It's a con

Stupidly booked this company before reading the reviews first - Basically a really, really poor service.
Booked online for a specific day - company accepted my booking and then advised they couldn't fulfil the service and didn't know when they would be able to.
They then asked me to cancel the booking myself online (incurring a £25 cancellation charge) and when I refused agreed to do it their end. Surprise, surprise, they took the payment anyway.
Currently disputing the charge with the help of my bank.

Do not use....!

Thieves!!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!!!! They have taken three times they amount that was owed out of my account amounting over £300 for 2 hours work. They are taking no responsibility for this but blaming there own drivers even tho they employ them!! Do not give bank details. I have reported them to my bank and police !!!

Avoid at all costs, don't even want to give 1 star

Terrible company, DO NOT USE. I was overcharged even though both vans were extremely late and I was messed around both days I used them. Drivers weren't even told about my booking. Wrong size van sent. Awful customer service, didn't care for my complaint and didn't want to do anything to help.

Next time I move I would rather carry my belongings than use their service.

Borderline criminal, actually stole my money and lied to me

Liars, thieves and all around terrible experience with a terrible company. This company has actually stolen my money, wasted my time and been incredibly rude to me.

I'll be opening a case with trading standards but before I go into my experience let me just tell you first and foremost to never use this despicable service.

Two important things to note for those attempting to get in touch with them and making a complaint:

They hide these details on their site for reasons that will become obvious pretty soon I hope.

First and foremost for those of you furious and wanting to actually speak to a member of their staff use the phone number 01778 48304, the number listed on their site is a fake one which takes you to an automated service. Having said that after calling the actual number the member of staff there allegedly transferred me to a fictional customer service department and hung up on me! Just shocking and unbelievable

I originally booked for a Sunday service but received no confirmation from the company. Their "system" does not work. I had to go online and use their live chat for which they gave me a drivers number and we postponed our meeting for the following Tues. I had to take time off work for this. On the day said driver told me he had a dentist appointment and asked if I could do 5 PM instead, again, put out. I said yes.

I never heard from him. Van Plus allegedly sent another driver during this time who tried "calling me". This was a simple lie. I received no calls and an email from a no-reply email address. Again, if you wish to email this terrible company their actual email address is support (at) van-plus.com not one listed on their site.

Van Plus then charged me for a job and alleged I never turned up or reached out to the "new driver" they had booked for me. In the meantime the other driver just vanished, and I never heard from him.

They took my money. They don't reply to complaints as they use a non-reply email address when you have a complaint and they have refused to give a refund. Their website is a lie and full of fake reviews

You can look on TripAdvisor and find fake reviews from the so called founders of VanPlus:

The service is a lie, scam and con and I'll be reporting them to trading standards for actual theft backed up by photographic evidence.

Moving is stressful, do not make it worse by using a company like this. I have never been treated this poorly by a company in my life and I can't tell you to avoid them more!

RUBBISH!!!

First they took a non refundable deposit. Then we agreed a 2PM pickup time. Then they changed it to 11AM. At 12 noon we phoned the driver and he told us he will be here at 13:00. At 12:15, the driver cancelled. AVOID THESE PEOPLE LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Wrong size vehicle

I was massively screwed over by Van.plus because they sent the wrong size vehicle to me.

I needed a Luton tail lift truck or equivalent (something with a tail lift) because I was moving homes and had some very large items to move. It was easy enough to book by website or even by telephone, which is the route I took. The worse part is, the agent over the telephone asked me what items I was moving and I listed the big ones that I needed to move. He, himself recommended the Luton tail lift truck for my home move.

The next day what turned up was a minivan - not even big enough to put 2 full sized sofa's in let alone the rest of the content in my home. The driver was at no fault because he received the job from his HQ. I tried in vain to contact someone at Van.plus but each time you call their telephone number the automated machine responds with "if your call is urgent, leave a voicemail and someone will get back to you within 24 hours..."

I tried to use the "chat now" feature on their website which doesn't work on mobile devices. Their website is pretty flaky and not all features work. So after massively screwing me over with my house move all they can do is give me a refund of the time I spent keeping the minivan.

Absolutely terrible company. Avoid at all cost. Not worth the hassle. Don't be tricked by the filtered reviews you see on their homepage. Do try to find a local man with a van if you can.

DONT TRUST THIS COMPANY! I REGRET BOOKING!!

I booked with this company and regret this decision very much. It was not explained from the outset that the cancellation charge is the same as the cost of the booking - THIS SHOULD BE MADE CLEAR TO CUSTOMERS

Also, they were USELESS with trying to amend my booking. After reading all the negative reviews here i decided to cancel and because of all the errors i could not even do this !

