Here at WGU, we believe that talent is universal—even if opportunity isn't. Higher education is the best way to bridge that gap, but traditional higher ed wasn't built for the realities facing many of today's students. So we created a university focused on expanding access to education around the country. We've innovated with students in mind, giving them the flexibility and freedom they need to succeed in today's workplace.

that school is worst for making deaf students to failed on exams. forces I and deaf students to drop out this school. Because their proctors are heavy foreign employees have serious problem with deaf students. Proctors keep block exams for "special needs." I and Deaf students are not special needs. just hearing loss, that all. Western Governors University made me drop out... twice!

WGU was a great way to earn my MBA! I loved being able to go at my own speed and prove my competence without having just to spend time with my butt in a seat. It's a great way to earn your degree if you can be self-motivated and don't need your hand held throughout your learning process. The only negative I have to say is that the proctoring process on tests is absolutely ridiculous!

Having a mentor you were in contact with helped. I found the professors easy to communicate with, and they were always able to help me with an assignment.

I completed my Bachelor of Science in Business Management at WGU in just one year, and it was an amazing experience. The competency-based model let me move at my own pace, which made balancing school, work, and life much easier. The mentors and faculty were supportive every step of the way, and the affordability made earning my degree possible without a huge financial burden. I’m proud to be a WGU graduate and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a flexible and career-focused degree program.

An alum warned me that at this school, you're just paying for a piece of paper and if you want to actually learn something, attend a different school. He was right. When you ask a question to the instructors or ask them to teach you something, if they don't know the answer, they tell you to Google it. All they know is the script from the online lessons, they have no critical thinking or problem solving skills. Overall, the programs don't prepare you for the real world. I would only recommend this school to someone who already knows everything in the subject area, doesn't need to learn anything new, but just needs that piece of paper showing they have a degree.

I truly enjoyed the WGU Boston Commencement at TD Garden. The event was exceptionally well organized, with staff and volunteers ready to assist, answer questions, and ensure graduates were fully prepared for their moment. It was a memorable occasion worthy of any graduate, and I would highly recommend attending to anyone who has the opportunity.

WGU was exceptionally supportive and accommodating. Every aspect of their services and resources was noteworthy. Balancing a full-time job and a myriad of obligations, the support I received, starting with my assigned mentor and continuing with my professors, transformed my academic pursuits into an attainable reality.

As a non-traditional student, WGU made going back to school accessible. I had great support from my instructors and program mentor.

It was an unforgettable experience. I wish I had known about WGU before completing my bachelor's degree at another university. The professors were excellent, especially my mentor, Jeff Stevens. He never let me give up and always encouraged me to continue my master's degree. The experience was unique and perfect.

I've completed remote, online degrees from 3 different universities. The traditional campuses are still trying to make virtual learning a shadow of classroom learning. WGU takes the asynchronous learning model and amplifies its strengths, creating a proram that meets the unique needs of adult learners with busy schedules. WGU doesn't waste my time, but helps me demonstrate my exisiting knowledge and expertise in the most efficient way. The faculty are kind, supportive, and accessible. WGU is my first choice for anyone balancing school and work.

They will change degree requirements which will leave you retaking some courses even if they are less then a year which you have previously passed. They don’t bridge some of the courses so you will end up retaking it again and paying for it again.

What made my experience great? Having the ability to gain a recognized degree without having to waste years of life. I was able to access the material and learn at my own pace, while having a community (Facebook, Reddit, Discord) to help guide me and support me. Being assigned a personal mentor to reach out to when I am feeling down so they can offer guidance for my next move. The only negative towards WGU is the live proctoring that takes place as there could be issues during that process that is hectic.

I almost did a virtual graduation and I'm so glad I didn't. The best decision ever was going to this school, and going to an in-person graduation. 10/10 will do again and was so memorable!

WGU is exactly what the current US higher ed system needs. WGU provides access to quality education independent of physical location and the ability to dedicate years abd considerable financial resources into education; it extends opportunity. I wanted to gain a US credential upon immigrating from Europe and changing industries. Holding 3 previous degrees gives me grounds, I believe, to speak to WGU’s academic rigor. WGU offers rigorous, quality education. WGU’s study materials are comprehensive, informative, and very enriching if one properly delves into them. WGU teaches timely, practical, in-demand skills, which I found incredibly useful in my work even before finishing my degree. Also importantly, the possibility to accelerate one’s studies was crucial in my decision to go to WGU and a considerable advantage, still very unique in higher ed.
