I bought Plum trees and Grape vines, which were two separate orders. Two of Two plum trees are dead. One of two grape vines are dead. I made two separate "Plantsurance" Claims, one claim for the two plum trees and another claim for the grape vine. When I made the plum tree claim, they gave me credit for one tree, for $29.75. I replied back to let them know, the claim was for two plum trees. When I sent my pictures for the grape vine claim, they responded with "If each tree was 59.50 and you received 50% discount what you paid was provided in the credit. I'm not sure where the discrepancy is?". The person was talking about the plum tree claim in the grape vine claim but also, each tree was $29.75, after a discount, and both trees are totaled at $59.50. One grape vine is $22.72. So, they were certainly talking about the plum tree claim. Also, the "Plantsurance" is advertised as "Hassle Free". Clicking on the 1yr Plantsurance Policy, said "... you will receive a store credit for the value of the plants that did not survive transplanting...". Even if I bought the plants with a discount, I am not getting the "Value" of the plant in store credit. They give you the credit of what you paid for. This process has been a hassle, they are unwilling to work with the customer, and it appears their "Plantsurance" policy is a scam, to a degree. I just want my plants replaced, which would cost $34.75 for one plum tree. I paid full price for the grape vines, because the page reloaded and the coupon did not process. I tried to immediately cancel the order, through their "My Account" section, and clicked "Change quantities / cancel orders". I could not cancel the order, because it was already "shipped". This happened moments after making the order, which makes the "Change quantities / cancel orders" link, a fake or unusable link to change your order. Do not do business with Ty Ty Nursery, you can get some of these plants from Tractor Supply for cheaper and without paying shipping.

I ordered almost $400 worth of cherry trees. They told me it could not be shipped til 2027. I asked for my refund. Theresa the person who works there came back and said we can give you a store credit or ship early in 2027. After I told her to please refund me she came back and said we can ship in 2027. Again I asked for a refund. The emails have gone back and forth for 3-4 times still no refund. I had dealt h with this company years ago and i should have remembered how bad it was then when I ordered.
Now I need to get with my bank to report fraud. Do not ever order from this horrible company. They will steal your money!

Scammers—arrived damaged and horrible customer service.
Absolute scammers. I ordered three trees, and two of them arrived semi-dead. I have reached out multiple times via email to request a refund or credit for the two damaged trees (a loss of $120), but they have ignored me.
Only one tree out of the three was acceptable. Their lack of communication is unprofessional, and they clearly do not stand behind their products. Save your money and shop elsewhere. They owe me $120 and have lost a customer.
Update – response to the Tyty reaction here:
I have provided photos on 5-1-2026. I have also sent 4 more emails between May and July 2026. With the exception of the very initial email sent by the company from 4-28-2026 and signed by Theresa, I received no response.

This company is a disaster! They are a complete scam! They offer a deceptive one year guarantee on their plants. I found out they issueda store credit ( not including shipping charges). DO NOT order from this company! They should be shut down and closed by the better business bureau!

Order English Walnut, Heartnut, and Butternuts 8 years ago. I have waited patiently for the nuts to start forming and dropping. Went out to check trees this evening. All the nuts are the same. Every single tree are black walnuts. Most of the trees survived to adulthood so that is a plus. However over $1000 wasted on trees species I did not want and that are considered invasive in my area. DO NOT BUY WALNUT TREES FROM THIS COMPANY.
Update: Contacted with 24 hours by new owners. They were very respectful and responsive. I will add that the chestnut and pecan varieties that were also ordered at the same time are thriving and producing (chestnuts at least).
Increased stars from 1 to 3 based on customer service. I still stand by my buyer beware of the walnut trees. It will take several years again to find out if these trees are correct varieties or not.

They delete negative reviews. And they have a lot of them. They consistently send dead or dying bare root stock at the end of season so you can't get a refund, just store credit (that you can't apply until the following year). They misrepresent quality compared to what is shipped. Across the board, disappointing.

I gave 2 stars since a few of the trees I bought are doing well. There were a couple that died and they would not replace them, instead gave me store credit. That means I still had to pay money to ship new ones. The ones they shipped were dead and they will not replace those since they were purchased using the store credit. So now I'm out 50-60$ with nothing to show. They were not rude to me but I still will not buy from them again cause I know if there is an issue, fixing it is not in their best interest.

