Never Again

I booked a car through Car Jet for pickup at Faro Airport. After several calls, I was picked up 15 minutes later and taken by shuttle to the Turisprime Rental Office, where I waited 30 minutes for a car that was in good condition.
When I returned, the Turisprime office was locked and unattended at the scheduled time. Repeated calls to the posted number went unanswered, so after waiting 30 minutes, I had to take a taxi to the airport as my flight was imminent. Car Jet refused to reimburse my taxi fare and their representative was unhelpful. I will not be using Turisprime or Car Jet in the future.

Avoid - Appalling Experience

Appalling Experience – Jet2 Should Be Ashamed to Partner With Turisprime Faro

Our experience with Turisprime Faro was nothing short of disgraceful, and I am shocked that a reputable company like Jet2 continues to use this provider. From start to finish, their service was unprofessional, disorganised, and frankly dangerous.

Upon arrival at Faro Airport, we were told we’d be collected by their shuttle. Nobody turned up. After 50 minutes of confusion and trying to locate them, I called their office—only to be told they’d send someone in “about 20 minutes.” That turned into nearly 40 more minutes of waiting in the heat before we were finally collected and taken to their office.

When it came to collecting the car, we were told it was in “perfect condition.” Nobody came out to walk us around or confirm the state of the vehicle. Thankfully, I took my own photos and videos—because the car was covered in dents and scratches. Their dismissive attitude at this stage was the first red flag.

On returning the car, we were told to be there for 9 a.m. as that was the opening time. We arrived on time, only to find the office completely closed. After another 30 minutes of waiting, the same woman who had caused all the earlier issues came flying into the car park at speed, driving so recklessly that she actually ran over our luggage. The most unbelievable part? She didn’t even acknowledge it, let alone apologise.

To make matters worse, she then refused to take us to the airport, despite us having pre-booked and paid for their shuttle service. She simply said, “You drive yourself, drop it with another company,” and when questioned, continued to say “do what you want.” Her attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely unfit for someone in any customer-facing role.

We followed her instructions and returned the car to Avis at Faro Airport, who were fantastic—polite, helpful, and professional. They checked the vehicle, confirmed everything was in order, and told us the deposit would be refunded. True to their word, it was.

But it didn’t end there.

Once I was back in the UK, Turisprime fraudulently attempted to charge my card again for toll fees—despite me never leaving the Algarve and being told all fees were settled. I emailed them immediately, threatening legal action and a fraud report to my bank. Within 24 hours, the charge was reversed—but not once did they respond to or acknowledge my email.

Turisprime Faro is an appalling company. Their staff—particularly the woman in question—lack any understanding of customer service, decency, or accountability. Their poor reviews across Google and Trustpilot are absolutely justified and should be taken seriously.

Jet2 need to reconsider their partnership with this company immediately. While Turisprime may be a cheaper option, the risk, stress, and outright danger they pose are not worth it. Customers deserve better.

Avoid at all costs.

Don't deal with them

Hello, everyone. I want to share my bad experience with Turisprime in Faro, Portugal.

I rented a car a couple of months in advance—a Mercedes A-Class. However, when I arrived, I was given a Hyundai Ioniq instead. I didn’t want to argue and didn’t want to ruin my holiday, so I didn’t say anything.

I paid the fuel deposit and the toll deposit. After we returned the car, I received the fuel deposit back in a couple of days, but the problem is that I didn’t get the toll deposit back, even after a month. I tried emailing them but got no response.

I then contacted the company that recommended Turisprime (I’ll be writing about them as well), and only after that did Turisprime reply with a copy of my toll expenses—without telling me how long it would take to get my money back.

If you ever go to Portugal or any location where this company operates, please avoid them. Save your money and time!

Turisprime charged 450 € for nothing

TurisPrime wrongly charged €450 to my credit card in November 2022. Justification: Towing costs and cleaning. However, these services were not provided during my rental period. Turisprime was not willing to clear up the mix-up or the fraud. A lawyer will now try to get the money back.

I highly suggest turning to one of their competitors and saving your valuable time and mone

I had an extremely disappointing experience with the car rental company Turisprime. The limited opening hours posed a real challenge for me, and I simply could not reach them by phone. When I tried to seek assistance from their customer service, I was left with nothing but frustration. I felt as if my needs as a customer were completely ignored.

As if that wasn't enough, the shuttle service was not functioning, which resulted in me having to walk to the rental station. Upon arrival, I was shocked at the state of the work and service quality. The entire environment was chaotic and disorganized, which evoked a sense of unease and anger within me.

To make matters worse, I was also charged unjustified additional fees, which left me feeling cheated and taken advantage of. Once again, the customer service appeared disinterested in hearing my complaints or concerns.

My emails were ignored, and I felt that my opinion or feedback was not valued. The customer service representatives were unfriendly and incompetent, only further exacerbating my frustration.

I cannot recommend this company under any circumstances. There are numerous other car rental providers nearby that offer better service and more reliable vehicles. If you are in search of a dependable car rental company, I highly suggest turning to one of their competitors and saving your valuable time and money.

Overall, my experience with this car rental company was highly disappointing, and I hope that my feedback will contribute to their improvement in service and customer satisfaction.

Turisprime didn't accept my Nubank credit card

I did a reservation on discovercars to pick-up a car from this company, but I was not able to get the car because they didn´t accept my Nubank physical credit card (just because it is a digital bank!!) and tried to "sell" me another "option" where I would need to pay more than 300 euros, the original price was 22 euros for the same period!! I had to give up, lose the reservation fee and get a Bolt to go back home. My friend told me the he always rent cars using his Nubank credit card without any problem. It was a horrible first and last experience with that company!

Really really bad experience

Really really bad experience hiring a car from Turisprime. The opening times of TurisPrime were different to what we had agreed with Holiday Autos, the company we paid for the car rental. Turisprime opened at 9am on Saturday 9th July and our flight was at 10:05am. When i pointed this out at the office on pick up of the car they man i spoke to just shrugged his shoulders and said the airport was close. He did not offer any alternative to drop off the car other that being at the office at 9am. No key drop offered before the office opened. He just shrugged his shoulders and said the office wouldn't open till 9am.
We were also not picked up from the airport as agreed. There was no mini bus to pick us up at the car hire pick up point. We called the Turisprime office many times but no one picked up our call. After waiting for 30 mins we did see the Turisprime bus. But the driver refused to pull over and pick us up. He drove off. He knew we were waiting and never returned to come and collect us. We had to walk to the Turisprime office. It was a short walk from the airport but we were told we would be picked up by a bus. We waited for 40 mins for the bus before we started to walk. Not a good service.
When i was picking up the car the man i spoke to tried to over sell me insurance. He tried to sell me other insurance with a lower excess amount. We did not require extra insurance as we had taken an extra option with holiday autos to cover the cost of the excess. It seemed like he was threatening us "if your car gets vandalised, it'll be 1500 euro excess! If you even get a tiny scratch it'll be 1500 euro excess!"
I left the office feeling very anxious about the car hire for the week. Likewise when the man at the office asked me if i knew about the toll roads around Porto and when i said i didn't he audibly sighed. As if he couldn't be bothered explaining the toll roads to me. Very rude. The late drop off time of 9am on our departure date just an hour before our flight, and the 'threat' of the company taking money from my credit card for a tiny scratch left me feeling anxious about the car hire and drop off all week. Not the way i wanted to start our holiday in Portugal.
