Excellent experience from start to finish, highly recommended.
Fantastic holiday, a really special way to experince the beauty of Scotland. Staff were helpful and friendly when I was choosing and booking the trip and the guide was excellent, really knowledgeable.
Wilderness Scotland shines again!
Wilderness Scotland did a very good job with the logistics of the Shetland and Orkney Islands. Inclement weather required the adjustment of some of the excursions, and the guide did an excellent job of trying to accommodate all abilities within the group. We would highly recommend Wilderness Scotland, especially for remote or difficult to access locations and challenging hikes.

It was wonderful all the way around. Great scenery, great historic sites, great walks, great company, great food. Can't complain about any of it.
Amazing Photography workshop
I recently participated in a 1-week photography workshop based on Muck Island off the coast of Scotland. It was my first time to Scotland, and it was fantastic! The teacher was Colin prior, who is very renowned photographer and an awesome teacher. The tour was excellent: the pre-planning communication, the lodging facilities and food, the boat transportation to the various islands that we photographed, and the overall beauty of the islands…it was all first rate! So glad I went and I hope to return someday for another photography workshop with Wilderness Scotland!
Outer Hebrides ebiking
Great guides Simon and James, they really looked after us and nothing was too much trouble, fantastic food, great picnics and e-bike tour in the Outer Hebrides. Well worth the experience!
Wilderness Scotland - flexibility, quality and safety
Wilderness Scotland pay attention to the detail and make sure that all the arrangements work smoothly. With an outdoor activity like kayaking safety is paramount and I always felt the guide understood my capability and kept the group safe

Outer Hebrides & Skye Tour
I booked the trip to the Outer Hebrides and Skye, and it was the best travel decision I've ever made! Our guide, Martin, was absolutely incredible and kind, and went above and beyond for all of us to ensure we had a wonderful time. We were told about local history while seeing and hiking through gorgeous landscapes, had amazing meals and lovely accommodations, and even got to engage in a Ceilidh, visit a local Harris Tweed weaver, the Harris Gin Distillery tour/experience, visit wee cafes and art shops, and more. Scotland is such a beautiful place, and Wilderness Scotland took care of everything we needed so we could enjoy it with a knowledgeable guide, transportation, meals, etc. Definitely worth it, and I would love to take another trip with them.
Good at every turn
Communications, billing, and the trip experience itself were all excellent. I highly recommend Wilderness Scotland for a wonderful Scotland adventure.
Scottish National Parks was an incredible bicycle tour!
Never thought we'd get to see Scotland from bike paths, trails, and single-lane roads with little traffic, but Wilderness Scotland obviously have a special knowledge of the country and created a fabulous route for us. You do have to get on regular roads sometimes, but it is clear they minimize this for your enjoyment. I've never felt so enchanted with a bicycle tour. You feel almost like you have the natural beauty to yourself! Our guides were kind, funny, and a font of knowledge, can't say enough about them! They let Scotland show off!
GREAT job by Wilderness Scotland!
Wilderness Scotland did a great job with all aspects of the trip. Friendly staff were super communicative and everything went according to plan. Accommodations were lovely, meals were excellent, and the luggage transfer they arranged was super smooth. Highly recommend their services for worry-free travel planning in Scotland!
We loved every minute
We loved every minute of our trip. Wilderness was so easy to work with both in advance and on spot. Our accommodations were excellent and our guide even better. She was knowledgeable, very helpful, and easy to talk to. I would gladly repeat the experience.
Another wonderful trip.
Excellent information and communication from the company.
Professional, knowledgeable and well experienced guides.
Good choice of accommodation.
Wilderness Scotland did an excellent job.
Wilderness Scotland did an excellent job both planning and carrying out our itinerary. They provided personal service without feeling intrusive. We visited Shetland and Orkney, destinations that require planning for ferries and access to nature reserves. The accommodations were very good and our expectations were exceeded on this tour.
An unforgettable, safe, and highly enjoyable trip for a solo female traveller
I highly recommend the walking trips by Wilderness Scotland. They prepared me well for the trip in terms of gear needs and logistics - prospective walkers should be fully honest on the forms, carefully read the itineraries, the explanation of the difficulty ratings, and gear/kit list because doing that will help ensure an enjoyable experience! The walking routes were well thought-out, showcasing the amazing ecology, geology, history, and culture of the area. The accommodations were comfortable and filled with welcoming staff. The food was delicious, with great care taken to ensure we experienced different restaurants. Most importantly, the guide was professional, technically very skilled, and created a safe environment in which walkers with varying abilities and comforts were able to fully engage in the walks. The guide was also incredibly fun, making us laugh, teaching us about the area, and giving us tips on how to walk on different terrain. As a solo female traveller, I felt at ease right away. I am already deciding what trip to do next year!
