Alton Store

Alton Store - Staff are absolutely useless. Have no idea about customer service and have no idea about products they are selling. I would never go to wicks again. Il stick to an independent local store.

Dreadful in store customer service at…

Dreadful in store customer service at Farnborough store. Staff get an attack of deafness when you ask for help. They made no effort whatsoever and I had to insist that they listened. The requested help was sullenly given. Poor management obviously, if staff feel so disinterested in their work and more interested in chatting each other up.

Delivery problem

Delivery problem. My partner ordered and paid for a internal door for home delivery
Ordered on the 27th for delivery on 28th. No door arrived. Still no door on 29th. Phone customer service who said the local store would phone us, 3 hours later still no return call, store not answering the phone. Even tried to see if we could pick up from local store but still no answer on the phone.
Back to customer services who told us door will be delivered on 31st. Totally held up our works and wasted days sitting in waiting for the door

Your on line products are great and top quality but lack the stock in store and available at all locations. its nice to go to store and see products for DIY jobs as sending stuff back after placing online orders can be hard.

Order 544780497

Order 544780497 I ordered a flymo lawnmower from Wicks. Delivery was slightly longer than Amazon but decided I needed to support other companies.
On the day the flymo was due to be delivered I received an email, which I didn't see until 3 hours after it was sent cancelling the order. No explanation. No apology. WILL NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN

ONLY AT YOUR OWN RISK PURCHASE FOREST GARDEN FEATHER EDGED -209392 FROM WICKS

I purchased 11 Forest Garden Dip Treated Featheredge Fence Panels - 6 X 6ft costing me £440- Item code 209392 from WICKS -RUSLIP Branch, these being one of the MOST EXPENSIVE FOREST GARDEN FENCE PANELS WICKS SOLD.
Within 6 to 9 months of installation, just about every slat on all the fence panels had warped, some slats had split and some slats were flaking around the wood knots, and currently, these fence panels are an EYESORE.
Communication with Images of the fence panels were sent to the Customer Care Department-WICKS, initially as a final answer, not wanting to enter into further communication with me, I was informed by Customer Care-Wicks that FOREST GARDEN WHO ARE THE MANUFACTURERS/SUPPLIERS OF THESE FENCE PANELS DO NOT COVER THE MENTIONED FAULTS AS THIS WAS A NATURAL OCCURENCE IN THE WOOD.
Not willing to accept this given LAME reason, my next course of action was to CONTACT The Trading Standards-Wembley and lodged my complaint over the phone- I was advised by the attending advisor that as a consumer I was covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and the action I needed to take immediately, and then was given a reference number of the complaint lodged, and immediately armed with the advice given, wrote to WICKS Customer Care Department requesting them to revert within 7 days with their decision on my claim- they did, and offered to reimburse me with the purchase price of the fence panels, which they eventually did termed as failed items, but not before making an effort to try and void my claim on technical grounds looking to fault on the type of treatment applied on the respective fence panels in the event had treated these after installation.
By purchasing the mentioned FOREST GARDEN FENCE PANELS, I was out of pocket on the initial labour installation charges I incurred, and will be out of pocket on the estimated labour cost of removing the warped fence panels and re-installing new fence panels (NOT FROM WICKS) which my builder agreed to do at virtually his labour cost.
ALL READING THIS POST WHO HAVE HAD SIMILAR EXPERIENCE WITH THEIR FOREST GARDEN FENCE PANELS NUMBER 209392 PURCHASED FROM WICKS, AND THEIR CLAIM FOR WARPING DECLINED, IF THEY SO DESIRE SHOULD BE IN A POSITION TO TAKE THE NECESSARY ACTION REQUIRED.
FOR THOSE THAT ARE CONSIDERING TO PURCHASE FOREST GARDEN FENCE PANELS NUMBER 209392, READ MY REVIEW TITLE.

THE END RESULT, MANAGED TO GET THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE FENCE PANELS REIMBURSED, BUT HAVE LOST OUT ON THE INITIAL INSTALLATION LABOUR COSTS, AND WILL IN THE NEAR FUTURE INCUR INSTALLATION LABOUR COSTS TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE FENCE PANELS WHICH ARE AN EYESORE.

Poor quality fence panels and terrible customer service

Bought three feather edge fence panels last October and erected them after treating them.
They were OK during the winter but when the dry weather came they warped and distorted very badly.
Contacted Wicked customer service who did not want to know. All they said is that it was wood and that will happen.
I went to B&Q and got some wood to put in some extra batten support and to close the large gaps between the boards. Sent before and after pictures to Wicks and got the same answer ! Its wood what do you expect!
Poor customer service.
The panels are poor quality and expensive for what you get.
I am just glad I did not order the 6 panels I also need for the other side of the garden!

After just over a month the battery…

After just over a month the battery packed up, I went back to Wicks for a replacement and was told that I had to sort it out with Einhell.
This was because it was out of their 30 days replacement policy, this was a lie as the consumer rights act states that, as a retailer they have to sort it out with the manufacturer not the customer. It looks like I've got to now go to trading standards or a small claims court.
Anybody thinking to buy from wick should think very carefully before making a purchase.

Woeful Wicks

Woeful Wicks, placed an order for timber on the 18/05/20 for delivery 30/05/20 on Friday the 29th I got a phone call from Wicks Watford to say that some of the items were out of stock however some nails an 2 bits of wood were delivered on the 29th the driver told me that as he was loading the van someone picked up my wood and it was sold to them by mistake, I was told that part of the order would be delivered from the Cricklewood store on 30th no items turned up on the 30th and after an hour trying to call either branch I gave up because I was wasting my time, I emailed the customer services team who did not get back to me until 03/06/20 to say they were instructing the store to make a delivery within the next 48 hours, I just received a voice mail message from someone at the Cricklewood store to say they did not have the size of wood I had ordered and asked whether I would accept a smaller alternative tried to call them back but as before no one would answer the call and just kept getting cut off. Wicks obviously do not have a proper stock control process it allows you to place and order take you payment and then does not deliver the goods.
If you take my advice and if you want any wood delivered from Wicks during this lockdown don’t bother unless you want a very stressful experience.
This is possibly the worst company it has ever been my misfortune to deal with I have been trying to call the Cricklewood branch now for 3 days and they just do not answer, or you get cut off.

Absolute disgrace

Absolute disgrace
Order number 438367986.
Ordered before lockdown in mid March
Ordered fence panels, self level, sledgehammer and post creat
Wicks failed to deliver self level and sledgehammer, offered no contact no idea when or if these items were to be delivered so I cancelled them and found replacements at screwfix same day click and collect, wicks managed to deliver the post create costing £4.75.
Called up on fence delivery day to discover some little girl in “customer service” cancelled the only item I really wanted from wicks the fencing, no explanation or details.
Requested refund and as of 30 April still awaiting refund for £244.
Have been told that wicks are refusing refunds during covid 19 and they had no intention of delivering the sledgehammer or the self levelling compound.
Spoke to “customer service” waste of time they just ignore you and so do the other contact centres, they lie and refuse to issue refunds or delivery your items.
DONOT TRUST WICKS
My two experiences of wicks are about the same, stay clear of these corrupt.

Two chaps in a van delivering cement

Two chaps in a van. They didn't have time to wait or do anything. They just dumped the four bags of cement on the wet floor in the rain, saying they were not allowed in the property, and left. Then said that I had signed for them, which I didn't! They are a disgrace, and are pulling Wicks good name down into the dirt!!!!!