I had a very disappointing experience with Ty Ty Nursery. I ordered a Chinese Snowball plant, and it arrived completely dry and appeared dead. When I contacted customer service, I was told to wait a couple of months before they would consider replacing it, just in case it was still alive.
After waiting as instructed, I performed the scratch test again, took new photos, and sent them in. They finally agreed the plant was dead, but instead of issuing a refund, they only gave me store credit.
When I tried to use the credit to reorder the same plant in July, I discovered it wouldn’t be available until December. That makes no sense because I live in an area where the ground is frozen and covered with snow in December, so I can’t even plant it then. I asked if they could simply refund my money instead, but they refused.
After months of waiting, I still don’t have the plant I paid for, and I’m left with store credit I can’t use for what I originally wanted. The entire process was frustrating, and the customer service was not helpful or accommodating. I would not recommend this company based on my experience.

Ordered five raspberry canes that came very lifeless looking. Planted them and hoped they would come out of dormancy, but they never did. Filed a claim with them which they granted, but they only will warranty the plant and not any of the fertilizer or transplant kits that they sell with it. In addition, if they give any discount on the entire order, they will take that discount and apply it solely to the plants and only refund what is most beneficial to them. When trying to talk to customer service, it is clear that they are only looking to refund the minimum amount possible in store credit. Based on customer service alone, I would not recommend doing business with them.

I purchased a 5 to 6 foot fig tree. Wanted to arrive the box was severely damaged and the tip of the big tree or if you could call it that it had no limbs. It was only a single stick looked dead. I contacted the customer service team I supplied photos. Well that would work for me was the cost of the tree not the tax nor the nearly $40 in shipping they charge me for a dead tree that was damaged as well. They won that refund the money. They will only give a credit so I will have to spend another $45-$50 if I want to try to replace it why would I want another tree from them? It’s not even a tree. It comes as a 5 foot stick. That is no more than a quarter inch round. It’s a joke.
After contacting the BBB and filing a complaint they refunded the entire amount. Why can’t companies do the right thing to begin with…

Before ordering, buyers should closely consider this company’s quality control and return policy. Over a three-year period, I purchased three trees. The first died within a week, the second was healthy, and the third arrived dead on arrival.
While a single dead plant might be an anomaly, a majority failure rate indicates a systemic issue. More importantly, their policy dictates that if a product arrives dead, the customer must absorb the cost of shipping and accept store credit rather than a refund. This policy effectively forces the consumer to pay for the company’s quality control errors. Proceed with caution.

By far the best bare root plants I've ever purchased. Well packed, fast shipping, and healthy plants. I've bought from TyTy for over 10 years and keep coming back!

ordered 12 trees. 10 died within two weeks. Sent proof (photos, scratch tests).
Credit was issued for price of tree. Taxes and shipping are not refunded (credited).
I bought them when on-sale, now must re-purchase at higher price or "wait until we have a sale"
They refuse to send replacement of identical trees, which makes most sense. Now I have to pay higher price, pay more than double taxes (more taxes since price is higher) and shipping.
Why not just send replacement of identical lost items?

Great shipping time order came quickly faster that expected however there is a problem with the trees they look dead I planted them in grow bag as soon I got per the instructions but no green showing as of yet. I am afraid they are dead

The tree that I bought wasn’t in the best condition when it arrived. The rootball didn’t have any soil. We planted it immediately hoping it would survive but it’s been almost a month now and it looks like it’s dead. All the leaves and branches have fallen off and we don’t see any new growth at all.

Really bad customer service.
Low quality plants less than 50% survival rate after receiving and replanting.
They don't send replacements they only give store credit and you have to pay the shipment again.
I purchased 4 fruit trees in june and half died.
This is a scam in my opinion.

Great selection, very healthy plants. I received my order carefully packed and was ready to plant them immediately. Unfortunately some of them did not make it but most are doing great! Very happy with my purchase.

Very disappointed in our entire experience. My daughter who lives in Nashville wanted a fig tree for her birthday. We did extensive research as to which tree would do best in her growing zone. We visited several local nurseries looking for a Chicago Hardy fig and found none. We then explored online and ended up choosing Ty Ty. She wanted the 4-5foot tree and that is what we bought. It arrived with the top broken off (approx. 6 inches). I contacted the nursery and we followed the direction of pruning the tree. When the growth started it was at 30 inches. We were told my account would be refunded accordingly. I had asked for a new tree hoping it would be better. At this point we are frustrated with the whole experience. She wanted a tree, not a bush.
