Dangerous, Unempathetic Psychopathy

A complete corrupt joke of a corporation. Should be bought to justice. MyCloud is a joke, compromised several times resulting in huge issues to people. All we get is an apology and offer to upgrade, spend more money on something equally as rubbish. They do not learn from mistakes, unempathetic psychopaths… The very definition of an American Psycho - not the shower killers from Hitchcock

Do NOT recommend any of their products

Do NOT recommend any of their products. They have provided the worst customer service for not only me, but thousands of customers who are without access to their files during this “outage”

Do NOT buy any of their systems.

Terrible. AVOID AVOID AVOID

I have used WD myhome cloud for a few months now. Its not what I was quite after but I made do. I needed to be able to drag and drop files or retrieve them with any device either at home or away. However WD systems have been down for the last two days and this has left me with zero access. Apparently they encrypt the information on your hard drive. This was never explained to me.

I know what you thinking, just connect an ethernet cable to it and hey presto! You'd be wrong! As the information on YOUR hard drive has been encrypted by WD you simply can not get to YOUR data on YOUR hard drive. This is absolute madness and if the sales guy had told me this I would not have purchased. Contacting their "lack of customer service team" was a waste of time as they don't want to do anything for you. Their response was "well the last outage we had was 2 years ago so that should be ok" it bloody isn't ok! You buy a device you expect to be able to use it when you want to not when WD are working as they should.

Going to re-think my entire WD product purchases and see if its worth swapping to something that is not too complicated for what I want.

Absolute FAILURE

Our business can't access backed up records because WD locked everyone out with no email or statement. You have to search the issue yourself to discover they had a data breach and have disconnected ALL cloud devices with no solution for businesses who rely on them.

RMA im Nirvana verschollen

High-End USB-Stick von SanDisk für 200€ gekauft. Nach einem halben Jahr defekt. RMA bei SanDisk beantragt. Zwischenzeitlich von Western Digital übernommen. Die RMA dauert gefühlt ewig. Auf der Support-Seite: "We are under system maintenance.
Western Digital has experienced a security incident and access to all support portals is currently disabled. Please check again later.
All RMA Related Functions Are Currently Unavailable.
If I already have an RMA, does this mean that my replacement drive has been delayed?
Yes, it’s possible your replacement shipment may be delayed due to the system maintenance depending on when it was entered in to the system."

Toll so geht das jetzt seit 2 Monaten.

Ein absoluter Witz. Nie wieder SanDisk oder WD!

Western Digital abject failures.

I have used the Western Digital My Cloud Home for years and it is my backup device of choice for my two Macs and a Windows PC. Suddenly I can no longer access any files or any backups. In effect I have lost years of vital data both personal and more importantly for the consulting business I operate. How can Western Digital get away with this. Is anyone proposing legal action against them?

Do not buy their products

Do not buy their products. I have a MYCLOUD device which suddenly developed a "303" error, from all of my laptops so it is obviously a problem with the device. When I key in to their chat, it fails to acknowledge the serial number; when I ask to speak to an agent it tells me that I am outside of the hours of speaking to an agent (despite being inside of those hours) and when I go to lodge a ticket, I get a message saying WD is having serious problems. You bet you are....

The worst customer service imaginable

Western Digital has the worst customer service of any tech company I've done business with. Their chat service is virtually useless as agents will say anything just to make you go away. They will repeatedly tell you to wait 24-48 hours for an email update that never arrives. Months go by without a replacement drive. One time they even sent me an email with a fake order number. Their lack of genuine support for their products borders on fraud. My drive failed in January and it's April. Still no drive. I will never buy another Western Digital product again.

Faulty products and hilarious customer support

Faulty hard drive just gave in after 4 months of sitting in a box. Completely bricked for no reason. I lost so much data. I didn't have enough space on my laptop to make backups and their product came with 1 year warranty.
They have refused to cover the cost of the data recovery which was predicted to set me back £100-£600 so double to 12x the price of the hard drive. Oh but wait, they offered me 20% off my next purchase as if I would buy anything from them again after this terrible experience.
Thankfully it was only worthless personal things like photos etc...
I genuinely have only hatred towards this company for their utter contempt for me as a customer they have caused me such an issue. Do not trust them.

