We negotiated to transfer our electricity plan from one provider to Alinta. No moving house just a simple transfer. Their website says that the transfer will happen seamlessly without disruption to power. However we were told that WE had to ring our existing supplier to cancel our plan ( which was not locked in) and that we then had to turn off the power or risk damage to appliances with the transfer! We queried these instructions twice with the call centre and were told the same thing on both occasions. We have never had to do our own cancellation nor have had power disruption when we have changed power providers.I rang our power distributor and they told us that this not how it should work and were concerned about the information we were provided. We have elected not to move our electricity account to Alinta as their overseas call centres do know NOT how the electricity network in Victoria operates.

Hugh made moving back to Alinta Energy an easy process.
He was patient and very helpful.
I shall not move away from Alinta ever again.
Very pleased overall.

Lady consultant was very pleasant and answered all my questions and conducted the application for both my Gas and Electricity very professionally with changing over from Origin to Alinta also advising on the two bonuses of $100 each for both services .WHOOPEE.

The application fee is not disclosed clearly, I have now moved to Kleenheat - they do not charge a fee for opening an account! I do not recommend Alinta!