Anyhow this company is clearly problematic and i am getting in touch with trading standards to investigate their practice as it is unacceptable.

Awful.

Although the driver himself was polite and helpful the service from van.plus was terrible. I received a blank receipt and then later discovered I had been charged for double the time that the job had taken, their website barely works and it took a long time to resolve.

The red flag should have been the huge numbers of basic spelling mistakes and confusing layout on their website, along with being spam called by them. Do not use.

TERRIBLE SERVICE - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

We booked two jobs in May 2016.

We are a mobile bar company and despite stressing how important timing was for us over the phone with the booking office - the guy in the morning showed up over an hour and a half late. The guy in the evening didn't show up at all.

Both drivers said they had been double booked. We weren't advised in advance and couldn't get in touch with customer services.

Completely unacceptable. I would advise anyone considering using Vanplus to re-consider immediately.

Make Your Property Move Even More Stressful - Use Van Plus

I feel foolish for even being compelled to write this. Wish I’d checked out the online reviews before I considered employing these sharks.

I originally booked on Monday, for a Friday 5:00pm small van pick up. The alarm bells should have been ringing when I got the email through, and they didn’t even have my door number on the confirmation.

Friday morning arrived and not even a courtesy call. I contacted their office at 3pm to ask if my delivery slot was confirmed. A very dismissive woman gave me the number of the driver. I called him and he sounded like he was still in bed, but assured me he’d be at my pick address on time.

5:00pm arrives and I get a call from a different driver who explains that he had just finished a job on the other side of London, and with the Friday night traffic, he wouldn’t be at my address until 7:00pm. I cancelled there and then.

I did manage to contact a cab company, who just so happened to have a driver working with a large 8 seater estate car, but I was very lucky, as it was Friday night rush hour.

Still yet to see if Van Plus debit my account this Monday - I expect they will try. Do not touch this company; they are clearly a scam, and shouldn’t be in business.

VAN PLUS**best scammers in the van industry

IM MAN AND VAN HIRE COMPANY WORKING PROVIDING GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE WHEN VAN PLUS GOT THROUGH TO ME BY MY WORK ADVERTS ASKING IF I CAN WORK WITH THEM..THEY SOUND NICE AT FIRST AND I HAD FEW JOBS COMPLETED FOR VAN PLUS.

Very persistent

Their website ("Get an instant quote now") won't let you see the quote unless you enter your contact details. If you don't book then and there, expect multiple phone calls trying to get you to come back - one of them was a month after the date I had wanted a quote for.
Pricing-wise, they are not as cheap as they claim - especially for short moves their prices are very high.

Refused to accept their mistake

I used van plus for removals - getting them to collect my stuff and put it into storage was a breeze...getting it back proved more problematic. I booked delivery for a Thursday but my completion date got moved to the Friday so I contacted van plus to rearrange. I asked for delivery on the Saturday and Amy amended the booking accordingly for a 1-2pm delivery window. I received a call from the driver on the day who seemed confused as to what he was collecting as the storage facility was closed. A furious phone call to van plus revealed that it's not open on the weekends and the earliest they could deliver would be Monday.
So I had to spend two days in an empty house, apologise to my helpers for their wasted journeys and take an extra day off work on the Monday.
My stuff was delivered in the afternoon but only after several calls from the storage facility asking if I knew the container numbers (I didn't) and where it was going.
I then discovered after checking my bank account that they had charged for 3 and a half hours of overtime without any notification. Somewhat surprised I called van plus to complain that after their mistake I should be compensated for the cost of the overtime at least but they "have no record" of my angry calls on Saturday so can only offer me a £20 voucher off my next booking. Not great considering there won't be a next booking.

Slow, overcharged for house move

- Our men and van turned up separately, and did not get to work straight away. At first, they were very slow, chatting and laughing outside of our house instead of moving our furniture. It was only when we starting bringing furniture and boxes out ourselves that they started to work properly. This was after approximately half an hour.

- They damaged the light in the hallway of our new house with an item of furniture they were moving and now the light does not work. It worked prior to the move.

- They put furniture upstairs which we asked to be put downstairs. When I asked why they had done this, their response was "well it is upstairs now".

- After they left, they sat in their van outside my property for approximately half an hour.

- I have not received an invoice or reference number for this order, however I have been informed by my bank that that van plus have charged me £235. That's the price of 3 hours work, when I should have been charged for 2 hours.

I used them twice, second was bad

The first time I used Van Plus it was alright, and for a good price: £50.

I used them last month, and it was £119 (twice the price for a very similar service).

To make matters worse, Van Plus charged me an additional £40 for no reason, and aren't refunding it or telling me why for weeks already.

I'm going to contact my bank to charge back this fraudulent charge that I did not authorize.