I have owned a few WD external hard…

I have owned a few WD external hard drives and they are all garbage. They stop support for them a few years after they are released so you either have to figure out workarounds or are forced to buy their new product only to have to go through the whole process again in another 2 years. Mine is called "Wireless Pro" but I have never been able to use it wirelessly. In order for me to access my files on it I have to plug it directly into my computer... which is not why I purchased it.

What a waste of money and time

What a waste of money and time. Western digital external hard drive fails, interferes with windows file explorers, and tech support KNOWS and ask if I had the drive plugged in. It didn't get any smarter after that. I'm so done with this outfit. I've had three WD drive failure in the last five years and NO other drive failures in over twenty years. I'm not new, I'd already tried powering off and on, checking the unit's own power supply, trying the drive with another computer, trying the drive with difference connecting cables, trying a different HD with the same data cables (it, SEAGATE, works FINE!)

Something seems to be going on with the WD external HD software and WD is doing squat about it.

I'd have given zero stars if that was an option.

a string of excuses for keeping my stick for over 3 months

i returned a sandisk 256gb c-type otg stick in december its now amost 4 months later and theyve only just sent me an email saying my replacement is shipped (no tracking as of yet so we’ll see) the part i cant get over is after they ‘varified’ my stick (which was done within a week of them reciving it) i had no info from them at all, no one contacted me to say what was going on so i called them. was given excuse after excuse: we’ve just moved our warehouse so its going to take some time, we migrated our database (which stopped me from checking on my RMA without registering an account and the system for registering a new account doesnt work still now) and the latest one is global shortage of some components. i spoke to one of their ppl near the begining and he assured me he was on the case and he would chase it up and i heard absolutely nothing from him after the 2nd time we spoke on the phone, throughout all of this they have told me nothing i have had to chase them every step of the way and thats is not acceptable. needless to say i will be avoiding western digital products like the plague from now on (i had no idea they had taken over sandisk but since they have its gone bad!)

WD - 10% OFF SIGN UP CON!

WD - What a con..you offered 10% off my order if I signed up to your WD membership and instead of £253 for 4TB SSD, I applied your 10% off code and the cost then rose to £300. Online offer of 10% off said nothing about any specific restriction before appling the 10% code.?

Warranty is a lie

My brand new Sandisk SSD failed and, aside from losing everything that was on it, I now have to deal with this trash company. I sent the faulty SSD to them in the beginning of December 2022. It’s almost the end of March 2023 and I still have nothing. They say they are ‘escalating my case’ over and over again, but nothing changes. Buy from somewhere else! They are horrible.

Very poor ordering system and customer support

I recently ordered a hard drive for my nas. After 6 days of the order not being dispatched I decided to contact customer support. I did one web chat, one email and one phone call over the space of 5 days, customer support promised to dispatch the drive urgently but nothing happened. 12 days after my first order I cancelled the hard drive and ended up buying from else where.

Overall a shocking customer service and ordering system and one I do not wish to use again or recommend.

The whole rollout of WD home/small…

The whole rollout of WD home/small business servers/software most be the biggest con in this sector. Every piece of hardware and software is obsolete within a couple of years (at best). So So many issues with ill thought out software, beggers believe!! That's 3 server in the bin over the last 6 years - time for a re-think!! If you are a small business looking for Hard server storage, do your home work before plunging into the WD hell hole.

Hard to contact WD service

Hard to contact WD service. Tried to contact by phone - long wait no response. Then tried chat - long wait then got terminated. Trying to clone old drive to new drive. WD not providing software for using Passport drives for backing up computer hence using Acronis For Western Digital as WD recommends. Vendor of new computer recommends against cloning - might clone virus or corrupted program - so I need answer from WD. NO SUPPORT from WD.

Western Digital sucks

Western Digital does NOT care about so called Customer service. DO NOT buy anything from them! Bought an expensive SanDisk item and after PROVING to them I no longer had the broken item, they still REFUSED to send a new one. Weeks and weeks of emails and letters and did all the things they asked and still they are Requiring me to send in the old one which was securely disposed of by a tech person who I trust. I even was asked to send in a bill from them which I did. Weeks on the phone mean nothing, broken promises, money gone. its a shame there isnt such a thing as TRUST in companies and yes its under warranty! They changed my incident number mid stream just to make it more complicated for me i guess. NEVER buying a thing from them again!
