Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 798 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently reported that products were of very poor quality, made with cheap materials, and often did not match the descriptions or images displayed on the website. The return and refund process was a major source of frustration, with many encountering difficulties and high international shipping costs. Reviewers often received offers for partial refunds or store credit instead of the full refund they expected, despite advertised guarantees. Many people also noted misleading claims about the company's location, as items advertised from London were found to be shipped from China. Specific product issues included items being badly made, having incorrect sizing, or featuring poor details like frayed seams and uneven cuts.

A total rip off!

Everything about this company is a rip off! They appear to be London-based - wrong! They advertise a fast delivery service - wrong! The dress is made of a cotton/linen blend - wrong!
The dress I bought is almost certainly the most revolting dress ever made! NEVER buy from this company. I just wish I'd read these reviews first.

These sunglasses are illegal to be sold new in the UK/EU

These sunglasses are illegal to be sold new in the UK and EU. Very poor quality and lack of compliance laws which states:
"New non-prescription sunglasses sold in the UK should carry the UKCA mark (or CE mark for the EU market), indicating compliance with BS EN ISO 12312-1 (the standard for eye and face protection). They should also show a lens filter category (0 to 4) and UV400 / 100% UV protection labeling.Compliance Marks and StandardsUKCA / CE Mark: Printed on the inside of the temple arm or packaging to show safety and quality compliance.BS EN ISO 12312-1: The core technical standard for general sunglasses.UV400: Ensures lenses block all light rays with wavelengths up to 400 nanometers (100% protection against UVA and UVB).

I'm now trying to get a full refund, which will no doubt involve a return shipping charge.

Misleading Wilson & Carter site NOT in London

Wilson & Carter London are NOT based in London, more than likely China. I ordered what I thought were some lovely sandals. I waited 4/5 weeks for the order. I was sent countless emails updating me of status, at least 20. The last few emails said my order was at a pitstop with a link, the link took me to a map with my address. I responded a few times querying this. Eventually I had an email from RELAY courier service saying my parcel had been received. I didn't have any idea of what this was. As W & C threatened that my parcel would be returned and so did RELAY, I went to the address provided by RELAY and finally picked up my parcel which was my sandals. Upon opening this I saw that they were a poor copy of Whitehaven sandals, very poor quality and no stamp or manufacturing, size details. AVOID THIS STORE

CHEAP CHINESE CLOTHES. COSTLY TO RETURN TO CHINA!!!

I fell into the same trap as others. I wish I had seen these reviews. I ordered what looked like good quality clothes, coming from a London store, it even states hassle-free returns. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. The clothes come from china, they are cheap and poorly made. The quality is rubbish. I then asked to return the items and you have to pay to send them back to China. They resist saying best you keep them and they will refund 40%. I don't want to keep them! Cost to return is around £30. I am returning them, who knows if I will ever see the rest of the money but worth a try. Complete con. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY IT IS NOT WORTH IT.

Wish we had seen these reviews before…

Wish we had seen these reviews before ordering! Dress was completely different to the photos and took a month to arrive. Not a UK based company, they operate like Temu but inflate their prices and when asking for a refund they told me I would be paying the $40 just in custom fees and instead offered me a 15% discount on future purchases. How are they still operating? Looking at the other reviews this wasn't just a one off, they need closing down immediately.

I have had a dreadful experiance with this company. I am a 78 year old pensioner and purchased goods in good faith because of the full refund guarantee. It has been impossible to get a full refund. The company is a scam and should be held to account.

Terrible product you can’t return without huge cost

I wish I had read the Trust Pilot reviews first. Their website and positioning of ‘London’ tagged onto the name is clever. You think you are getting a premium product but this couldn’t be further from the truth. The dress I ordered took about 2 weeks to arrive and was terrible quality, terrible fit, almost see through. Just awful. I tried to return it - which they advertise is easy - but was told it would cost me in the region of $20-$30. If I wanted a new size I still had to pay $10 for the trouble. They did offer me an alternative item as a sign of good faith but this never came to be and o heard nothing more from them. Agree that this company false advertises easy returns and the quality is appalling. I would steer clear of buying anything from them.

Do not buy from this company. The quality of the clothing is awful and they present themselves as an upmarket U.K. brand. This looks like drop shipping from a factory with a fancy website.

Avoid at all costs, scam company

Extremely upsetting, I have lost money as
contrary to their website there is no chance
of getting a refund on two dresses which were crammed into a small bag and were extremely
creased and very poor quality. I am a pensioner
and the only consolation I have got is I am
not alone in getting caught by this scam company Have had several condescending emails trying to sweet talk me into having a 10percent off payment and offer of a 25percent
voucher to spend.
No way I will be agreeing to that.

Do not buy

Do not buy. I should have read the reviews. Dress nothing like the picture. Offered me a 10% refund for something only suitable to clean the house with. Then 20% and now advising that it will cost me $50 to return and only when I have agreed this will they give me the return address. It’s a complete scam PLEASE DO MOT BUY

Same as everyone else

Same as everyone else. Items not as described and poor fit. Trying to return them now but getting a runaround and ‘threats’ of exorbitant return fees, which aren’t clear on their website (so open for dispute). I’m up for a fight on this as clearly this is a unreputable company. Go elsewhere and as has been mentioned, someone should look into this company’s trading practices.

This is a Chinese Co. Nothing British about it Their garments are shoddy -they won’t refund -expect the buyer to pay to return to China & offer a measly 10% refund.

No stars for this appalling company

No stars for this appalling company. I am having a nightmare with them. Wish I’d have used trust pilot first before buying a pair of shoes. Not only have they charged me twice for the item, they will not admit responsibility for charging me twice, the item itself is absolutely cheap rubbish.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Wilson and Carter scam

It's a complete scam! An absolute rubbish item of the in correct size (there's no sizing label either) and ZERO customer support.
Waste of money! Just go to M&S as they are fab shorts/clothes when they have the stock. Or NEXT - both have amazing returns support and customer care
TOTALLY AVOID WILSON AND CARTER

0 Stars awful items and experience

If I could give this company 0stars I would.
I ordered what was advertised as a navy blue linen two piece, what I got was a see-through pollster two piece. Which was also badly put together. I received the item at 11am and requested a return and refund before 12pm. This company has offered me up to 40% off the order or I can return which will cost more than the item is worth.
This company claims to be based in London but the return address is in China

No. 55 Yifeng Road

Incorrect sizing and a very difficult refund process

I ordered a Laurence Classic Knitted Polo Shirt in XL, relying on the product-specific size chart on Wilson & Carter’s website. When it arrived, the garment did not match the advertised XL measurement.

I photographed both the XL label and the actual measurement and contacted Wilson & Carter requesting a full refund. I was perfectly willing to return the item if they provided a prepaid return label.

Instead, I was told I would need to return the incorrectly described item to China at my own expense, with international return costs quoted at $30–$50. I was subsequently offered a partial refund or 100% store credit, both of which I declined.

After repeated attempts to resolve the matter directly, I raised a chargeback with my bank and supplied the order confirmation, advertised sizing, photographs and correspondence as evidence.

Wilson & Carter subsequently issued a full refund. I am pleased that I eventually received my money back, but customers should be aware of the difficulties I experienced obtaining a refund for an item that did not match the advertised sizing.

My advice is to check the sizing and, importantly, understand the returns arrangements before ordering.
