a row. (WGU) I have tried the pay for service but you still get commercials. Commercials on more stations to listen to in tune in. And in some cases regular commercials you pay not to hear.
